I have the same problem how did you get the oil out of the alternator because my battery light is on and I have a new battery and starter and alternator is still good
Thanks didn’t know I had a leak. The alternator looks like it was dipped in mud. The front has dirty oil on it. The back of it is fine. Looked for the possible leak. Car runs fine however I haven’t tested the battery. I was told it’s going bad.
My oil leak was caused by me. My multimeter battery died and I couldn’t check for voltage but I’m pretty sure it’s the alternator because lol, …I was changing my oil, drunk, and stripped the cap that holds the filter in its housing. Screwed it on wrong. Wrong. Oil began to leak into the alternator causing smoke . It drove for a week after replacing the cap with a new un stripped one, then battery light and power steering light came on
I have this problem now. I crack my car and the belt squeaks and my meter reads about 11.6 to 12. After about 20 seconds it'll finally get up to 13.6 to 14 and it stops. It use to happen only when I turned my heater on on a cold start but now there's oil leaking on it and it happens at every start up
Chris Foust I have a standard I lucked out really I had no idea when I bought it that the autos had issues I just found this one and bought it I’m so glad it’s a standard but it was pure luck. Haha
I have an 89 Rodeo overlander battery light came on the other day then all the other lights and then it died. I just pulled the alternator and it's got a good bit of oil on it. I think it's draining down from the cap and not the valve covers. I replace the VC gaskets about 2 years ago I'm wondering or was wondering if oil ruined my alternator which was only three years old. I think the problem is I did put a cheap AutoZone alternator on it in 2019. I also painted my rodeo with bed liner paint but I went with black. And I see you ditched your plastic engine cover which are totally useless and can actually cause an engine to get hotter.
Hello, thank you for the video. Now that your alternator tested good how do you cleaned it up.

Has a bad valve cover leak in my sonata killed the alternator it literally fried it
My issue rn 😂
My issue too. Killed it once , I had mechanic put silicon to cover the leak but it came right back on after 6 months and spoiling my alternator again
Joe Isuzu would be proud of your skills, bruh 👍
OG1USA hahaha thanks and thanks for watching
Will be getting back to making vids soon
Opened new business
Have you experienced the dreaded safe aka "limp" mode on the transmission?

Great Video, thank you😁
Thats a sweet trooper
Why are you putting all that money in a POS Trooper that will shit the bed at 150,000 miles?
For a hobby, it's not that expensive.
