Let them strike. If WestJet goes belly up, then they can only blame the person in the mirror.

There’s a shortage of AME’s that’s so ridiculous that all of them would get jobs elsewhere within a month especially if Canadians keep travelling at this rate

Or how about maybe the government can buzz off and let workers lever their legal right to strike in an effort to try and make gains for its workers in this hyper inflationary environment??
“Help the middle class.” “helping working Canadians” - if you send them to binding arbitration, you won’t be, because binding arbitration often is disadvantageous for the employee group.

Brilliant. Force a group of highly skilled professionals back to work for economically less money due to the outrageous inflation caused by our elected government. As an AME, if we do not get the fair agreement we deserve after years of industry wage suppression I will take my skill and experience elsewhere (along with a high percentage of other AMEs)

So weak for company leadership to have government get involved so that the executive team can continue to receive KPI based bonuses while workers wages are stagnant and diluted by cost of living increases.
In the last 4 years at my job I finally got a 3% increase. It covers the 8% increase in my property taxes. It does not cover any of the other cost of living increases....so I am still falling behind and making less year after year.

    Cancelling for the long weekend.
This is how little west jet cares for its employees or its customers
Very obvious it’s only interested in making money , lots of it.

You say mechanics, they say engineers. Which is it? And will the Ministry of Transportation side with Westjet? Who do the use their stick on? We all know that the board of directors of all the companies make way too much money. I say they defenestrate the whole lot and move on.

Has to be one because mechanics don't like engineers very much.

With a WJ flight booked on June 30 and July 7, and dealing with the strike dispute in May long weekend last year during another booking, I will never ever book with Westjet again. Completely unreliable and stressful

WestJet can come up with all kinds of excuses to raise prices on everything related to their airline,
Be different if there was an improvement in services along with the prices but its not any better and never will improve.

False the airline changed when the original owner let go of the company 7ish years ago and let investment firms run the airline, they stopped treating employees properly and profit became the number one factor
