    Don't always say that it is in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet, remember that Rasululullah never shared his love with Khadijah, after Khadijah died he married Aisyah, and on Allah's orders he was immediately allowed to remarry to help war widows, now the context is different, look for someone younger, more beautiful , wanting to show off having more than 1 wife, is very different from the concept of the Prophet's sunnah

    As a woman, I would always prefer to be in a one-woman one- man marriage. However if the situation arises and your husband takes another woman, I would rather it be in a polygamous marriage as per islamic law. This is because it is better to be a legal wife where you and your kids have rights over the man especially the financial responsibilities and the right to inherit. Most importantly the children will be able to carry the father's name so there is no ambiguity of lineage and honour is preserved for both mother and child. As opposed to becoming a mistress or a girlfriend with zero rights and worse, kids born out that relationship are bastards that cant have the father's name.
    Alhamdulillah, it is good to be married to a practising muslim man. I feel very secured for myslef and my child. He is kind to not only us but also to my parents and extended family. At least in my culture, most Muslim men are not in a polygamous marriage because it is not common in our culture (there is no history of polygamy in either side of me or my husband's family 4-5 generation up , it is too costly and many do not want the hassle of dealing with too many in laws 😅

    not meaning to down other peoples culture but i never liked arranged marriages. i may be wrong but i believe a mutual true and pure love for one another has to be the foundation and without it you have nothing to build upon. i cant imagine being married to a woman whom i never loved. and it has to be horrible for the woman as well.

    • @ObsidianFire-o7r
      @ObsidianFire-o7r 28 дней назад +2

      Except arranged marriages have the most common form of marriage throughout the history of humanity. And if the "mutual true and pure love" is there in love marriages, wouldn't the precentage of marriages be increasing rather than decreasing? On an average, you have men 8 and women 7 sexual partners before getting married (at least in the US), so that's the likely body count of the person you're finally deciding getting married to which is not necessarily seen as a great culture either.

    • @mosaif_mudawi
      @mosaif_mudawi 28 дней назад +9

      I'm a Muslim and understand your point. It absolutely makes sense to think this way. But the issue with your approach of love first is:
      1- It's Haram (You don't care about that so look for the second point).
      2- There's the risk of being used and fooled. I.e. Too many Dudes be using love to get sex from girls and no Muslim girl or family would take that risk. That's why we don't do the dating thing.
      Now here's what you're messing about arranged marriages:
      While arranged marriage (marriage first and maybe love later doesn't sound romantic), it works most of the time.
      The reason is we believe that marriage is sanctuary, and God has promised to put love between married couple. That's one reason it tends to work.
      I have seen guys who married their high school sweethearts and their marriage didn't work out and then went and had a divorce, and the guy would go and have an arranged marriage and they couldn't spend a day far from their new spouse.
      Also, in arranged marriages you do take the time to know your partner before you marry them. It's kinda like blind dating but supervised by the family so no one would cross the line. So no, you're not marrying a stranger.

    • @faygo12
      @faygo12 28 дней назад

      @@mosaif_mudawi i understand. but also its the two people in a marriage and how they approach it. it takes work and time and plenty patience. it must be nurtured. in the us people dont take the time to work at it together and not very patient two other things is Grace and Mercy but i find most are not very forgiving.
      i identify as Christian and i discovered that in biblical times they did not "date" the way we do. the way we do it would be totally foreign to them.

    • @alyahamzah1952
      @alyahamzah1952 28 дней назад +1

      It all depends. Arranged marriage is not equal to forced marriage. Arranged at least in my southeast Asian culture means that the family suggests to their child a partner to become their spouse. This usually works because parents usually know their child the best. The candidate has been vetted , backgrounds have been checked and compatibility taken in mind.
      It is not a common practice now though, I must say, although my sister in law also went into an arranged marriage.
      My mum married thean that my grandfather suggested to her. Initially she was reluctant but my dad was clever to win her heart. They have now been married for almost 5 decades. Have hardly left each others side. My dad worked hard to build his business to give my mum a very comfortable life. In her twenties, my dad who is a decade and a half from her has brought my mum travelling all over the world. They are very much in love with each other until today. They are the proud parents of 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Alhamdulillah ❤
      For my sister In law, she also ended up being very happy with the spouse that was suggested to her by my FIL, alhamdulillah. They have 3 kids and are doing very well alhamdulillah.
      IMO, arranged marriages will usually work in situations where the parents are close to their child and have a good understanding of who their children are. Then they are able to suggest a partner that will be a good match.

      @@ObsidianFire-o7r You are not correct. Love marriages are not decreasing. A father should advise his son not to agree to restrictive demands that could lead to disaster. After all, if a man seeks a halal arrangement rather than having a mistress, what is the problem?
