I agree on having the Dragnov having a base damage . There shouldnt be a RNG mechanic when it comes to bullets hitting . It leaves the game on Luck rather then skill
Hope the sandstorms are done better than the tornados… tornados are awful especially late game where you can’t run 20 meters to get in the zone at phase 5 and you get hurt so much with blue zone/tornado
Me and my brother really loved the Miramar map ever since we played it together. Interesting map, very fun to play in the top 10 situations, where you get stuck in a cliff in a phase 5 blue zone 🤣🤣 But now, it is even better.
SVD is simply impossible to be balanced unless it is artificially nerfed. It has bigger bullets then a m24, better fire rate, great ballistics and insane reliability. It should have the same damage as the Mosin Nagant because they use the same bullet. But the MN is already artificially nerfed by having kar98 bullet speed but not as much drop. So it's either artificially nerfed/weird mechanics or it's Escape from Tarkov annihilation of worlds. Because simply put, the Dragunov is OP IRL
7.62x54R (Mosin, SVD, PKM) is really not anymore powerful than 7.62x51 NATO (M24, SLR Mark 14). They both shoot similar weight bullets at smiliar speeds. The SVD reminds me what the SLR was like before being nerfed until it's now a sad shell of it's former self.

It's got almost no differnce from the intermediate power 7.62x39 SKS, which in reality has a muzzle velocity 600-700 FPS slower than a full power 7.62x51 NATO battle rifle like the SLR. Back in the day the SLR was the proper long range monster it should still be, but now it's like it's range and accuracy has been nuetered.
Not really.. Most Dragunov's are typically only a 2 to 4 MOA rifle IRL. Everything you said is correct, but they just aren't quite as accurate as modern AR10 style DMR's such as the M110 or a long barrel Sig Spear, etc. AK style rifles are just inherently less accurate in general, but they make up for it in reliability. So it would be easy to nerf the Dragunov as per real life: just by giving it a larger cone of fire. Or at least making a random round fly off outside the cone of fire. Because flyers are super common IRL with Dragunov's/ SVD's, etc.. They are great rifles.. Legendary!.. but they can't stack up to modern AR10's... That's just a fact. (in accuracy-- granted they have a slightly larger round)

I'm honestly looking forward to visiting and exploring all the new locations on the map lol I do think a good addition for them to add would be a night time theme on all of the maps and you use things like night vision goggles torches and thermal scopes that I think would probably make it more fun and intense but otherwise at least they're listening to the community
Yes! Thank you! I do wish they add night time variant to maps. Where it's almost impossible to see without proper equipment such as flashlights and new type of throwable item: flares. What they could do, since not everyone might enjoy this type of gameplay.. is to have it as a separate game mode.
The random damage mechanic is cool, but it needs to be reworked. Headshots could have a set base damage (say it knocks a level 2 helm) and then body shots could have the randomization. I get its a "skill" weapon, but if theres luck involved, its not skill.

Dragonuv seems to have a 1/3 chance of a crit. Based on the current dmr scalars a dmr will kill a level 2 helmet at 71 damage (weapon damage* headshot* helmet): 71*2.35*0.6 = 100.11 So why not average the damage and avoid rng? (58+58+73)/3 = 63 Higher than the mk, but if you give it a slow rate of fire...
I've tested out the SVD and the damage chance is super wonky, I don't have stats but out of 50 times I've fired at a lv2 helmet, 37 of the kills was 1 shot headshot and the rest are left with a little HP left most of the time which is weird

I’m ngl, i stopped playing this game years ago, but ive stayed subbed and every now and then i absolutely love watching these vids to get a sense of where the game is today. Makes me wanna jump back in, but i have trouble convincing my friends to play this BR over others lol
Miramar is my favorite map. I really hope they add it to the permanent rotation - so sick of it being only every other week. Changes look good, skeptical of the sandstorm, though.
@@hexagonosaurus5848 people play ranked for fun anyway. noone takes this game seriously. u have people playing SRs in ranked in diamond and above. utilizing smokes is not even understood, ppl just take 6 frag grenades if they can and play AKM kar98. the only difference is ur dropping with 64 players and there is no tactical gear. personally im really fcked up by the normal game zones, these are designed for 64 players not 100. frequently having 80+ players alive in phase 3 or 50 in phase 5 is not what i can enjoy. U just survived a fight even tho u got 3rd partied and somehow 2 other teams come pushing u even tho u were trying to play defensive, edge of the circle and away from were the circle has shifted from. squad normal games are very similar to TDM rn, just that respawning takes longer
Draganuv sounds like those crits from TF2 which were notorious for the community disliking them. Also the Aston being Pay to Lose is just like the Mclaren where the hitbox is funky so it flips all the time off road compared to the Coup.
is the seated position a bug... or a feature?! not seeing the road in front of you will be great for a) improving your eye coordination by constantly looking at the map to check if you're still on-road and b) learning the road configurations so you can almost drive blindfolded like in Mario Kart

I really wish they made footsteps REALLY louder. bc its volume is so low that you pretty much have to choose between not hearing footsteps at all, or turining up the volume to hear then, but having premature hearing loss from the insanely high gunshots.
@@caesaria there are base damage modifiers that change based on where you hit someone and what armor they wear. My numbers are for level 2 helmet headshot damage.
@@caesaria Not really, as long as we are talking one shot in the head. Until now only sniper rifles could one shot level 2 helmet. While Lynx and AWM can one shot also level 3 helmet full HP. For DMR to have one shot capabilities is considered OP since even MK14 and SLR only do 86 resp. 79 dmg. So basically you can be running around with sniper rifle with semiauto and 20 bullets in magazine and one in third chance of crit hit one headshot down capabilities. I don't see such an issue here, but still think it should be either crate weapon or nerfed at least in terms of magazine size, etc.

Quite a few people are hating the RNG feature of SVD. I'm going to see how it plays out in reality. I think it kind of goes along with the randomness of PUBG (i.e. you can land on good loot, or completely nothing, get lucky with the final circle, or not). There's quite a big element of luck in the game and RNG feature just goes along with it. However, if it proves too much of a pain, I think PUBG devs should add a bipod to one of the world spawned 7.76 DMRs. It would certainly balance it out against MK-12. SVD is a good contender for that mod instead of RNG element because it has a more controlled rate of fire.
There is bit of randomness to pubg, but never in gunplay. This is another change to help the shitters out. btw you can choose where to land, weapons load before you land so you have control over that same as you have control over your rotations on the map, whilst the circle is random, you can definitely fight for good potential position or have rotation plan
Miramar will be a featured map from August 9 to August 23, so it will be playable it will just not be part of the random map pool from August 16 to August 23...

Better would be a sweetspot system with the weapon damage. 73 on sweetspot e.g. 200m all below or above will decrese in damage down to 58. must not be this numbers, but i think such a system would bring special usecases for weapons and so maybe more diverserty
Well, I feel like the RNG of the Dragunov is actually okay, because of two things: RNG does not discriminate. There is no way to anticipate when you get lucky. Second of all, you do not have to use the gun, if you want consistency. If you think about it, even if you have perfect recoil control, the horizontal spread of weapons is also kind of an RNG factor. Same goes for loot drops, circle placement and red zones. I would agree however, that this gun has no place in ranked or e-sports events. Maybe make the damage range of the weapon a little lower, so getting lucky does not have that much of an impact? But all in all, I like a bit of messy RNG when it's not too impactful.
With damage range, I do not mean physical range, measured in meters, I mean that it might do between 58 and 68 dmg maybe. That would make it okay in my opinion, because one shot headshots on a level 2 helmet is something I would not like to see in DMRs at all.
Variable damage is realistic, but should be imposed on all weapons. Bullets tumble and expand in different ways. They don't deal exactly the same amount of damage with every shot. In fact, some ammo isn't very consistent in its performance from one shot to another.
Quick question. Does the sandstorm render gas can explosions and fire void? Does it blow it out or can the gas can explode and burn? Asking for @benjoi. 😁
Red zone on Erangel/Deston replaced by a hail storm with a bit of fog? sanhok and taego a thunder storm with a bit of fog? karakin just copy the sandstorm? Paramo a vulcano eruption with ashy clouds? They would all do the same thing, but be themed to the climate/environment of the map. Paramo volcano eruption might be a bit farfetched, but the others shouldn't be that hard to implement, because they pretty much all already exist.
Wacky do you know if Miramar will be removed from zombie custom mode or just left with the old Miramar? It doesn’t state specifically in the patch notes. I emailed support but you know how that usually goes
I won't believe they listen to community feedback until they find a way to solve the sound balance issues. A hotfix would be as simple as totally muting steps when crouched walking and proning. Even if it wouldn't fix all hax based on sound and try hards who have 1k usd earphones, it would make it a lot more bearable to fight against by allowing you to be totally silent while moving.

as far as zeroing the 6x this is a nice change, although i do remember the pre december 2017 when you could zero just about everything.

Dragunov gives either 83 or 102 damage close range. Crit hit on average 30% of the time. Tested over hundreds of shots.
why do the patch notes give different numbers?

As Latam player, I think that wackyjacky speeching, diction and the way he speaks is SO comfortable, that I can understand every thing he says. He should start making podcasts, he is extremely nice for my ears.

My question is more, what does the Dragunov add that current DMR's don't? I think it would be better to add a weapon that doesn't already exist.. like a 5.6 pistol, or a new weapon class all together.

Better would be a sweetspot system with the weapon damage. 73 on sweetspot e.g. 200m all below or above will decrese in damage down to 58. must not be this numbers, but i think such a system would bring special usecases for weapons and so maybe more diverserty
yeah or maybe just weapon dmg that decreases more with range than usual, so the gun consistently 1 shots until X range, thats a really good idea
to be fair old russian ammo could potentially have a bit of variance in performance irl. You could reasonably have a random spicy boi cartridge.

What guns can you use mid zipline?
Well, I feel like the RNG of the Dragunov is actually okay, because of two things: RNG does not discriminate. There is no way to anticipate when you get lucky. Second of all, you do not have to use the gun, if you want consistency. If you think about it, even if you have perfect recoil control, the horizontal spread of weapons is also kind of an RNG factor. Same goes for loot drops, circle placement and red zones. I would agree however, that this gun has no place in ranked or e-sports events. Maybe make the damage range of the weapon a little lower, so getting lucky does not have that much of an impact? But all in all, I like a bit of messy RNG when it's not too impactful.
With damage range, I do not mean physical range, measured in meters, I mean that it might do between 58 and 68 dmg maybe. That would make it okay in my opinion, because one shot headshots on a level 2 helmet is something I would not like to see in DMRs at all.

Variable damage is realistic, but should be imposed on all weapons. Bullets tumble and expand in different ways. They don't deal exactly the same amount of damage with every shot. In fact, some ammo isn't very consistent in its performance from one shot to another.

Does the sandstorm render gas can explosions and fire void? Does it blow it out or can the gas can explode and burn? Asking for @benjoi. 😁

Red zone on Erangel/Deston replaced by a hail storm with a bit of fog? sanhok and taego a thunder storm with a bit of fog? karakin just copy the sandstorm? Paramo a vulcano eruption with ashy clouds? They would all do the same thing, but be themed to the climate/environment of the map. Paramo volcano eruption might be a bit farfetched, but the others shouldn't be that hard to implement, because they pretty much all already exist.
Miramar was already my favorite map, now it`s gonna be even more! :D

Wacky do you know if Miramar will be removed from zombie custom mode or just left with the old Miramar? It doesn’t state specifically in the patch notes. I emailed support but you know how that usually goes
I won't believe they listen to community feedback until they find a way to solve the sound balance issues. A hotfix would be as simple as totally muting steps when crouched walking and proning. Even if it wouldn't fix all hax based on sound and try hards who have 1k usd earphones, it would make it a lot more bearable to fight against by allowing you to be totally silent while moving.
