couldn't help to not get a smile on my face, when you said out fighting the elements I a big jacket at +15c at that temp we put on shorts a t-shirts in northern Europe, when a bit closer to the +20c mark we start swimming out doors 😂 great video, the quality of your content has improved a lot!
pff LExus did it 15 years ago and is still class leader in SUV Hybrids ....my 2010 is not a plug in but it is in city often in electric mode only and has 2 ! e motors which also function as generator when coasting. In these conditions and ECO mode i manage 6- 6.5ltr/100km with max 80km/h. What i like most is its nice 3.5ltr V6 which runs smooth and quite with enough power when you need it ! On Autobahn it still can go up to its limiter (200km/h) uphill ! greetings from germany
Love the review. Is 100% fresh easy to watch you got my 👍 sadly is one of those things that having one is on my imagination. Love the review and many thinks guys!
+TechnoBuffalo - Jon- have you ever considered doing car reviews? This was a great review, but additionally, technology has never permeated the automobile more than ever as it is today. I'd definitely like to hear your take on infotainment systems, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cars in general, etc. Sounds like a great trip to Germany!
+Andrew “FrostLordAndrew” Kingstrom I wish we had more footage of the chainsaw lady. We totally weren't expecting to see a lady on a ladder with a full chainsaw. She was going to town on those hedges.
Shame that the battery was not just a bit larger so that you could drive 100% electric for daily commutes, as most people their daily commute is around 25 miles one direction. Unlike the i3, the X5 gas motor does not recharge the onboard friction battery, it would have been smart for BMW to have made regenerative braking recharge the batteries even when in gas mode, plus the gas motor should be designed to recharge while on the go. This attempt like the i8 are simply compliance cars and not like the i3 which is a true EV, even with the REx system it's better off.
In a 2013 report, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment program concluded that batteries using nickel and cobalt, like lithium-ion batteries, have the “highest potential for environmental impacts”. It cited negative consequences like mining, global warming, environmental pollution and human health impacts. Hopefully technology will come out with a more environmentally friendly solution
Honestly tesla's electric cars are better. Not only are the batteries a lot bigger and longer, but they barely take up any extra space either. What's the point of a small electric battery anyway, 20 miles is barely anything and it's not worth adding weight to the car just to get that.
If Tesla can do it, why can't anyone else? Hybrids are a joke. If your still going to use gas then make the cars light and efficient. don't way them down with batteries and such. and as for the person above, i could care less about emissions. my TDI gets better milage then any Prius, more power and doesn't look like some futuristic p.o.s for half the price.
tonTeufel lol exactly, in Europe they tested the top 15 brands (Toyota, honda, BMW etc) and they all were producing more missions then they stated in their testing with the government
+Nathan S well why doesn't that surprise me. I mean, basically it's like that with everything. Which WiFi Router met the speed from it's spec sheet? No one ever (however you are not actually harming anyone by that and it's not an official government test)
This channel should stick to only tech world of personal computing and please John you don't have to accept auto makers invitation for reviewing their products just because they would cover the entire trip for you to advertise for them. I just don't get why you would feel obligated to accept the invitation, you have good audience here for what you do best which is the personal and mobile tech world. I hope this channel is not going to be an auto channel.
+Halim Boy That would be boring because I love driving. Even now I hate automatic transmission. You get real joy of clutches and gears only in manual transmission. My opinion though.
Ugh... why, BMW, why not make a full EV? In a large SUV like this, all that space that the ICE and transmission take can be used for batteries. This car has a potential of 400+ km range on batteries alone, if not more. Shame.
Because they have one - it's the i3 - pure electric city car. The X5 is not pure electric because it is a serious car - one where you can put gas in and use it as a normal car everywhere - and 30km is still enough to go to your workplace everyday in electric mode if you want.
I really hope you guys enjoy this video. We traveled around the world, fought the elements and spent countless hours to bring this one to you.
+TechnoBuffalo That video was so awesome. It looked professional too. Hope to see such rich contents ahead.
Keep up the good job #TeamBuffalo ☺
4:45 "It´s pretty cold! +59F and i´m driving my BMW."
Probably the funniest TechnoBuffalo video I've seen.
+Patel Productions (Akshay Patel) Glad you liked it!
A little more range would have been better as specially in full electric mode. Like the idea of no premium cost for the E version
Hey man what was going on with the SUV image after 0:56, or 1:04 it kept deforming like swiveling or something, could it be youtube or encoding?
Wow! This channel has come a long way. Love this vid. The quality in videos has gone up exponentially.
+Christopher Foley Thank you for that!
Car reviews from now on please +1 i will actually share this channel to my friends..
Great vid! The German tweet says: Pretty cold! +15 degree centigrade and I am driving my BMW.
couldn't help to not get a smile on my face, when you said out fighting the elements I a big jacket at +15c at that temp we put on shorts a t-shirts in northern Europe, when a bit closer to the +20c mark we start swimming out doors 😂
great video, the quality of your content has improved a lot!
Does it really fast? or is just like normal SUV?? Thank you
The video quality is just spectacular!
Great job and effort on the video man it's pretty cool you got to test this awesome car out
+Axel Correa Thank you!
The tweet says: "Pretty cold! 15 degree and i drive my bmw." Nice that you have been in my hometown.

What have been nice to review the m3/4 or any m vehicle
I'd love to get behind the wheel of one of those beasts!
John where did you get that jacket from? I'm looking for one that looks exactly like that for a Christmas present.
+Stealthfreak25 It's an old jacket, I don't remember where it came from unfortunately.
I suppose they gave you a CVT because that's the standard in America, but makes me wonder : is there going to be a 6-speed manual version?
I'd doubt it.
what's that music at 3:52?
+Haymkarran S bhalla all music is captioned in the video
Ron Parida Got it. Thankyou. Regards.
Have you ever seen the new 7 series? it will surprise you with amazing technologies used in the car!
Yes!!!! I wish the US got the remote control from the fob and laser headlights.
Video was great, especially the last scene with your coffee!
The video is awesome. Did bmw do the editing ?
+Sanjay G No, our own Ron Padria did the magic. Dude is a wizard.
+TechnoBuffalo amazing . Been watching all your videos for years. nice improvement. keep it up. :)
I'm buying one now... does it come with a free maintenance john ?

Awesome video! Greetings from Munich
John what do you personally drive since it sounds like you don't like to drive much haha
Great video! I added it to the "BMW X5 40e videos from around the world" playlist on my channel. Keep up the good work! :-)
The Tweet:
It's pretty cold, 15 degrees Celcius. I am driving my new BWM currently.
Sweet Vid John!
"Pretty cold! 15°C and I'm driving my BMW."
That's what the tweet says. And yes, that's Celsius, the scientific correct unit for temperature.
Yes, nose froth is a must
I guess that makes me 7th?
would you recommend the priv or a Note 5 for a music production kind of person
+Stephen McAllister Thank you! That was a total surprise to me actually.
+Chaska Cox-Potter note 5. spen for writing. and this year Samsung has the best speaker on s6 and note 5.
+Jay Wayne The HTC One M9 has a very good speaker, but in terms of loudness and overall enjoyment, the Nexus 6P has the best speaker.
are you going to giveaway this one??
lol
I'm german. The tweet says "It's really cold! 15 degrees celsius and I'm driving my BMW."
+Oscar Knipp Great Video btw!
It was cold!
+Oscar Knipp Thanks Oscar.
Dikke BMWEE jongens!
*sighs loudly*
There would have been so many scenic roads to film on!
BTW the screen says 'it's really cold! 15°C and I'm sitting in my BMW'
Everywhere was beautiful but the rain got us.
The tweet: pretty cold! 15 degrees and I'm driving my BMW. My first language is English but I'm learning German.
Was the beginning from the iPad review on the giveaway page and go enter people
+alex pantoja Yeah. While on this trip I only took the iPad and that's what we used for the review.
+TechnoBuffalo I would wish I would be able to take a iPad on a trip on the review u can do a lot of things on the trip
Why does this electronic car have exhaust pipes???
Because its a hybrid car not a EV
That car is sexier than the Nexus 6P...
An even more fun experience is driving the BMW after drinking German beers!!!
+Dylan Lutchman avoid drunk driving 🍻 + 🚗 = 🚫
Cool video, it's a really nice car like always from BMW
BMW welt is great!! Picked up my active hybrid 3 series there two years ago!!
Nice video Tecuno buffalo..
The tweet says
"Pretty cold outside +15 C and I'm driving my BMW"
The tweet says: Pretty cold! 15 degrees Celcius and I am driving my BMW.
It says: Pretty cold - 15° Celsius - and I'm driving my BMW.
Great effort jon, but you gotta lot to learn about how to review a car. Again great effort! keep it up love to see different varieties of videos.
What technobuffalo doing for reviewing CAR, bizar
i've been to munchen!!!
it was so awesome!!! mareinplatz and english gardens!!! :O
I am not from Germany (from Dubai), but Germans are the best people in making cars, and doing other things.
With this desaturation, I'm starting to think this is a horror movie.
Love the review. Is 100% fresh easy to watch you got my 👍 sadly is one of those things that having one is on my imagination. Love the review and many thinks guys!
Thank you!
just me or audio cracking ?
It says: Pretty cold! +15•C and I'm driving my BMW
I've been here since jon4lakers
Thanks for staying!
Me too and BTW I live in Munich 😍🙌
Great video! But the end is kinda bad, I was expecting a "see ya" or something like that.. Love it still!
+TechnoBuffalo - Jon- have you ever considered doing car reviews? This was a great review, but additionally, technology has never permeated the automobile more than ever as it is today. +Josh M Thanks Josh. I absolutely have. I love car tech@
That girl at 2:57 sounds so much like zoey from the yogscast
+Andrew “FrostLordAndrew” Kingstrom I wish we had more footage of the chainsaw lady. We totally weren't expecting to see a lady on a ladder with a full chainsaw. She was going to town on those hedges.
I thought he was starting with a poem.

When he pulls out a galaxy 5 😂
that wink tho 😋
I think Technobuffalo can compete with CNET OnCars 👍
+Karthik Nair No Way. Cooley is the Godfather of car reviews.
very nice car
So you make the most drag nonefficient vehicle electric to be efficient and ecological?!?!?!?
great car great video ... thumbs up :)
Thanks!
Maybe one day I'll have the money to buy one

Nice vid
+Maddox Leigh Thank you!
What's up
18 to 20 mile range? Thats kind of not hybrid at all...
nice car

+adam dencker Thanks Adam!
Why a tech channel do car reviews?
+TurtleSpice Lots of tech in cars right?
+TechnoBuffalo True, but you didn't talk about it much. only the connected drive
They are still expensive, though...
Hahahah I was there too, it´s nice there :D
friken stupid!1!!!! come out with a purely electric with a good rage like 400+ K range! you have so much space for batteries in an X5, come on BMW
+Nathan S at least BMW doesn't lie about emissions like trash VW
+AlexX H00N1G4N or we just don't know it yet :D

+Stelios Pasiardes They are all in English, no?
+TechnoBuffalo I meant the german twitter post at 4:45 ._.
+Stelios Pasiardes It means "It's very cold! +15 °C and I am driving my BMW" ;-)
Oh, I thought it could be that but I thought it wouldn't be so obvious :P Anyways, thanks ^^
c'mon! What's under the hood!
Did he say 18-20 miles? lol

GG
cool advertising video ........?
Probably in another 10 or 20 years you don't have to learn how to drive. The car will drive for you
+Halim Boy That would be boring because I love driving. Even now I hate automatic transmission. You get real joy of clutches and gears only in manual transmission. My opinion though.
+Ameya Padhye same as me though. I love using manual gear, but not in traffic jam.
It's not a true electric, still runs on gas so it really doesn't count as an electric.
+doomdye Yes, you can!
Tesla Model X is better
Agreed!
250 mile electric range, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, Falcon wing doors, 5 star safety and Autopilot... Model X ftw!!!
x3 is good for value =)
Honestly. Electric cars are junk right now.
Except for teslas
+Cranking All Day Tesla's cars aren't.
+bensemus x they come with good battery life. my friend said his Tesla 3 year old car only has 60 to 70% max charge and lots of problems
+Peter Isaac kind of does. I explain if you look up slightly
and really Bad for the environment. producing the battery used is way worse than driving about 8000000 km in an gas car.
yet another sponsored video...
+RGiant you sound upset
Tesla bummers need not apply
20 miles? Tesla Model X makes 260 miles! Try harder bmw!
Ugh... why, BMW, why not make a full EV? In a large SUV like this, all that space that the ICE and transmission take can be used for batteries. This car has a potential of 400+ km range on batteries alone, if not more. Shame.

Why doesn't he like electric cars? Doesn't he own a Tesla?
lol two people third XD
I guess I'm eight
