How to Reset Service Interval on VW Golf MK5

Hi, this video shows you how to reset the service interval on your Volkswagen Golf MK5. This is useful if you have serviced the car yourself and you do not want to be reminded to service the car every time you start it up.

Thank you, last time they were changing my oil filter they probably did not reset this and i received this notice in like 4000km, now it's reset and it works as shown in video.

Does the Service warning come up at the pre-set mileage intervals (10,000~20,000~30,000 etc), or does it come up 10,000 miles after you've reset it.

Hi there mate, how can i change the settings on the screen on my gti mk5? I dont have the button on the side of the wipers stick, any way to get into the settings on screen, also i need to activate my steering wheel aswell since its been changed and no paddle shifts work nor does the buttons on wheel, any help

There is 2 types of service progs in VAG world. Fixed service intervals 15tkm /1 year or Longlife 30tkm / 2(or4) years (70tkm /4 years vans) and you can change the service intervals on the car as you like(with scantool).
If you reset it like this it should make your service time as Fixed. You can only reset to longlife with scantool(not on all but most of them that i see).
And so dont be thinking your insturment control module is progen, if you see this time service message sooner then "normal".
