Precious bodily fluids. 10 females to each male! It's an obvious commie trick Mr. President! We're wasting valuable time! Look at the big board! They're getting ready to clobber us!
This was the orchestra of Brit Laurie Johnson. It is on one of his LPs. It is the finest rendition I have every heard. Did not ruin in with some bullshit sax. Just pure romantic string ork.
Everything about this production screams Dr Strangelove Intro/Title sequence to me. 😀 Clearly a fan. It's not just the music & cloud scape but the way the titles/words are shown. The only things missing were the KC & the B52 - though I thought the EasyJet wing shot was a hoot. 😀
Such a nice imagination you have there. I never get tired of this soundtrack. When this Covid stuff is over and when traveling will be safe again I'm going to listen to it repeatedly beyond the clouds.
@@easyaspi1177 Kubrick obviously saw the fade-in worked better for the silky, erotic opening of the film and is repeated here to achieve the same vibe.
Very Nice! Just what I needed for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Try A Little Tenderness by Jimmy Campbell, Reg Connelly and Hugh M. Woods is one of my all-time favorites since I first saw the movie Dr. Strangelove over 50 years ago. It's what's needed for this crazy, combative world we live in. Bush ignored the warnings and should've accepted the Taliban offer and stayed out of Afghanistan and Iraq. The Berlin flight is similar to the opening scene of Dr. Strangelove, only better in color without the copulating war machines in the air.
Nobody knows who made this cover of the song. Most likely an orchestra created specifically for the film. If you find out who made this version, please let me know. :)
I agree. I also love about ten seconds earlier, where the lyrics would say “easier to bear”, the cello disappoints, but the violins elevate. Just great.
Doktor Merkwürdigliebe. Or, the film title in germany. "Dr. Seltsam oder: Wie ich lernte, die Bombe zu lieben." Seltsam = Strange. I wonder if they couldn't use just 'Strange' in the English/US title because of the Marvel comic book character & copyright?
This music was intended by Kubrick as symbolism; above all; irony. This 'fond' music opposed to a black comedy tale about the brutal, catastrophic destruction of the world. The original story was so depressing that the author of the book that this film was based on, 'Red Alert', committed suicide. Peter George had been a fighter pilot during WW2 and re-joined the RAF to become a Fighter Controller around the start of the Cold War. He had to deal with, on a daily basis, the distinct possibility of having to order interceptor pilots on one way missions to take out Russian nuclear armed bombers. 'Red Alert' is, perhaps, the best book I've ever read; it certainly is the most depressing, but ever so brilliantly written. Kubrick also was deeply depressed by his book and decided the only way to present his story was as a black comedy, dripping with irony and symbolism. Initially, Peter George was furious that Kubrick had turned his story into a comedy, however, he made up with Stanley and wrote another book, this time based on the screenplay. Before reading George's book, I too loved this piece of music. Now, it can only represent the futility of nuclear war and reminds me of the torment that poor Peter George suffered. Regards, BH P.S. Where did those silly lyrics come from?
Another commercial flight I suspect. There has to be a minimum separation, both vertically & horizontally, & the combined airspeed for high altitude flights going in opposite directions is probably close to 1,000mph - it looks less because of how far apart they are.
The introduction was cued past. I recall the original track. It starts out with violins sounding wistful. Intro similar to the cadenza close at 1:54. You can tell this track is faded in.
@@EitanRieger um, er learn to read. Guess you don't know how music is made or how it is edited. Same thing with Non Domenticar by Percy Faith. The original had a cadenza intro before the theme started. There was a pop version that cut the intro. You can tell a fade in, no matter how skillfully it is done. Ruined the song for me. There is no orchestration that fades in like that. Same here with Try A Little Tenderness. Well now, I explained it rather simple and stupid for those who do get it. Maybe you do now. I gotta get back to my own music making. Doing a shit-kicking country parody song.
@@easyaspi1177 The same fade in was done by Kubrick, for obvious reasons cinematically, which is why the same cue is used in this video. Don't be so literal.

This was the theme music from Doctor Strangelove. That's why they've used that lettering and background
I hope and pray that, when I close my eyes for the last time in this life, this music will be playing all around me when I awake in Heaven.
Saw Dr Strangelove at the theater in 1964 I was 15, loved Slim Pickens riding the bomb
