On Thursday, June 1, at the MacArthur in L.A., Halsey gave the first full performance of the songs from her new album ‘hopeless fountain kingdom’ at our Vevo Presents show. A fearless stage performer, she brought all the roiling emotions of her latest work to the foreground; both artist and audience connected deeply. Several of the tunes were inspired by a “prolonged breakup” Halsey went through (as well as being artistically influenced by Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Romeo + Juliet’) and their dramatic impact was front and center. “‘BADLANDS was about my relationship with myself,” she says. “‘hopeless fountain kingdom’ is about me fighting to get back to that relationship with myself.”

Everyone is saying about her Blue hair.. As a very big fan of Ashley(Halsey) I know that the whole reason she shaved her hair off was so that she didn't have to depend on it any longer. She still wears the Blue wig because some of her so called 'fans' say she is a different person without the Blue hair.. A) She is still the same person. She is just growing as a person and artist. Her hair does not define who she is. It defines what she looks like. And B) as her fans you should support her in her decisions. Whether that be a colour of her hair or length... I used to have extremely long hair until I cut it off earlier this year.. So I can relate to her on a mutual level. You tend to depend on your hair a lot.. And for me it was confidence.. When I cut my hair off, I finally became me. I finally felt free. Which is probably the same for her.. I had my best friend tell me I'd changed and wasn't the same person all because my hair had changed too.. You guys need to stop commenting on what type of person she is because of her hair and start seeing her for who she is as an artist and an individual.
