    Thanks for the video, very clear and detailed. 👍Well done! I just subscribed.
    I didn't set the mono safety and placed it too high near the collar, so the entire video's audio was ruined. I wonder where to attach it on the shirt at a perfect height and make it INVISIBLE.

    • @JasonRobertsVideo
      @JasonRobertsVideo  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks. To make fully invisible you'd have to use a lav mic, run it up under clothes and tape to torso/chest area. Can also try to put with magnet on outside and mic on inside of shirt but you would still see the magnet on the outside.

      Thanks! Do you have the fluffy wind protector attached? Are you wearing underneath clothing? Do you have the low cut enabled feature enabled? Are you wearing it upside down? All these things could cause muffled sound. You could also try EQ when editing like I show in this video: ruclips.net/video/Z89JAFkihrw/видео.html

    great video, I found it super helpful, although I'm definitely worried about this cold shoe mount, ive heard before I got my Dji Mic that it was delicate but this seems crazy!

    • @the_driveway
      @the_driveway 11 месяцев назад

      I actually just figured out that it will still charge (and fit in the case) with the mount attached. I'm using a Sony ev-z10 and will just keep things attached and charging going forward.

    • @JasonRobertsVideo
      @JasonRobertsVideo  11 месяцев назад

      Glad you worked it out :) I tend to leave the mount in the cold shoe now and just disconnect the receiver - I do it slowly and carefully so it doesn't snap back down - I find this easier than trying to slide the entire thing on/off.

    • @the_driveway
      @the_driveway 11 месяцев назад

      @@JasonRobertsVideo interesting! On my Sony I’m using a smallrig shell that doesn’t allot the Tx to sit all the way in properly but still good enough so moving in an out is easy. Removing the mount from the tx feels like trouble for my goofy hands! Hopefully Dji makes cheap replacements…

    • @JasonRobertsVideo

    This was super helpful, thank you!! I’m planning to use both microphones simultaneously for a podcast, and I’m wondering if using stereo mode means my voice would be heard on the left ear only and my co-host's voice on the right ear if that makes sense? Wouldn’t that be a bit weird for the listeners? Thank you 🙏

    • @JasonRobertsVideo
      @JasonRobertsVideo  3 месяца назад

      Thanks. Yes, you would need to use your video editing software to make both sides of the stereo signal go to both speakers/headphones. You also might get some "bleed" where you hear the other person in the other mic as well.

  • @wildroadpictures
    @wildroadpictures Год назад

    Just got the DJI mic and your video was very helpful. Two basic questions: should the transmitters and receiver be turned on when charging in the case, and do all lights on the charger case glow steady when fully charged. Thanks.

    • @JasonRobertsVideo
      @JasonRobertsVideo  11 месяцев назад

      I don't turn my receivers/transmitters on/off specifically before I put them in the charging case. The lights go out when fully charged on the case.

  •  10 месяцев назад

    thanks a lot for explaining 👍.
    i bought the "single" transmitter bundle last week and was disappointed from the mono sound.
    (When watching my first Osmo A4 video without microphone on TV with soundbar, i noticed a nice stereo effect from a car, driving from right to left.)
    So i ordered the 2 transmitter bundle for better stereo sound.
    Mono is boring.
    Do you know maybe how to create stereo effects?
    with kind regards

    • @JasonRobertsVideo
      @JasonRobertsVideo  10 месяцев назад +1

      That's a great question! The transmitters have omnidirectional microphones which means they pick up sound from all directions so if you have 2 next to each other you wont get a big dramatic stereo effect - you could experiment of course with having them face different directions. You can also create a stereo effect by keyframing/automating the pan setting in you video editing software.

    Thank you for this video! Please tell me if you updated the receiver firmware? My receiver has slightly different settings menu, probably less options than you showed. So maybe the reason is that my firmware is old, but idk. Also I noticed that if you attach transmitter in the center of your t-shirt and then start rotating your head while talking and recording, then it becomes a royal PITA to correct the volume level in the post processing, because every time you turn your head left of right, the volume drops.

    Is it possible to record both to the receiver and both transmitters - in stereo - for maximum safety, in case some audio source fails? How?

    Probably asked often but what are the best ideal receiver gain and transmitter settings?

    • @JasonRobertsVideo

      There's no one ideal setting, it depends on how loud the person talks, how far the mic is from the mouth, whether or not you are using a separate lav mic, what camera & settings you are attaching to: I think I'm currently +4 on transmitter and +6 on receiver.

    Hi. I have a question that I'm hopeful you can address. Two years back, I acquired a DJI Pocket 2 camera as part of the creators bundle, which included a wireless microphone. Now, I'm keen on utilizing that very same wireless mic with my Sony A7SIII camera in specific scenarios. Could you please guide me on how to connect it to my Sony camera? I'm wondering if DJI produces any separate receivers that are compatible with these mics, or if there are any generic alternatives available. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • @royaltykidstv

    What do you mean when you say “if your signal in your camera is very quiet?” This is when you are talking about the receiver gain. What is a good number to have on the receiver gain?

    • @JasonRobertsVideo
      @JasonRobertsVideo  10 месяцев назад +1

      I think I meant if even with a high receiver gain your camera input is still too low then increase your camera gain. There is no one right setting for receiver gain as it also depends on what your transmitters are set to and how loud the person is - I think I have mine at +6 on a Sony a7S III
