Erik, you offer an extremely valuable service to those of us who are not to proud to admit that "we do not know everyting" you do this in spite of public criticism, You Tube red tape and in between your own busy home, work and pro shooting constraints, I personally cannot thank you enough and i pray that you find the time to produce a book so that myself, my children and future generations can benefit from your easily digestible instruction style and no nonsense "pure gold" wealth of knowledge.
i'am 78, dad started me reloading when i was around 12. Back then was a hole lot less complicated LOL .Thanks. Goes to show your never to old to learn something new.KEEP up the good work.
Thank you for taking the time to publish these videos. i have been loading for almost 50 years ( just for fun) & I learn some thing new every video. Please continue and I am looking forward to the F Class loading info. Got a lot of respect for you. Good luck at the match....
Loving the vlogs mate, with as much knowledge as you have, theres always lots of little gems of info that come thru when ya just chewing the fat. I know how much work is involved with making and editing these vids. Really appreciate your commitment to this. Cheers from New Zealand!
I can not thank you enough for all the information you're passing along. As a 64 year old reloader, shooter and hunter for most of my life, you have opened my eyes as to the newest methods for loading. Some things haven't changed much, but a lot of it has compared to 20 years ago. Wishing you much success. You have certainly earned it.
I can't get enough of Erik Cortina... you have been so helpful in the past, present and hopefully in the long future... really really appreciate your videos! Every thing is so simple...
Thanks for doing what you can for the channel! I hope it continues to grow despite the issues with RUclips. I’m sure I speak for many others but we appreciate all the information. A lot better than most tubers out there!
As someone looking to hop into F class I love these videos and all the knowledge. It's cool to learn what I can while waiting for the last few reloading pieces to come. Also someday I'd love to see your new case prep process. Especially because there seems to be so much hocus pocus surrounding the process so it would be nice to hear a no B.S. viewpoint
Keep em coming. I learn something new from every video. Showing your mistakes shows high integrity as well. You gain credibility when you're honest about the good and the bad. Well done sir.
You’re videos are great. I like to watch and learn. My son just made his longest cold bore shot at 1407 yards with his 300 RUM. we are always looking to improve our shooting game.
I like all of the little tips and tricks you throw out! (The shell holder for the puller! Awesome) Always nice to get another perspective, keep the tips coming. Thanks!!!
Yes! The shell holder tip for the kinetic bullet puller was fantastic! I have already passed this trick on to 2 of my shooting buddies and they were also thankful for the tip. Cheers Erik 👍 Also going to try CLR to remove the carbon after my next shoot to see how it goes in comparison. Love your work, thanks for taking time out of your day (and a lot of long nights) to help improve the sport.
I'm really glad you take time to read all the comments and answer questions we might have. I was going to ask about crimping, you beat me too it. Good to know. I've never crimped. Never saw the need for it. Love the your content and look forward to the content to come. The knowledge you're sharing is priceless.
I just found your channel, and glad I did. Got into reloading about twenty five years ago, and a friend gave me like ten to fifteen years of Precision Reloading (I Think) it was the benchrest magazine of the day. Learned all about neck turning etc. and then a wife, change of location and job House burned and all my reloading equipment and thousands of dollars of components went up in smoke. Retired now and have the time to get back into the hobby. You are doing Wonderful work here! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos! Ever get to Lake George New York, think there’s a famous range there.......an hour fifteen south of me.
It's so nice to see a down to earth shooter sharing his excellent knowledge. I'm a sparks (electrician) in the UK and try to get work done to free up shooting time too.
Really enjoy the videos. A lot of RUclipsrs talk the talk but they never show the results. You not only have the experience, but have the results as proof. I have a hard time trusting some of these guys that don't have the bona fides that you possess. Keep up the great work and good luck!
Love this VLOG series Erik! It's like sitting in the shop with good friends just talking about stuff we all love to do. Bonus for us is, we get to chat with one of the best. Appreciate your time and love for the sport!!
I think your doing a good job, I’m not quiet up to your level yet but you do a good job of explaining yourself, when it comes to equipment, I’m a firm believer in high quality, you get what you pay for.... love your videos, please keep them coming bro✌🏼👍🏼
I'm in the process of watching every one of your videos and finding such valuable and new information that is making my learning curve so much less of a chore. Thank you "professor", you are the best~!
Love the content Erik. I've never reloaded before or done any match shooting but would love to one day get into it. Thanks for all the knowledge your passing on and God bless.
Two tips. The shell holder with the inertial puller, and calipers to measure the resizing die, absolutely wonderful. Here's one you probably haven't heard. If I had your gun, your rest, and your ammo, I still couldn't shoot your groups.
I love the "I could too if......." guys. I have shot another shooters precision rifle and yes I shot his properly set up gun better than I shot mine. However I did not shoot as well as he did. Equipment helps your preparation show up more. Love the channel, keep the videos and information coming.
What a small world. I shot with German when he lived in Miami. Great guy his enthusiasm for shooting was amazing. He helped anyone and everyone with the sport. I always enjoyed his writings. The next time you see him, tell him I said Hi!
The daily vlog videos are great. Also liked the reaction to the RUclips reloader advice video. I really like how you explain and substantiate your advice with real world scenarios based on your experience.
Good luck and have fun at your PRS match, Erik! I used your load development procedure today. 6BR rifle that I was getting decent groups at 100 yd. but not at 200. So I worked on the powder charge last weekend and got my best ES at 28gr. Varget. This weekend I worked on seating depth and had 3 consecutive loads that agged at .150" @ 100 yds. on a windy afternoon. Next weekend loading 15 rounds and shooting 3ea. 5 shot groups @ 200. Feeling very confident that your method has me on the right course. Thank you for your videos!!
@@ErikCortina Yes sir. My powder charge, using your method, is .5gr. less than I was using. Hopefully, that difference, plus the seating depth change, will show up at 200yd. Can hardly wait until I get to the range next weekend!!
Erik love your channel, new to long range and just starting loading my own 6.5 creed. I'm slowly following your advise once the rest of my tools and good dies come in. Keep it up
Thanks for another great video. I appreciate you taking the time to make them. One word of caution when you are riding down that loading ramp to half position its a tighter fit to get the round in there (drop), It's more important to watch your fingers when you work that press lever than your camera for us here.
I reloaded ammo when my kids were young, they all wanted to help, I had one knocking out primers and one seating primers I had another one measuring out the powder and then I would pour the powder in then another one would do the seating of the bullet. My kids have all been raised around firearms and now that they are all adults they all have firearms. Teaching responsible gun ownership, I feel is one of the most important things other than Jesus Christ that we can teach our children, love your videos, keep up the good work and good luck on your next competition
Thanks for putting together these videos, I really want to see you do a brass prep video from start to finish. Every detail, new brass, fired brass volume sorting, neck turning, full length sizing, triming, bumping shoulders, concentricity, Thanks in advance, Evan.
Please keep doing the vlogs. I like them a lot. I have picked up so much information. I appreciate you taking the time to share. I can't wait for the F-class reloading series. Thanks!
Love all your videos. My attitude is that there is no such thing as bad info. Just sometimes inaccurate info. I only hunt but everyone loves accuracy. 1 other thing about the bullet puller and shell holder trick. I discovered it back in the late 70s after losing a piece of the rubber band setup (which used to be a keyring setup) anyway another trick to save the bullets is to glue a foam earplug in the bottom. Works great especially for lead tipped hunting bullets. Keep up the good work.
I followed your recommendation on the Wipe-Out Patch-Out. Just waiting on delivery. I personally say thanks for sharing your information! Not many pros would.
Eric, thank you for your vlog and videos. Enjoy it and learn a lot, especially not over complicate things. Appreciate your time and knowledge. Good luck with the PRS.
I really enjoy your content and appreciate the time you put into passing down the info that most of us wouldn't know. Great work! Oh btw, that CLR trick is good to go.
Im not new to ammo & reloading but definitely have picked up some tips lately. Was putting some shots through the same hole today!!😁 Great feeling when everything is on point & the rifle is hammering! NO crimping rifle rounds, I could tell you didn't!!
Erik, I caught your comment about the Hornady camlock bullet puller. I have used a hammer type bullet puller, but often the bullet bounces up and is cut by the mouth of the brass. The hammer is also pretty useless for small bullets like 17 or 20 calibers, even some 22s, as the weight is too low, not enough momentum. Once I learned how to set up the Hornady, it is faster and does not damage bullets. A couple tips: #1 Clean the bullet with 90% rubbing alcohol or acetone to give a good grasp of the bullet. Then you need only light to firm pressure on the lever to clamp the bullet. If you let the bullet slip, it scratches and ruins it, so first clean it! Also, clean the collet. These solvents dry fast and do not leave any oily residue. #2 After the bullet comes out, push up on it, it will then release out of the collet and fall in your hand. #3 If there is not much flat bearing surface showing on the bullet, you will not be able to get a good clamp on it. For example, like the deep seated 204 Hornady factory cartridge. The minimum is at least 0.060", maybe 0.100". Eric, your interviews with Jack Neary, and other great shooters have been fantastic! Thanks so much.
On the kinetic bullet puller you can also use the 3 piece collet after you pull the first bullet, just put the bullet up against the mouth of the pulled case and slide the collet onto the round needed to be pulled. The collet will work both ways. I don’t like to use the shell holder trick if I have high primers that need to be pulled.
Keep up these great informative videos, you have shown some methods that i haven't used and definitely are a game changer. I would like to see you make a video on how you clean your barrels.
I use a Dillon 550 for all my precision cartridges. Tim MilkOvich showed me that you can load Precision cartridges with Dillons .Thank you for your info it has helped me out in the pass .
Erik, thanks for the Video's. i know it takes time away from your family and reloading and work. i spend at the least 1 hour per day in the morning reloading and prepping brass for 5. Love your pod cast,s Eric. And thanks again for the tip on the caliper measuring 4 functions
Used the shell holder in my bullet puller today. Works great

You answered my question before I even needed to ask.
Love your channel.
You have helped me tremendously i shot a .080 5 shot group out of my RPR 6.5 yesterday. One hole group was awesome. Thanks!
