    Nice review on the KX 040-4 I just got a quote from my Kubota dealer on this machine your review was the best I’ve seen so far.

    I just recently purchased the same machine. I can tell you based on experience running other machines in the same class these machines hold their own. I am so happy I bought this thing. The capabilities continue to amaze me. I too looked at the 057 and I’m glad I didn’t buy it. The added weight is great on site but moving an additional 2500 lbs adds some problems. I bought new as rates were less than used and my money is better spent elsewhere.

    Great video. Thanks. I’m leaning, like you, on the 040. Lighter machine / easier transport on a trailer behind my Tundra is my main reason. Machine has plenty of power for working my property. I’m going to need steel tracks vs rubber. I’m up here in Alaska where we have ice and snow 5 months out of the year and rubber tracks are completely useless on ice and snow.

      Careful towing with a Tundra, it's not rated for this machine on a trailer. Minimum 3/4 ton needed. 14k trailer will be maxed out. Be safe out there

    • @jpdunamislodge
      @jpdunamislodge 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@alanackermann7799 yes, your right. Toyota does not make a big enough truck. I am looking at a Chevy 350 or a non CDL 5 to 7 yard dump truck to haul around with.

    • @alanackermann7799
      @alanackermann7799 8 месяцев назад +3

      @jpdunamislodge good call on getting a heavier duty truck. I drive a Tundra as well - I wish it was able to do it legally, has plenty of power. What I found out is that any dually one ton has a GVWR of 13,000 lbs or more. This puts you over 26,001 lbs with the 14k trailer - CDL class A required. A 3/4 ton or non dually one ton can sneak under the 26,001 lbs but that's about it. I bought an F-650 with a GVWR 25,990 lbs which is under CDL but had to get my class A for towing the KX-040. Hope this info helps with your search

    40 v 57 is absolutely the decision…..and trailering 10k lbs v 13k lbs is exactly what you said. I have multiple properties and transport is a must when you spend this kind of money. Thanks for video👍

    The 40 is about at the max of a 14k trailer, especially if gravity tilt.

    Seat has 2 height settings, if you pull up on bar raise seat and drop. Gives your hands a better position to joysticks, they are very low compared to others

    Given that you’ve had it about 8mos now do you regret not going with the larger machine or are you happy with the 040-4? I’m in a similar position. Thanks for your video!

    • @firstgenfarmer9809
      @firstgenfarmer9809  11 месяцев назад +3

      I’ll answer this way…
      The 40 has done everything I’ve needed it to do around my farm. Digging drainage, stump removal etc. However, if I had it to do over I’d probably get the 57. The 40 can be a bit tipsy and I wish it was wider and heavier.
