I am just getting into this line of work starting a new outfit over here in B.C. and was on the fence about the size of the 040 as well as type of mulcher but man your videos are so helpful and shed a lot of light. Going to go with this exact setup most likely now LOL. Really appreciate it man.
This is my ideal set up. Just gotta find the funds to purchase it. My wife has already given me the go ahead on it. My local store has one set up with a fecon muncher on it sitting on their lot. I keep going by and looking at it.
If you had removed one bolt and the pin for the cylinder, you could have lowered the gate to get to the side you needed to. Sounds like it would have been a lot easier than taking all the other hoses off. Removing that pin and putting back in is not hard at all. Just a thought,
Next time if your hose breaks with the flap fully open, just disconnect the piston from the door and let it down, you get full acces without opening the back door and disconnecting 3 hoses
Here is a dumb question, but maybe you can help since Kubota/Napa/carquest can’t. I have a 2016 KXO 57 and I’m trying to hookup a blue diamond Extreme duty mower. I’m almost there. But I am having trouble with the flat face hydraulic couplers.. what is the size male needed for the bypass.. we have tried Oring 10 and the factor plug is misleading them all.. lol Great videos and I appreciate any help
I know this is a matter of opinion but would you recommend the mulching head for a home owner who has 80 acres of woods to clear out the underbrush or would a more frugal (half the cost) mulching head work. I have no desire to go into business...I just need to clear out the underbrush in my (currently) unmanaged forest. 1) would the 4 ton excavator be a good tool and be able to maneuver in and around dense trees and work on slopes...over a skid steer and 2) is the FAE a "must-have" or would a more frugal option be sufficient?
Hey there. I'm thinking of adding the new BL1/EX/VT to my Takeuchi 257FR. Will the unit you have deal with brush/trees that have been piled up? We have been pulling trees and bush with the excavator and piling it. Was going to rent a 12" chipper, but I think the mulcher would be way quicker and easier if it can handle that situation. Thoughts??
No actually the Mulcher does very poorly when the trees are already cut. It pulls the whole tree through the head because it’s not being held back by the roots.
If I was you I would send my guys back with the 8 ton with mulcher and a bucket so they could move the bolders to the edges of what you mulch. It would just make it faster next time and leave it cleaner looking.
So your running this on a stock 40 with no mods. How does the case drain work. What operates the doors. Do you need the extra hydroelectric line. I want to copy your setup on a 2022 model. All help is appreciated thx
350/040 is easy. What about 550/080? NSC, IFTA, IRP plates, logbook, cab card, trucking insurance, all scales, whatnot else.. or there is a way around it?
To many hidden rocks in the thick brush I imagine. I thought about one on a skid but it would be a waste of money with the rocky ground in most parts of Eastern Canada.
nah most platinum's don't look like that, you have some protection over the back seat...... Who does that???? plus the back is way to clean where is the tidy tank with a filthy hose thrown in the bed?
Personal preference I hate the bed cover , I am I flatbed and toolbox/transfer tank guy If bar oil grease , diesel get on the bed that’s wood it just treats the wood, you got some nice equipment to work with and set it up well , it’s just old school vs milineal generation

Im in the process of getting 040, thanks for the video, great video
A video on how you clean the machine up would be cool. Have the same machine and loving it.
So much for seeing the machine in operation!,,
My '057-4 operates fairly well with a RockHound 30EX, but I've wondered how a fixed-tooth machine would operate. Thanks for another good video.
Like the prelude 😁👍

Could you have faced the tracks down the hill to reach that part that was farther away from the road?
Nice!!
That's what my Platinum looks like!
It would be a huge help if you can take a video of where your case drain line on your KX040 is routed into your tank!
If anyone needs to know where to route a case drain line for your kx040 just let me know! I can post a video for you!
@@CarlosHernandez-zr5cz do you have a link to this video I would like to know

How do you get those jobs I live in the states and just bought a kx57-5 with a multcher head.
Thanks for the info on the KX040-4 , for the light stuff would you consider using a lighter unit for reach on this machine ,Fred
You mean as far as a head?
What you guys think of Diamond Mowers? I mainly see FAE or Fecon.
Mind to share the cost of the FAe I. The video+?
Does this have the variable transmission pump on the fae?
For future reference crack the other line on the same ram let pressure out and the gate will drop down
Thanks man
Can you just hose out does excavator cans to clean them out.

You called it a “diverter valve” on the boom, that is where I need to find size/thread male needed

For home owner you could get away with a less robust Mulcher
@@workplaytv Thank you. How is the excavator working on slopes?

Would you mind giving me your thoughts on the FAE head vs the Torrent, I am considering both and just curious as to why you made the decision. Thanks!
Isaiah Burch is go FAE all the way! On big reason is the VT motor
Any idea how many acres per hr you can do with that rig? Assuming similar growth to what this vid shows...
Could do an acre or better a day
How big of a tree will it cut

Cadre drain is run to tank. The door a electric/hydraulic the Mulcher as a selenoid on it

Is there a reason you use a excavator with a mulcher instead of a skid steer with a mulcher?

Any idea where the best place would be to buy kubota paint?
Tundraguy19 should be able to get it from most auto body stores. I’d say you could get the paint code from a dealer
damn I thought you was at least gonna use it some.
Would you recommend this for a good starter setup?
Yeah it would get you going. If you have your cdl I’d say go for a 6 ton. Would handle the head better
