    I remember learning about this and telling it to my family members and they laughed at me saying that I'm making it up because the phoneme [e] doesn't exist classical Arabic. Took me years to convince them with evidence from the recitations of well-known Arab Qaris. Anyway, I'm curious about that first Imala. It sounds like the stressed "schwa" sound. Either way, that word is a unique word in the Quran because it is prounounced with the unique phones that don't exist in other Arabic words. Thanks for making Arabic easier for us non-Arab speakers. May Allah reward you for your hard work.

    • @Aresydatch
      @Aresydatch 9 месяцев назад

      Old-Quranic Arabic used Imala and many more Quranic features and it exists in Levantese dialects (As a Decendent of old Arabic) and deleting the Final Ya in some cases (Northern Najdic Arabic has this feature)

    • @standardpashto
      @standardpashto 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@AresydatchI see, I didn't know it much more common. Thanks for the info. Speaking of Levantine Arabic, I know it has word-initial consonant cluster, did the Old-Arabic or one of the dialects or sub-dialects have this feature? Has it been preserved in the surviving dialects of Saudi Arabia?

    • @Aresydatch
      @Aresydatch 9 месяцев назад

      @@standardpashto It's not a feature of old Arabic, but it developed in different Arabic dialects, like in Najdi you can say Qhawah instead of Qahwah

      Wow, thanks. Najdi Arabic seems to have a very interesting phonology. Recently I've learned that pronounces the word کلب as [t͡salb], this alveolar affricate isn't found in other dialects.

    Mashallah, I am Spanish and this literally sounds like an "E", so it is easy to pronounce, in fact we have more issue with the mild H, because we are used to pronoune the hard H, kh... and in the dialect i speak here, which is catalan, we have the softer H, the one we make with Jonathan for instance. But we don't have the mild H in our words in any case, so we got to get used to that sound...
    Also the deep D and T and whatnot...

    Fathah=upper lines اَ
    Kasrah=bellow lines اِ

    Is it a must to apply imalah here?
    I knew about this and once, I heard my father recite this ayah without applying imalah. I tried to correct his recitation, politely of course. But he said, we can read it with or without imalah. Since then, I don't know which is right and how I should tell my father if he's mistaken.

      other qiraat say it as majraaha, for example Qaloon. So both ways are fine. But it is more proper to stick to one recitation. So if he is reading hafs an aasim, it is more proper for him to apply the imalah here.

      Thank you for the information. I agree on sticking to one recitation. I'll try to tell him all this when the topic rises up again.
