I hadn't gardened in a few years . One year I started back and 30 tomatoe plants 6' to 8' tall. They where loaded , I had really worked on the poor soil before I planted
No it isn't, they are fused together from the very beginning before it was pollinated, it's impossible for them to join or grow together as they're growing! Have a blessed day!

And i had people impressed with my 4# tomatoes i was growing last year.... i love growing the big ones, but i don't like how much you can't eat from them from parts being rip, parts not ripe, and parts already rotting all at once.
It wasn't until the last 8 years that the world record stayed at less than 8 pounds for some twenty some odd years,my first year growing I grew a WR of 8.61 lbs. and that was only the second time in 20+ years the record had been broken.
Ive been told that is called "catfacing" Ive also been told they're not worth it because you cant eat a lot of the fruit itself. I think they look weird. Im not really interested in growing that type. A bunch of tomatoes in one. I want fruit that is beautiful and tastes good. I will probably pinch off all megablooms till the end of time. I dont want my plant wasting energy on something that wont be edible for the most part. I hope i dont come off rude. Im not trying to be. I think its interesting for sure. I wanted to see what the inside looked like 😂 Congrats on your goal met 😊 thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I appreciate you more than you know!
I have some heirlooms that grow that way, 3 segments max though and beautiful fruit. The lines in the peel are mostly superficial in mine. If an earwig gets in one of the nooks I'll have to cut away a bit more lol
do you grow giant bell peppers as well? or sunflowers? If you do, a video on your tips and techniques for those would be great! Also along the lines of woodworking, a video on your favorite design/build on a rabbit hutch would be great!
Thank you so much for posting this gentlemen. You two did a great job on the video. My hat is off you kind sir! As always you have done an outstanding job. What is I'm sure is now easy for you has the rest of us working our fingers and backs to the bone. You are the Master of the Giant Tomatoes!
It grew that big because of the variety and growing technique which also includes the amendments that I use. I've grown around 15 world record tomatoes in the last 7 years and nobody else has ever grown more than one in a lifetime, not bragging but just to give you an idea that it wasn't just luck that it happened 😁 blessings to you!
Hi Dan, I am just wondering if you do sell any of your smaller giant Tomatoes? I am looking for seeds in the 6 lbs to 8 lbs range. If you do, please let me know, I would greatly appreciate it! 👍😃🍅
Yes! You can buy them from our website sutherlandorganix.com Many of the tomato seed listings do not have descriptions yet, but the numbers in the listing's titles denote the weight of the tomato from which the seed was harvested.
@@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork well yes. they would if you grow them better than ....do you sell your seeds? doesn't have to be your record breaking tomatoes which you may not want to share...mygreathanks and blessings
Yes that's the official record, since I've registered 3 world records I've since decided not to register any more,I think I grew 10 or more last year that were all bigger than the official record of 11.65 Faust. And I harvested all of them on the same day😁 nobody has ever grown more than one WR in their lifetime !
Do we know what variety this was? I had a tomato last year that fused and became 1 massive tomato! Weighed 24.23 Oz!! The ones your dad grew would’ve made a giant pot of tomato sauce!

Maybe your dad has heard of a big yellow really big meaty tomato. The meatiest i've ever seen, called"MEAT BREAKFAST". I've been searching to find a seed Co. Who sells those seeds
The tomato grew from one large blossom. Dad has grown a number of world Record size tomatoes, all coming from large blossoms. It's not possible to somehow join multiple tomatoes or blossoms together to make one large tomato.
I believe dad has grown over 10 new world record tomatoes in the past few years, (he was the record holder listed on Guinness for a while) and Dad's last 17.15 lb. record wasn't officially verified, but Guinness notes it on their website. The video is ample proof. God bless! 😊
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork thats amazing I do good just to keep things happy and healthy...occasionally I like to experiment...maybe some day I'll try giants...who knows.
Unfortunately no, I haven't let any of my pure 9.44 genetics go out,but I do have plenty of some unproven crosses that may have 9.44 in them which I do send out.
@@Artem_gardenThat would be too long of a list,I have thousands of seeds.any seeds from tomatoes that weighed less than 9.44 lbs.and unproven crosses thatmay have the 9.44 in them.
Guinness rules are that the tomato flesh has to be fused together, not multiple tomatoes in a cluster or on the same stem. In the video I show how the tomato flesh is one continuously fused fruit all the way around the entire circumference. This tomato started as one single large circular blossom. If it were multiple tomatoes somehow joined(this is impossible) then it would have started out as multiple blossoms instead of one. Growing the largest fruits/vegetables is not a beauty contest. The biggest/heaviest is the goal. Have a blessed growing season! 😊

It doesn't really look like a single tomato, looks like a conglomerate of tomatoes that just grew together, like a chimaira.

Yes it's one tomato since it is truly fused, if not fused it would be disqualified and would be considered multiple tomatoes.
