As if I wasn’t unhappy enough with American public school lunches… even the bread is made fresh and crusts removed…so envious of this lunch 😂
Only pussies remove bread crusts.
Since COVID, school lunches America got worse. Better bring own lunch

Milk thats outdated, A thin dry burger patty on plastic buns with a nasty fake tasting cheese , A fruit which was really good, Some tots or a biscuit that was hard like a rock
The best thing you were able to get that tasted kinda fresh was a sandwich but it was ham i think they had a tuna one but they put very little in it and also they would always run out of them
Hmph. I was born in1964. Our school lunches were amazing.
Yet they use that disgusting processed cheese, though.

@@mayank7848 No. It's for school lunch.
It's so very impressive the balance between nutrition, creativity, and work that goes into making something that we take in the US as a simple thing, and unfortunately a less than quality meal. I am blown away by the consideration and quality of these meals made in Korea, I would love to eat something like this now or when I was in school.
I guess nobody read the description? These are specialty made for an acceptance ceremony of a high school. That's probably a once a year event.
@@TheFlyingZulu right, and a bakery made these-not the school cafeteria 😂 since it was for an acceptance ceremony, it is most likely some high profile school for the elite.
@@TheFlyingZulu You’re so right. It’s annoying, but many would rather just criticize the US then actually put any thought or research into what they’re posting.
Yes! Look all those conservative substances, all that massive gluten and all those super trans-fat (literally, a strong kind of heavy fat) are in those sandwiches! Lol!
Yessssss ij said that. Good Nutrition at any stage of a child's growth is so important for positive classroom outcomes
One thing I do admire about the Koreans is the amount of care and love they put into their food. It may not be the fastest, but everything is done carefully and lovingly. You're bound to taste that. It just feels different.
food doesn't have to be fastest. Even when done slowly its the nutrition and quality of the food that matters.

If you want to talk about unhealthy bread, look no further than Macdonalds. I guess you are the type of person who is simply never satisfied with anything. The south korean govt focuses on this one since they believed that the students are the future for their country, they really have an allotted budget for this. Although its not the same for every school, just like if others will have lobster others will have crab or shrimp. It's all good though.

It's because they have student spending minimums. America needs to ban private schools.
I'm surprised they don't use a machine to slice the bread like they do in uk bakeries. Got to admit they do look good 😃

There is actually a machine that can be used to slice tomatoes too. Cuts stupid tomato slicing time in half.

In the golden sticker at the end it says handmade so i guess it is pretty much intentionally hand-crafted lovingly and is a selling point.

This certainly isn't anything like current school lunches in US.
Yall should really take a look at yalls food yall
What next, folks xD
I'm from the UK.... and well, I was in school throughout the 90's. I was having flashbacks to the stuff we were served. We did have different dinners but most consisted of a grey mash with some kind of meat product with watery gravy and green sludge. Even though it looked horrible, the chocolate cake with pink custard was one of the best things ever lol.
I think I was about 8 when my mom finally decided that I should make and have a more balanced packed lunch rather than paying for some of the dodgy stuff that came out of the kitchen lol.
The idea that this is any better than American food is such a fallacy. Look at that fake plastic cheese.
This is infinitely better than anything I ever had for school lunch. I'm suffering from a severe gut disease today, and I'm pretty sure it's partly due to the horrendous food I had as a child. Korea really understands how to treat its children. They deserve nothing less than this.
Would Pro-biotics help you? Maybe a little apple cider vinegar too.
@@ericbond5276 Unfortunately, those wouldn't help much. While eating healthy food does help a bit to improve the situation, I need regular treatments with proper medication to prevent it from getting worse. Thankfully, I'm doing okay with that for now.

I love watching Korean school lunches get made. It's nice to know that there are kids out there getting such carefully made lunches. US school lunches were horrible.

@@Laufield Yes. I am in my fifties now. I recall all of the school lunches being gross. In high school the lunches were gross, high in fat and carbs. The salads were just too nasty to eat.
Ahh, so much caring work to feed the children and look how hygienic they are.
I worked for 4 years at a bakery that did something similar to this. At our store, we sold cakes, bread, cookies, sandwiches, danishes, pastries... you name it, we sold it.
During that time, we also made the lunches for a primary school in town. I'll be honest, this video makes the preparation of school lunches look very satisfying, very assembly-line like, and very controlled... in actuality, it is difficult to acquire consistently good looking produce (lettuce, tomatoes) all year round. It also takes a LOT longer to prep tomatoes that this video makes it seem (I can't tell you how easy it is to get cut fingers after slicing a few dozen tomatoes), and I am honestly SHOCKED that they cut the bread by hand - that takes SO MUCH TIME. I would think they'd want to save time by putting the loaves through a bread slicer.
Anyway, the last thing I'll say is that this video doesn't address the very REAL issue with food allergies. IDK what sort of arrangement was made here, since it basically appears as though they made 400 identical sandwiches, but it is soooo time-consuming when you have to make note of how many student's meals need to have a substituted item, or an item excluded...
I'll be honest - this video feels unrealistic to me because it's demonstrating an incredible standard that I never got to experience. When I made sandwiches, it was a SOLO assembly. I prepped all the ingredients, I did all the slicing and dicing and assemblage and packaging. It was tiresome work... plus I had to take care of customers and make sales simultaneously. It wasn't a very well run shop, and I heartily admit it was severely understaffed for the amount of work I did. Hmph.
In this video, they appear to have enough people for the job, which is great. I'd have loved to work there. T_T
ㅇㅈ i never cut my finger but when i worked as a prepatation cook i cut my fingers so many times

To be fair, these sandwiches are being made in a professional bakery/cafe - a business who has been hired to make them. As the title indicates, the sandwiches are for an opening ceremony - so a special occasion. @@vivieecaroline8094 ofcourse! You know because of this issue since I'm a child I dreamed of starting my own school. 🤭
Same tho . Saying this from Malaysia . I rarely buy food from canteen
The thing is that every school lunch and dinner are free in Korea.
Kindergarten schools send the information of meal to the parents everyday.
Nope! lunch and dinner's price is included in fee. They are not free
Dinner?? If you mean the students staying in hostels, definitely everything is provided. And parents just have to pay in their school fees.

Yeah..that is what I mean..
Looks so fresh I never saw meals like this until college
That's a whole meal, fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, and starch. Amazing.
Wow, I wish our schools here in the United States would serve lunch of this caliber🍴😋🥗
They did in the 1980's when lunch ladies COOKED from real ingredients. Now at the school where I work it is all processed crap. Reheated. As a taxpayer I'm furious.
@@happycook6737 Yes, agree. I started kindergarten in 1985, when lunch ladies came to work at 5am and started cooking
They dont care about us enough to do that
@@happycook6737 Not were I grew up. We had a lot of mystery meat and fried food in our school lunches in Indiana in the 80's.
US school lunch really sucks. I remember I hated pork burger as kid. It was so gross
Its not a school lunch, it's just a bakery that makes sandwiches that local highschool students buy from.
In South Korea all school lunch are free for until high school. It is a government duty
when i saw those guys cutting the slices of bread, i felt for them... then i saw them cut the crust off too........... this is true dedication. respect.
i‘m impressed by how hygienic and clean the kitchen is. 👏🏻
@Blue Sky ohh trust me, i‘ve seen worse😂 places where they don‘t even use ANY gloves
I wonder how they make that "Whole Grain Sauce". This is amazing. I wish I had lunch option like that at my school!
I think it’s whole grain mustard sauce. there’s recipes online or you can buy at grocery store.
It is Dijon mustard.
This lunch is pretty healthy, minus the bread. It is also a very large portion. I would cut down the size.
That said, American school lunches are a joke. It would be nice if they found a way to shift around a budget to provide higher quality meals for students. It is probably more important than any ONE subject. The kids are being poisoned at a very young age with these huge, carb-heavy breakfast and lunches. My daughter's school has confetti pancakes every day for breakfast. It's patently absurd. They could eliminate P.E. entirely and just use the money to serve nutritious food. Running around isn't going to keep anyone healthy if they are obese and nutrient-deficient.
@@bradleyboyer9979 write the school board and tell them you'd prefer your child be served tofu or cardboard since it's an healthier alternative "insert eye roll"
@@bradleyboyer9979 Minus the bread?
I hate to break it to you but bread is actually good for you. America just doesn't make good bread; everything is white bread laden with sugar because it's cheap.
As soon as you start looking at bread that contains grains and other nutrients packed in, it's no longer nutrition-less, and if you stop adding sugar, it isn't so carb dense.
Used to make sandwiches like this instead of with spreads like peanut butter or jam, and it is a genuinely healthy option.
Good job putting those sandwiches together! Looks really tasty 😋
Love the amount of fresh ingredients, and they use plastic cheese 😂😂😂😂
I wish you can prepare for me all my meals hahaha great job ❤❤❤
That looked absolutely delicious!
Ah look so delicious to enjoy🤤😋❤💖
Iam pretty sure this must be some expensive private school no public school has this much level of quality and cleanliness in it...
Everything made with care- Looks yummy👍🍴💜💓
Muchísimas gracias por compartir con nosotros!!! ❤️💞💖
Adding a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato is why South Koreans are the giants of humanity.
I cried when they put in the pumpkins seeds, they really living there life out there with those lunches. I wish I could have one of those sandwiches 😭
We can make our own since they provided the ingredients. Wish they detailed exactly how they make their whole grain sauce and mustard.
