That PLO kit is sweet, my best example of a Type 3 is my Hungarian AK55, pretty much the only way to an authentic T3 these days now that the PLO stuff (and even old Bulgarian kits) is long gone.
Thanks much for watching & trying hard to come up with new stuff to talk about. The fact its 200 degrees outside right now does put a bit of a hold on more shooting for the moment though! hehe
Dear Mishaco, here’s the one gun that doesn’t have its in-depth history featured on YT, and it’s a special request episode because the history behind that gun is super interesting and fascinating. That one gun is the FN Minimi, commonly known as the M249 SAW, and your best bet is just to feature a semi-auto one, so we can one day have an in-depth history episode of the FN Minimi.
Its cool you throw the valmets in there to keep people informed on it most people have never heard or seen one. O yea been meaning to ask you where did you get those hundguards on your Bulgarian??? What are they called?? Id like to pick up a set for mine
First here my guy! Chinese 56 is my favorite of these then the Valmet. I’ll tell you right now I plan on dropping whatever takes to get an original Type 56S at some point.
It will never get old comparing the same old rifle if all the internal parts are basically the same ,different wood or bluing swing swivel doesn’t really make them a different variant,it would be the same as to M4s but they have different stocks
Like any other wasr it's about individual quality you could run into a huge piece of junk or it might be a nice shooter but the 9mm is definitely a mutt I would be careful spending money on that
@@jackcraven7979 I've got the pak-9 which is basically the same, a Romanian 9mm ak pistol. I've had good luck with mine and u can't beat it for the price of $550-600

It stands to reason that AK variants from different nations would have variations in the wood furniture. The machined or stamped metal components are more functionally critical in material and tolerances. The wood furniture components are less critical and local sourcing, manufacturing and finishing would be far more efficient. These are made to be mass produced military firearms so I wouldn’t discount the Chinese guns as being inferior Russian clones rather they are more authentic Chinese military guns.
When KFS/PT created the Legend, their goal was to make a Russian style gun more than Chinese. One little piece of evidence for this is the markings on the rear sight. They are Soviet style and not PLA. Not a big deal but i do like pointing out little tid bits of info. The Legend isn't inferior in terms of quality, it is imply not an exact Type III copy....and that's totally ok. Neither is the SA93.
@@misha5670 I acquiesce to your superior AK knowledge. Actually I know very little about AK’s and am constantly confused by their designations. Your channel is great in illuminating that stuff for me. Currently I only have access to the Chinese Type 81’s built by Norinco for the civilian market so that is the limit of my personal exposure to this type of firearm but I enjoy shooting those.
lol if you only knew me in life, you would know why that is kind of funny. I'd be happy to meet you and talk with you, and happy to do a handshake, but..I have a thing against touching. If "Russian Red" is a story for another day, I'd love to see a video dealing with just the furniture. Shellac vs oil, laminate vs hardwood etc...
That's definitely possible.
I really enjoy these AK videos, especially when you cover the early imports. Keep them coming!

I love AKs. Wish I had started collecting way sooner. I don't think I could pick a favorite. Really like that M78 firing clip you rolled in there too
For milled guns i didn't put on the table in this video, i looked for shooting clips of them so they would get some inclusion too.
You showed a WBP Jack milled pistol. Would converting that to a rifle be too involved?
Might want to just wait to see if a milled rifle gets imported?
