Justin, I am a self-confessed bag freak... got WAY too many, and wasn't really happy with any of them for EDC. Stumbled on your review and was gobsmacked--my EDC also includes a Mini (v6), and I looked at the bag's measurements, then went on a mission. Couldn't find a new one, but found what appeared to be a nice used one in Japan. It was a bit pricey, but apparently the demand is huge. Bit the bullet and ordered it off of ebay. I received it four days after the order was placed... and it is in PERFECT condition... not a scratch-stain-wear spot-etc. Dumped my EDC into it, spent a few minutes rearranging things and the damn thing is my perfect solution. The workmanship is stunning, the materials first-class, the design is brilliant, the strap is SUPER comfortable, and it carries like it was an original part of my body, all without that severe techno-militaristic stuff being hawked on social media. Yes, the top zippers aren't waterproof but I don't care... I'll stuff it under my rain jacket. This bag is a work of industrial design art. Thanks for introducing me to Porter-Yoshida!!! (I also found a new blue Porter-Yoshida Tanker Travel Case for USD145... also a clever bit of design when you need something smaller). I look forward to your future reviews. Thanks again... G
I have the exact same bag and color for my M too!! I picked it up back in 2019 in Tokyo and been using as a camera/travel bag. They have a couple of stores around Tokyo, at least as of 2019, that has lots of stock you can touch and test out before buying. I absolutely love them.
I have a Porter sling bag I got in Japan 2017. It's still doing a fine job and carries a Mirrorless DSLR and decent sized zoom. Top quality and it looks so cool!
I stumbled across a Porter store when I was in Tokyo earlier this year. I didn’t know about the brand and picked up a shoulder bag that looked cool. Turns out, it’s an amazing bag and I wish I had bought more!
I’ve been using a Wotancraft ever since I saw your review of it quite a long time ago. I actually bought two of their bags and they’ve been my favorite sling bags for work and for my camera gear. With that new bag, if the strap ever fails, you can cut it a few inches from the bag and sew in a metal ring to attach other straps.
Assuming you used my affiliate or else I’ll put a photography curse on you :). So happy you did their products Dale, as I know I’m a huge fan. For non camera bags I’m loving these Porter Yoshida bags.
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
Thanks for the review, ended up picking up a used one of this model because of this video! Was messaging the person in Japan I got it from (ebay) and they said they still have their tanker after 20 years!
i literally just bought a porter camera bag of the same size as features in your vlog. bought it from fukuoka japan. absolutely amazing. they are always out of stock.
Just got a brown 2way heritage briefcase from them (because I thought it looked nice, 0 research); was pleasantly surprised to find out it is absolutely outstanding!
Thanks for the review! I have their Tanker Daypack in Black and it’s has been my EDC. I used to have to go to Japan to purchases these as they are really difficult/impossible to find here in the States.
Hey, Justin. I noticed in the main compartment section with the plastic zip pouch, on the opposite side your bag has two stash pockets ( 3:40 ). The same bag on Porters website has a different setup with credit card slots. Do you know if your version is an old design or a newer design for this bag? The photos on the website only show this section with the blue bag but doubt it would be different from color to color. I much prefer the layout as it is with your bag; I feel like credit card slots are pretty pointless in a bag these days.
You are right Jason, I just double-checked for you and you're right, mine doesn't have credit card slots and the one on the website does. I bought mine at a store in Hong Kong, here is the link hk.shop-porter.com
@@AskMOTT 😁 I have about 5 Porter Yoshida bags (backpack, shoulder backs) so far and they're growing. You're not alone. My fav are tanker and smoky series. Easy to be obsessed with them with their quality and craftsmanship.
i recently bought the Porter Shoulder Bag S , do you have the same issue with the front pocket zippers, one is smoother than the other, the left one is more sticky 😢 did you also noticed that?
Thanks, I enjoy your bag videos and that's a brand I'd never heard of. I bet the dark blue looks great as well although I doubt I'd ever find them in Thailand. For my light EDC non camera dedicated brand bags I favour Mystery Ranch, lightweight, quality material, proper zippers, lots of pockets, colour variants and very modest pricing. Easily adaptable for camera use with suitable inserts. The Ska and Indie models are great sized EDC, 1 camera/2 camera options. Take them within my main bigger bag for everyday use when travelling.
@@AskMOTT I'll keep an eye out for them thanks. There is also a specialist camera shop in Bangkok I use that used to stock Wotancraft but they seem to have stopped unfortunately. Import tax on the higher end brands like Wotancraft and Billingham is pretty horrific here.
Cheap bag from Decathlon. I specifically googled the name - it's called Forclaz 8619465. Small, lightweight, extremely comfortable and durable. Been with me all over the world.
@@AskMOTT I wouldn't worry about what you call it... but what others call it. ;) That said, I have a selection of man purses myself for various EDC configurations.
I'm torn on this topic. I think buying fakes is morally wrong from an artistic perspective, but at the same time, the sky-high prices are equally morally questionable. After much deliberation, I chose kislux to buy bags... Perhaps the best luxury goods are things that have nothing to do with money and material things.

Actually Porter did release a camera bag. I’ve it. It has dividers inside and it also has camera straps.
How do you like it?
What is the name of camera bag series?
my fav bag. got 1 back in 2012 and still rocking it today. actually yours is the small version tanker but always sold out most of the time.

Hard to find here in Vietnam too, not even used. Hong Kong is a good spot for it.
