Game: Dayshift at Freddy's 3
Dave’s dialogue about Jack luring them further into the flipside makes me wonder, what actually would’ve happened if Dave didn’t speak up? How would the Henry confrontation go? It makes me kinda sick to think about possibilities.
I bet if they went deeper, 1 of the phones or (especially) Blackjack would notice Jack's strange expression, and either they would all fight him, or Jack would take them all down at the end

@MortyTheRedGuy he wouldn't. But who said that Henry can't still talk with Jack. If he could do it in the bad ending, I bet he could let him open the door to his prison on the flip side.
Jack would let Henry out, they would both escape, and Jack would continue on killing kids before soon killing DaveTrap. Similar path, different story.
I find it kinda cool and neat that Dave mentions that "it wasn't even a kid it was an infant". The fact that Dave says that and sounds almost disgusted by Jack makes Flipside Dave sound like that part of his soul has standards on kid murder.
Dave was always against the whole child murder thing, the only reason he did it is because Henry gaslit him into thinking it was a good thing and a thing they needed to do to achieve ""THEIR"" dream. It wasn't until Henry decided to play Operation with Dave's body (scooping out his organs and parts of his frontal lobe when he's anesthesized) that he started asking less questions and more obediently followed Henry's every whim.
Hell, the only reason he still kills kids today is because he wanted to fulfill Henry's dream, at least what he thought it was, tearing down the Fazbender company.
Still an awful guy for letting himself get manipulated so easily into killing children

literally the only part of the games that made my stomach turn. poor dee. dave is right when he says 'what kinda fuckin animal-' and its interesting to see LEGACY using the exact same manipulation tactics as henry when dealing with dave (we did it together, etc). probably one of my favorite rare routes
oh and in response to the question, honestly i dont think either could really be classified as the 'real' jack. blackjack barely behaves like a person and jack is malleable due to his soulless nature. like dave said, i think dees brother died a long time ago, but its up to the halves what to do with themselves

Jack and Dave are a complete contrast to each-other in life and death when you think about it. In life, Dave killed kids without a care in the world, but after he dies his soul wants to totally erase all of that. He is genuinely mad and cheated when Jack kills the kid. Fredbear couldn’t truly bring back Jack Kennedy. He tried to save his sister when he was alive, and now as a soulless zombie, decimates what’s left of her soul. DirectDoggo did such an amazing job on not just the game but the characters lmao
it just clicked. dave saying he will give "jack" nightmares, and in the evil route (i think, my memory is bad) you get flashbacks to when jack's sister died. hes givin jack nightmares!
This is probably the most emotionally difficult part of the whole DSaF series for me to handle. In response to the question in the description, no, I would not say that orange meatsack is Jack anymore. Blackjack is the real Jack, the one who died in a springlock failure. At this point, Jack's reanimated corpse is just that, a soulless pile of shit. At the very least, I would consider the Evil Route's ending to be a punishment to the player for choosing the wrong path. *You've messed up so badly that even the narrator walks out on you.*
It makes the Godred Ending feel significantly less uncomfortable, no joke. Even killing Davetrap seems less visceral, since at least in that ending you can perhaps say that Jack's being swayed by Henry. This decision, and how quickly he switches to that godless persona, is leagues worse.
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 I think the most terrifying part of the Evil Ending is what might happen after the game itself ends. Henry tells Jack that they will show all those "cattle" the Joy of Creation. With a new physical vessel for Henry to inhabit, this can only end badly for the rest of the world.
Is this referring to Jack in general or just Jack in this route?
Dave’s speech at the end here, I’d say, is almost on par with Peter’s interrogation into Legacy Jack from DsaF 2.
Dave knows he can’t win, but he knows he can make Jack suffer somehow. He will pursue the orange into whatever land he has fled to. It his Jack’s destiny, and it is his.
i like how dave was actually nice to dee to some sort.
if you're talking about before the fight against Jack, then they both agree that Jack is a Big threat and should be taken care of.
any other time though, it's because 1. he's dead, so there is no point in fighting. and 2, when he realizes that Dee is his sister, he immediately regrets it or feels highly guilty for killing her (with Henry)

Personally, I’d say that orange Jack is, in a way still Jack. He very much seems to have the same memories and personality. I’d consider him a clone pretty much.
I see this Jack as the dead corpse that wants to follow Henry's Legacy. even if it means killing the ones he loved
Regarding your question, here's my headcanon take on Orange Jack:
I think he is merely a sentient, impulsive force of will, and without a soul to maintain his own consistent morals, goals or even personality, he does whatever comes naturally and is unknowingly a puppet to influence. As such, I like to think that the Canon Jack sticking to Fredbear's promise and still feeling like he is Jack Kennedy is due to Dee and Blackjack's continuous guidance along the way keeping him grounded. The many amoral Neutral ending Jacks that ignore the promise have no external influences and are either godlessly impulsive or driven by other unrelated goals (like Mula, Godred, Cocaine, etc); the Gnarly non-Legacy Jacks are just motivated by wanting to be with Dave because he seemed like a cool guy in that Safe Room.
But Legacy Jack is a whole different beast: he similar yet opposite to Canon Jack in that he is also very grounded and consistent in character and motivation, but instead for saving children as Jack Kennedy, he is gradually and steadily becoming more like Henry. Important distinction: Jack is not being possessed by Henry or anything, and Henry's soul is indeed destroyed for good in the end, but his *influence* from within the void before his Canon defeat molds Jack of the Legacy timeline to slowly become more and more *like* Henry. Recall that before defeating him, Henry said that he already "leaked into your world" and in his dying words said that he would come back. Henry himself does not come back as he was Canonically destroyed in the Flipside which exists between all timelines, but his Legacy--Legacy Jack--does "come back" to continue Henry's will in that timeline.
I always like villains and bad guys, so this is 1of my favorite "boss" fights in the game
the music slaps, you're fighting against the people you've known and loved, you're basically the boss itself with that high hp, and -you killed your "little" sister- after that, you still get the cutscene that has your little sister in it. :D
all of that just so you can join Davetrap and soon kill him. Hooray :D

The scary fact : Legacy path in DSAF 2 is canon, and it affects DSAF 3 directly. It affected Fredbear.
honestly its kind of a mess
explanation is: the flipside is a realm *between* timelines, and fredbear, being the one who basically monitored the place, would also probably be a being that lives between timelines, instead of being one in each different one
when jack killed fredbear in the evil ending, it affected the entirety of the flipside. we can't just outright say that the evil ending is the canon one mostly because of peter. peter seems friendly with jack on the flipside, which wouldn't make sense if it was the evil routes, and you also live in peter's house, and jack seems to miss him a lot from the old pictures interaction there

Awhile back I had a thought. “What happens if you kill dave first?” So I modded it and gave jack 999 ATK power, and the only thing that happens when you kill him first is that he has no dialogue and the evil route went on as normal.

Man I really wish there was a special ending where you can bring Dave back in as a LEGACY “animatronic” but not join him. Just like the old fazbenders.

Like the bad ending in dsaf 1 and 2 is genuinely funny af, but ib dsaf 3 its just fucked up like theres little to no comedy, its not like dsaf 2 were jack can act normal he's just genuinely evil.
