HOW TO COMPLETE THE BRING SALLY UP CHALLENGE ● MY PROGRESSION

  • Welcome everyone! After having tried this challenge for the first time last summer, I realised how tough it was. In this video I train to be able to complete it...
    I have received some comments about 'not doing the full range of motion' with my push ups. I have completed the 'full range of motion Bring Sally Up' challenge as well and have found that the push ups in this video are tougher. This is because when holding the pushup on the 'bring sally down' part of the song, you can lock your shoulders and lats in at the bottom, giving you the opportunity to rest whilst holding and therefore making the challenge easier. It is harder to hold the pushup a bit higher up as you have to engage more upper body muscles to keep you there. Try it yourself and you will understand what I mean! :)

    Guys before you try to do this challenge, pay attention to your technique first. This guy doesn't do a correct push-up, it makes it easier for him to get a better time in the challenge, but it's basically like cheating, and it doesn't build the muscle the same way, also it might lead to harm.
    Also, this idea to let other groups of muscles work is not the idea of the actual challenge that's proper cheating.

I do a lot of sports so I just do the challenge once a day before I go to sleep. Any tips of how I can help myself achieve the goal?

    • @jobacusmovies
      @jobacusmovies  3 года назад +3

      That's a great challenge to set yourself! Try to keep in mind that once you have achieved a new personal best, you can always push it that extra bit and add another 5 seconds to your time the next time you try it. If your muscles ache the next day, give them that day to rest and then try again the following day. Also try to vary your pushup technique as I mention in the video, it helps to give certain muscle groups a tiny bit of rest as you do it

    if u continue to do pushups like this pretty soon you will have pain in your elbows and shoulders.
    bring your palms more towards your feet and try NOT to flair your elbows out when u do the pushups, insted try to make a 45 degree angle or less between your body and your arms.

      Cheers for the feedback mate, I agree my form at times is a bit dodgy in this video. I think it also comes from trying to vary my pushup technique throughout the challenge to ease the pressure off some muscle groups, but also just the struggle of getting through 3 mins 23 of pushups. I have never had any issues with my elbows or shoulders when doing pushups though...

    • @jobacusmovies
      @jobacusmovies  3 года назад

      That's a great idea from your dad ahah. The best thing to do is to keep trying it over and over again, and every time try to hold it for an extra 5 or 10 seconds. It's a mental battle as well as a physical one. Parts of your body will ache though, so a day or two of rest is sometimes necessary. Also, try to change your press up technique as I explain in the video, that helps give certain muscle groups a tiny rest during the challenge.

    • @lucashenriques4242
      @lucashenriques4242 3 года назад

      You cant do it in 2 weeks, impossible, it requires a lot of endurance. It's 30 push ups with a lot of time undertension, that means you should be able at least to do 60 normal push ups.
