This statement uses a broad brush, which is never fair or true. Whatever happened to that old fashion kindness? There a great sinder today. And, although he's been gone for several years, now, George Michael was phenomenal. Maria Cary is amazing as are several other of today's singers.

But today, white, latino and Asian kids who grew up then, are posting today EXPRESSIN THIER LOVE AND GRATITUTDE TO THESE LOVELY TALENTED BLACK GIRLS.. That was a profound shift in the realm of what was possible in America.. It was and is important for America to see the beauty inner and out of these gals.. their music and television made it possible. Today we know these gals are a national treasure.. then we knew they sang our humanity.. all of it.

I agree with you totally Dave. We had less material things than exists today but we had more enjoyment out of life. The girls were feminine but modest, boys had more mechanical knowledge than they have today, the music back then had far more variety than it has today. I'm 73 now and I wouldn't want to be any younger. I'll just keep all my memories of life back then even though I can't remember what I did last week.
