This is one form of calligraphy that I'm a complete beginner at doing. I have used a reed Qalam a good bit, but that's all. I'm wrapped up in learning to read and write hieroglyphics right now, and it's pretty challenging but a lot of fun. I'm learning how to use both a reed brush pen and a reed stylus or nib pen, though the Egyptians copied the reed pen from the Greeks. This is very interesting, though. When, or if, I learn enough about hieroglyphics, I'd like to try this.
