So glad I came across this video. This is absolutely amazing. I have severe PTSD to the point where I’m really limited on the films I’ve been able to watch lately without triggering attacks, but having something like this to filter out triggering scenes would make a huge world of difference for me to be able to enjoy movies again!
This worked well for the GoT scene but poorly for the Star Trek. While it's great to give the customer the choice, I would worry that some films cannot be cut this way without losing flow crucial to high-quality composition.
Yeah, I think the exact shot of that Briton in exposed innerwears would've been enough. Also, as someone who've already watched porn (and loves the softcore ones, should you know), that scene which is a "nothingburger" for a TV-14, or perhaps even TV-PG network programming - somehow suddenly seems erect-able.
Amazing. They accomplish exactly the same plot but with so much less of the painful, harrowing moments that we can all imagine anyway. I am so grateful to them, and I think it really expresses good things that we can enjoy classic entertainment tastefully.
How exactly is it illegal ? Seems no different the. What fcc does on network tv or what cable tv does to its movies .... personally I wouldn’t watch a movie like this . I prefer to see it the way the director intended it to be like . But I think people deserve the choice . As long as they don’t force everyone to watch movies like this it’s all good .
Here is a video that explains what a VPN is. If you use a VPN & set it to the USA it will let you watch anything that’s USA specific because your internet will think you are there. ruclips.net/video/yCWNRzoQGis/видео.html
So, like what would happen if I just scrolled down the whole length of the censorship options and just clicked everything? Would the movie be like 10 minutes long, would the war scenes just show a bunch of guys staring at each other and waving their guns to make each other disappear like a bunch of wizards (like in that Hacksaw Ridge example, which didn't feel natural at all)? Also, what about sexposition(sex+exposition), when characters explain crucial plot points during a scene that most people would see as inappropriate? Will a big black screen with a couple of words explaining what the he'll happened juat pop up out of nowhere, cuz that's the only feasible solution I can see, and it ain't a good one.
I tried that with BlacKkKlansman and 397 filters took only 11 minutes off the runtime of 2h15m. I was expecting worse. I didn't actually watch the movie, so I can't comment on the experience. I had the same question as you, so I thought I'd share the answer.
It makes no sense if you want to see a movie based on war-related events. If you are afraid about your son watching some gunshots in movies, better wait for the children to have 18 instead and explain them about the history instead of cutting all movie and making it difficult to understand. Lol
Anil, this video contains clips from several films; which one are you referring to? You can watch movie and TV shows filtered by subscribing at www.vidangel.com and then watch on our website or app after connecting your streaming accounts. Thanks!
Why would you skip a sex scene when you are watching a movie with your kids? Why would you skip the scenes in StarWars that have JarJar in them? Why does it matter what people watch, or how they watch it in their own home? The filters are all optional. You can turn any, or all of them off.
...yeah, I would filter the fight scene in a lot of anime if I could. The fight is mostly magical nonsense that just looks cool without much strategy, logic or meaning. I just love the character and other things beside the dumb magic fight If anyone's offended by this comment, please filter it
Well I find that there are many times where I want to watch movies with my kid but unfortunately it is rather difficult to explain the whole time that this isn't real this is all the movie these people are actors blah blah blah because of some of the language or scenes so fortunately for something like this you click what you don't want to be seen said and it sort of eliminates most of that and turns it to something that is appropriate for both viewers simple as that
The video filters would be better if you just showed a black screen and filtered suggestive language or sounds from the dialog. When this becomes impossible, just show white text describing plainly what happened. Your current demo makes your product look bad.
You me idea is horrible, I would totally hate seeing a black screen or having to read in the middle of a movie, what are you taking about? Their demo is great!
I don’t watch violent shows/games etc. Yet I had no problem adjusting to working in surgery. To suggest that watching violence somehow “protects” us from the “real world” is ignorant.
Hey Jed! Cool story. We suggest that parents and individuals can decide what is appropriate for them and their families. If you want to leave the violence in, you can do that! If you simply want to remove one instance of graphic violence, you can do that, too. VidAngel let's you watch however the *bleep* YOU want to.
It’s too bad these filters suck. I was hoping there would maybe be some blurring or something like that, but no, you just ended up cutting up the scenes. That is some of the worst editing I’ve ever seen.
That one wasn't too bad, but the only way things like that could work is if they are filmed in such a way. If you change the existing material and you aren't a professional, it won't flow right, which this one still doesn't, at least not enough for me.
As someone with severe ptsd to s*xual things (demisexual so I'm not totally against it or s*x repulsed or anything) I have to try this. I can't watch a lot of things due to this topic. I get such bad panic attacks from it. I can't even click on a movie that has it in it, without extreme anxiety, even if I know I can skip it. Qnd the whole time I am dreading the part, even if I do plan to skip it. I have autism so I have pictures of a character that I like, that is a romantic relationship, and due to this trauma I am super protective over him, kind of like a child, so it is even worse with him and when he is exposed, so I fear trying to watch things even with him as well This also applies to games, songs, etc. So, I miss out on a lot. There has been so many songs I've loved that I can't listen to due to this and games I'd love to play, but can't. Maybe I'll find something for that as well, or something like this will be made for it. Idk.
This is how you create children who cannot exist in a world untailored. Essentially adults who're incapable of functioning in an imperfect environment. Easy times create weak men, weak men create Hard Times, Hard Times create Hard Men, Hard Men create easy times.
These movies aren't the real world. They are works of fiction from one person's imagination. Pornography at an early age can be psychologically detrimental. Pretty much any trauma at an early age can be life changing.
"Hacksaw Ridge" was a depiction of a US Army medic who elected to have no firearm in the face of deadly consequences for his choices. It was a movie which celebrated one man's willingness to honor his faith but also service his country despite the great risk to his life. Tailor that now to a US Army medic who elected to have no firearm. It was a movie which celebrated one man's willingness to honor his faith but also service his country. Such erodes the value of the film, the story, and the legacy of he who risked death, which makes it easy to see why Hollywood is fighting back against such censorship.
Furthermore did you know that strict parenting stunts children's ability to develop self control and responsibility. Essentially when one's behaviour is governed by fear of the overseer, any absence of the overseer precedes previously undesired behaviours.
Here are some studies from the other point of view, pointing to the effect of violent media consumption on increased aggression, in both adults and children. These findings--centered around psychological schema and scripts, particularly with desensitization at early developmental stages--concur with your statement that Hard Times are what produce Hard Men, including later criminal activity and spousal abuse. They might add that a fully exposed world is what constitutes Hard Times for children who are still creating lifelong attitudes about what is socially beneficial behavior.
