2024 Extreme XC Round 3 - Shewdog Showdown

What a weekend with Extreme XC racing at Shewdog Showdown in Universal, Indiana! The morning didn’t start how I wanted with my camel pack thinking I didn’t need water to my quad not wanting to start (other than being bump started). Got to the line and decided I wanted to face backwards to see all the pretty racers behind me. I heard the “10 seconds” and the green flag was flying (thank you Lara Beth for letting me know when to go). I started the race second to last in my class and knew I had to push myself. Made a pass on 2nd place and knew I had to catch 1st place. Came through the finish still in 2nd so put my head down and just let the machine take me where it needed me to go. Caught up to 1st place and finally made the pass. Ran P1 the rest of the race, just putting more distance in between us. Had a great battle going on with Jacob DeLattre from passing him to him passing me for overall positions. The track was awesome and I rode the best I have all year. I felt great and the quad held up other than me clipping a few trees and killing it once. Thank you Hailey France for helping me bump start it. All in all it was a great weekend ending it with P1 in class and around 13th overall. Time to get the machine worked on before Round 4!
