- The plaintiff sold some furniture to the defendant, and they agreed the defendant would pay half up front and the other half up to 60 days later. The plaintiff says he hasn’t received the rest of the money, so he’s suing. The defendant argues the furniture had scratches on it and was falling apart. He doesn’t think he owes.
Plaintiff is so disrespectful and he is the type of guy that would swear to you the sky is green when you’re telling him it’s blue, what a con artist.
It's amazing how she was judge until he got mad.. Then he couldn't stop saying "miss" which he did on purpose to disrespect her... Smh.... Ol cheap raggedy looking furniture 😂
That's not true at all. "Ma'am" was his second word, right after "well."

One thing for sure two things for certain court TV will always teach you to not buy used items and if I do to have it in writing, have pictures, or have a contract!
If the plaintiff was selling the "floor model" or "floor display" and not a new one from the factory, that should have been on the receipt. He keeps poor records.

You DO NOT accept delivery of damaged and dirty furniture. You have to SIGN OFF when it get's delivered. DUH.
The plaintiff definitely seems like a machismo. He did not respect JM because she’s a woman and he disregarded the man’s wife to insinuate the thought of “let me talk to the husband.”
Small, small man. Pathetic.
100% .. I almost never pull the 'misogynist' card (like ever), but it's very obvious here. When she didn't let him talk over her you could see the resentment in his eyes lol. His girlfriend/wife probably wears a leach (assuming he's not gay).

People buy old furniture all the time. They are called ANTIQUES. But they have to be OLD OLD. Not junky old.
If JM was a man, the plaintiff would've addressed him as "Sir". He wouldn't have said, "Hey, buddy...".
He wouldn’t have even said sir. He would’ve said your honor. Don’t be dense
It’s possible he could have said sir
And you can’t compare “Mrs” to “Hey Buddy”
She has said before that she doesnt mind being called ma'am(the female equivalent of sir)
She just didn’t like the plaintiff
This show & JJ taught me to ONLY buy if at all possible from businesses that are established, have clear refund & exchange policies and clearly written warranties and if possible generate digital itemized receipts that are simultaneously and automatically emailed/texted to me & stored in company's database for both our records so i don't experience the consumer headaches in many of the episodes of this show
I learn so much by watching these court shows. I even educate my family and friends on things.
@rosej5029 🤷🏾♂️ So basically you texted all that to say that you only buy your shit from reputable businesses and retailers. I’m the same way especially when it comes to anything automobile related. And I’ve also gotten to the point where whenever I impulse shop or am in any way unsure about my purchase, I’ll use cash.
Even when there’s a clear return or exchange policy, I’ve been been in a situation where a merchant either took too long to refund my purchase back to a credit card after a return or it’s been held for over 30 plus days.
I use to have a job that req’d me to travel a great deal and I use to have to swipe my personal credit card for incidentals whenever checking into a hotel and some of those places would hold my deposit for over a month. I found that even if the room is reserved with a company card, a guests’ personal credit card is sometimes used to cover the incidentals; Talk about a huge inconvenience.
Lastly, always stay 10 steps ahead of hotel companies because some places have unwritten or not clearly posted policies for their guests. That said, whenever possible have a special card or other form of payment reserved exclusively for travel. I once booked a hotel room through Expedia for personal travel and inquired about a pet policy beforehand. Ended up walking my dog right after a shift change and the night manager tried to charge me for traveling with a pet after the fact. Called me to the desk and started explaining herself while simultaneously opening my guest file to charge the card on file. I let her finish her conversation and politely walked back to my room.
I figured out what she attempting to do beforehand and had locked my credit card. By the time she realized I was already back in my room. Received about a million alerts from the bank that night because she kept trying to run my card. I was able to lock one card for the duration of my stay without being inconvenienced because another one was being used for expenses; FIXED HER SNEAKY ASS 😂

I worked for a liquidation company and customers would call angry stating “this is not what I ordered” but they don’t ever READ the description of the product and play the victim. This guy probably didn’t read the sign on the used furniture he bought in store.
The defendant say it's not what they ordered but technically it is because it's used furniture so they didn't order anything. There's just to many people out there trying to get something brand new at used prices, it doesn't work like that. If you don't want used furniture, don't go to a used furniture store.
She is not going to let disrespectful punks come in and try to be boss, she is the boss like it or not🤗🤗🤗🤗my favorite judge
Plaintiff doesn’t like to answer to women. Hence the constant interruption and calling of “Miss”
I’m thinking the third “Miss” will be strike three and he’s OUT!!
I love when the defendant is very critical of the plantiff and addresses their claims specifically with logic like at @5:50 . I wish there was more of that on these shows.
They both are liars and yet again they always manage to find each other …
Plaintiffs voice was hurting my throat
I believe the defendant accepted the display furniture but with stipulations that the damage would be repaired so he gets a lower cost. He said himself he was supposed to repair it. If it was supposed to be brand new as he claiming now. Why would he accept repairs. The plaintiff should've did paperwork better and took pictures after. The defendant accepted it back so called damaged again and he should pay for it. He could've refused it. Fair judgement the plaintiff wasn't being shady the defendant was trying to get out of paying. The look at the end was of embarrassment because he still have to pay half.
Harvey is that guy who says everything people are thinking 😂
Cmon JM has to know what its like to be in a furniture store....unless she sends a PA to buy for her 🤷🏾♀️ No one ever assumes that the showroom model is the product thats going to be delivered to them. If you are going for that then you're most definitely getting a showroom model discount because everyone and their mom has been testing that furniture out
He look like the father off Bebe kids 😅
RIP Robin Harris
This Plantiff seems like a wheeler dealer who when the guy came in he said oh this is the floor model but yours will be new and thought he could just get away with it
The plantiff looks like if Prince sold used furniture....Purple rain sofa and patio furniture.....
7:50 It's funny how she gets offended when someone calls her miss, she will correct them with the quickness, but there are times when she calls them honey, sweetheart, or dealing that's not disrespectful. She was called out on this once and she threw the guy out of her courtroom.
She gets offended because "miss" has been used in a derogatory manner previously to deminish her authority.

JM is right, these two really deserve each other. Because the plaintiff was definitely trying to pass off used furniture as new, his little "Business card" comment made that very clear. That's a shifty way of answering if I've ever heard it. There are tons of reputable people who deal in used furniture, and it's always very clear on the contracts that you're getting USED furniture. The very reason the plaintiff kept agreeing to fix it is because he knew he tried to pass it off as new. People who sell used furniture to people who KNOW they bought used furniture don't go out of their way to fix it two or three times. They say, "You bought used furniture, you get what you get." That's the very reason why the plaintiff doesn't itemize his wares, because the differences in price would make someone's alarm bells go off that something is used vs. new and he doesn't want them to be able to tell.
On the flip side, the defendant was trying to get ALL the furniture he purchased for half price just because a few items were damaged. He was basically trying to get out of paying the entire second half of his contract because some items that were a fourth or a fifth of the value of the contract were damaged. JM said it, an UPSTANDING person would have said, "Come take back the table, chairs, and server, and tell me what I owe you for the stuff I'm keeping," but he was trying to get something for nothing. Really, a USED dining room table, chairs, and a server are not worth $1000, but that's on the plaintiff for being shady.
This is the case of a shady dealer and his shady customer, and they both ended up losing something in the end, which is exactly what they deserve.
The plaintiff is so annoying. If you come into the courtroom and call JM "Miss," you might leave unhappy 😁
Plantiffs voice is bugging me. I am gonna have to turn on CC and read along.
😂😂 me too

Thought it was just me voice sounds like he got a lil grit in it
Judge always says the same thing “if I was a man would you call me buddy”🤣🤣🤣 she be tripping 😊
Miss goes to conclusions about someone almost immediately. Maybe that's why they call her miss instead of judge.
JM gets upset with miss, but is is okay with mam. And okays for her to say honey or sweet heart! The power of the black robe!
The defendant resembles r&b singer Billy Stewart.
Everybody has a camera these days. I always take pictures of the furniture that I want to get so I know what it looks like when I bought it and what it looks like when they delivered it. If the stuff looks different from when I bought it at the store then I tell the delivery guys that I am not accepting it because it is not what I purchased.
Oh, it was bobble-heading the plaintiff was doing. I thought he was trying to pull a Jedi mind trick on the judge.

In my opinion, I don't believe the plaintiff intended any disrespect by addressing the judge as 'miss.' I find it a bit of a stretch to equate it with something like 'buddy.' Nervousness is common in a courtroom setting, particularly on national television, and people may not always choose their words perfectly.
While I understand the importance of courtroom etiquette, it's a learning opportunity for everyone involved.
Of course he did and of course you would side with him. I think the educated Judge knows what she is seeing and hearing
@@Catloudan I think it often comes down to a person's upbringing. Personally, being from the South, I tend to use 'ma'am' quite frequently. I've noticed that even Judge Milian doesn't prefer that form of address and has shown frustration when litigants use it. However, I don't see anything inappropriate about 'miss,' 'mister,' 'ma'am,' or 'sir.' If she wishes to correct how she's addressed, that's understandable, but I believe it can be done in a way that is respectful and not confrontational.
He should have listened to his wife lol 😂
Does anyone else feel like the Plantiff has a attitude problem? lol
No . He doesn't
He just seemed frustrated that he couldn't tell his side. I agree with judge Marilyn 99% of the time but I felt very frustrated for him in this one. He was polite but just made some mistakes because he was stressed and agitated

The defendant knew furniture was a deal even used but didnt realize how dinged the table was although he got a ton of furniture on a low budget . Then tried to walk away with a balance.

He went to a liquidation store to buy furniture and wants a discount, he gets the discount and then bitches about a used dining set that he knows he picked out from the floor because it was cheap. He should have had to return the furniture and paid $1500 of the remaining money owed.
Who cares that she's being called "Ms." She's okay with some calling her that until she gets annoyed or frustrated with the litigation. The defendant lies through his teeth the whole case, which is why he started laughing & smirking. His family ruined the furniture & he thought he could skate by taking pictures of how it looks currently, he would've never accepted that furniture in that condition
DOUG!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
His business is new and used furniture, he picked out the dang furniture. He knew what it looked like before picking it. The guy wasn't going to pay for what he ordered. Thats why they are in court. And yes people can destroy furniture in 6 months. The defendant knew he got away with it.
He can destroy furniture in 6 minutes. Let his kids jump on it with shoes on and it gets damaged. You're right.
The table was total garbage & had a piece of furniture been delivered to my home in such poor condition I would have demanded a refund, but that's me as a very picky type of individual. The furniture store was given the opportunity by the defendant to fix the piece of furniture yet still, a month later the table is in no better condition & at this point I would have demanded a refund & been down with your business. Did anyone else notice how heavy Douglas was breathing after bending down to pick the paper up for the judge? I thought the guy was gonna pass out because he was breathing so hard. LOL
Yesssss I heard it at the verrrry beginning he sounded winded..hope he is ok !!
Serious question, is saying Miss disrespectful? I didn’t think it was…..ppl call her ma’am and it’s never a problem so what’s wrong w/ Miss?
"Miss" is disrespectful, so is Ma'am actually, when addressing an officer of the court. It should be "Your honor" or even just "Judge" is fine. "Miss" is used when referring to a young woman (not in court), but sometimes the tone of the person implies disrespect. Judge Milian seems to be more flexible with the ma'am greeting, UNLESS the person addressing her is acting misogynistic, lol. Then all hell breaks loose. :)
How I thought I had a speck on my phone but it was a mole on the plaintiff's nose 😅
Hilarious that people in the audience think you shouldn't buy furniture older than 5 years. Older furniture is almost always built better than new stuff. I guess they have never heard of the concept of antique.
I swear this judge never lets people get out a sentence she never lets people tell their full side of the story, she will let them start talking and then she immediately interrupt them, how many times did the plaintiff try to get a sentence out to defend himself and she didn't allow it.
Did anyone else notice/wipe a speck of dust on there screen? Repeatedly?
Why does she act so confused

It's like saying, sir. What is her deal with this word? She must have been beat as a child by someone named miss.
Trust No one with that hairline 😂😂😂
I mean who needs all of this furniture at one time? I guess I'm not normal, but I'll buy it from Amazon when I have the money to afford it.
Miss and buddy are not the same forms of address. Also, the judge talks too much. Let the litigants express themselves in their own words WITHOUT constantly interrupting them!
I am not a judge but if the plaintiff is getting back the furniture. Why is the defendant paying one thousand dollars? He already paid 2000 and what she had for evidence was not itemized... Make no sense!
I like it better when he calls her "Miss". That's short for "Mis-trial".

I automatically blame the customer in episodes where the business doesn't have a contract. The customer did it to themselves in cases like that by making it their word against the business & forcing the judge to do some "rough justice" with no proof.
