The longing in Sophia's eyes "you spoke to me and everything was different!". Heartbreaking scene.

I don’t care what anyone says, I still think this version of the film is one of the best.

My favorite thing about this scene, is actually my own interpretation.
When he turns to Sancho and shouts: "My Armor and My sword!"
I don't see it as him demanding his armor and his sword. I see it as him proclaiming that Sancho, his friend is his armor and his sword.
And you cant convince me otherwise.

I find this to be super inspiring. something to keep you going when you just want to stay in bed, and hide from the world. So good to see it again. Thank you for posting.

I read the novel El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha back in high school and I thought it hilarious...this re-imagining is beautiful in its own way...I tend to separate the movie/musical and novel in my head as I would have a humorous fiction and romantic love story

Right? It's so... odd but lovely when frankly "other" cultures transmute a more brilliant meaning to what they've gathered from ones own mother country or elsewise. _Like how East (and West, really) Asians kill it on our classics (Chopin, et al)-- even true with the Hardcore genre, imo._ I mean, Kurosawa was an intellectual motif due to 1st-2nd generation film students like Spielberg and crew loving his work. Kurosawa wasn't actually hugely famous in his home country. Kinda medium popularity; more that he's successful abroad and that's good. *_Because he's mostly obsessed with Shakespeare, himself._* A great example of this is his twilight epic RAN which is even better remastered. An amazing retelling of a King Lear type tale.
But I agree, the tears of a clown are far more beautifully bittersweet (this musical* _to be clear)_ and it's a beloved re-imagining from its inception. I think they even did a version of this in Star Trek. Twice. _Star Trek-- Patrick Stewart and later with Scott Bakula._ It's just a crowd favorite. You can trot it out every 5 years and people will smile and maybe try in their lives for another month.

Sophia Loren. What a beautiful heart and soul. And the most captivating eyes.
    What a treasure.
And we just lost Raquel Welch. Maybe God willing I will see them again.
