I was a hospice volunteer for years, I would assist families when there were things that they needed! Connect with a local hospice, they will provide her with so much support and help with all things that will make the time you have left, quality time! They will support the children, and follow your family for a year of bereavement support. I hope the hospital can connect you, if they do, consider letting them help. It is at no cost. I try to remember the recent good parts like Sarah talking about the zoo and then the cabin getaway. Sarah in front of a beautiful river with family. One of the good parts is you Josh. She always has you and your eyes looking back at her filled with love, and ready to spring into action with help. Sarah is always in my daily thoughts and my heart goes out to your family.

Me too. It’s funny, Sarah and Josh are “virtual friends” but this is killing me. Crying that grunting, snotty kind of tears. I buried my nephew just before Christmas last year. He was only 47 and he too had aggressive cancer in the brain. It’s not right. ❤

I lost an ex partner to cancer. I took time off work for 6 months to nurse her and be there for her everyday until the cancer won and she passed away. That was three years ago. I have been watching Sarah and yourself (and other channels)!as it helps to process everything that happened and also I feel a connection to those who are on this terrible road of cancer. I know how stressful it is. You’ll do a great job with this unfortunate hand that you and Sarah have been dealt.

No disrespect, not here and not now, but it’s unfair being old and losing someone to cancer, being old and losing somebody young or being old and losing someone old, it’s innocent, we know what was meant, but if it was a choice, of course the old would take it for the young.

He knows what's going on, just not where it's at... And to see his face light up, care free for a moment when we dropped him off and he started playing with other kids that are going through this same cancer bull crap... I can't, Sarah wouldn't approve, and in the long run I know he'll appreciate it... We'll have things calmed down by the time he gets home, have a plan figured out, and will be able to focus on mom, and less on the chaos of figuring it out... This is a hard call, and I agree with you as well... No good/right answer
@@pogfam that’s true! Kids still need to be kids! It’s good to teach them to help and be there and be supportive and realize what’s happening with their mom but they’re not going to process things the way adults do so they still need to be a kid at times through all of this! So yeah, Josh, you have made the right decision giving him a break from it all. After all, we can’t expect somebody as young as your son to do adult work! Just relax. Ask your doctor about palliative care and hospice, because there may be programs and other things that can come in to play here to help!❤️🙏❤️🙏
This is all just so difficult. It's not even as if there's a correct decision to be made here. I believe that, in situations such as this, it's usually best to do what your heart tells you to do and never be upset with yourself afterward. So long as you make decisions out of love and concern for your family's well-being, any decisions you make will be as right as they can possibly be.
@@pogfamyou are absolutely right Josh. Your son has been going through so much. Just because they are kids doesn’t mean that they aren’t carrying a lot of mental burdens around with them in situations like this. I’m sure he can use the break and be and play with kids his age and maybe put all the hurt and stress from home towards the back of his mind for a few days. I am so sorry things have come on so quickly. It’s heartbreaking. You are such a great husband and Father. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Sarah knows that you will always be there for your kids and I believe that is the most comforting thing in the world to her right now.
@@pogfam I agree that's the right decision. Taking Braden to camp will hopefully give him a chance to put the stress of his Mom's illness aside for a brief time. It will be difficult enough for him when he get's back. Keep doing what you think is best for your family.
My dad had been diagnosed with a skin cancer as well as cancer in the lymph nodes a little over a year ago. He also was diagnosed very suddenly with the cancer hitting the spinal and brain fluid. The dr. called it LDM (I forget what that stands for). I've been following you for the past six months because he was so stoic and loving and worried about us that he wouldn't talk too much about the pain. Your channel has kind of served as a guide for me, helped me understand some of the more inner feelings of dealing with cancer and helped me not feel so alone - so thank you for being there for me/other people, even if you don't realize how helpful you are or how many people's lives you touch. Love from our family to yours.
I'm so sorry. I lost my dad to metastatic melanoma in 2012. I'm very sorry for your dad, you and your entire family. Melanoma and LMD are horrible. LMD is LeptoMeningeal Disease.... it's when cancer cells are in the brain and spinal fluid and it's very aggressive, even with treatment. It usually happens very suddenly. I know how hard it is and I'm very sorry for you and your dad. I was my dad's caregiver in his final weeks when we did at home hospice. I'm so sorry.

@@MeenaElise thank you, cancer and everything associated with it is just awful. It's incredible how many crazy complications occur and the other things that can happen like the LMD that you've just never heard of. We basically begged the drs to be brutally honest which is another thing I can't stand....the sugar coating. We really wanted to know the truth, no matter how bad, so we'd know what we were dealing with. All I know is that I've truly learned to treasure every moment with loved ones because anything can happen to any of us, at any time. Every moment is a gift. I guess the older we get we realize that more and more. I hope your dad responds well to treatment and you get as much quality time with him as humanly possible! Make a lot more great memories!!
I’ll be saying my rosary. It’s so mind boggling that it has worsened so fast. I just love your Sarah. Had a conversation with my sister and was telling her how Sarah signs off by saying “Make good choices”. That may be the best sign off on youtube….it’s perfect. Thank you Josh. Hugs to you all. ❤❤❤
But it also hasn't helped that she's been off any sort of treatment for quite awhile. Remember she had to be off treatment for 30 days per the NIH guidelines and then they couldn't even take her because they weren't sure what was going on in her brain. Plus melanoma does become very aggressive fast, especially with no treatment. It just breaks my heart she's doing so poorly when all she wanted was more time.

Shedding tears as I watch this. Josh you're so so strong, and even in your own pain, your thoughts are all about the kiddos and keeping control of the situation as best you can. Hi Josh, same thing here, just a few day earlier. We said goodbyes yesterday to my sister. What really helps is to remember that 29 (29 years old she forever will be) is long enough. She was diagnosed at 21 for the first time. And every day ever since was a gift, a big luck. She did SO much between 21 and 29. So grateful. Your family and the channel Meredith Ferreira made me feel not alone all these months. Sarah and I exchanged information about treatments. I am standing by you even though I am across the globe from you.

Many graduates from hospice care but from my experience, hospice makes it comfortable for the patient and comforting for the family. Hospice will regulate medication and care. Medicines will be delivered, equipment delivered, council, and volunteers to clean and massage the patient. These persons are pleased to help.

I cannot help but think of the families of those who passed in this recent submersible accident. They lost their loved ones instantaneously. I buried my nephew just before Christmas last year. He was only 47 and he too had aggressive cancer in the brain. It’s not right. ❤

I lost an ex partner to cancer. I took time off work for 6 months to nurse her and be there for her everyday until the cancer won and she passed away. That was three years ago. I have been watching Sarah and yourself (and other channels)!as it helps to process everything that happened and also I feel a connection to those who are on this terrible road of cancer. I know how stressful it is. You’ll do a great job with this unfortunate hand that you and Sarah have been dealt.

He knows what's going on, just not where it's at... And to see his face light up, care free for a moment when we dropped him off and he started playing with other kids that are going through this same cancer bull crap... I can't, Sarah wouldn't approve, and in the long run I know he'll appreciate it... We'll have things calmed down by the time he gets home, have a plan figured out, and will be able to focus on mom, and less on the chaos of figuring it out... This is a hard call, and I agree with you as well... No good/right answer
@@pogfam that’s true! Kids still need to be kids! It’s good to teach them to help and be there and be supportive and realize what’s happening with their mom but they’re not going to process things the way adults do so they still need to be a kid at times through all of this! So yeah, Josh, you have made the right decision giving him a break from it all. After all, we can’t expect somebody as young as your son to do adult work! Just relax. Ask your doctor about palliative care and hospice, because there may be programs and other things that can come in to play here to help!❤️🙏❤️🙏
This is all just so difficult. It's not even as if there's a correct decision to be made here. I believe that, in situations such as this, it's usually best to do what your heart tells you to do and never be upset with yourself afterward. So long as you make decisions out of love and concern for your family's well-being, any decisions you make will be as right as they can possibly be.
@@pogfamyou are absolutely right Josh. Your son has been going through so much. Just because they are kids doesn’t mean that they aren’t carrying a lot of mental burdens around with them in situations like this. I’m sure he can use the break and be and play with kids his age and maybe put all the hurt and stress from home towards the back of his mind for a few days. I am so sorry things have come on so quickly. It’s heartbreaking. You are such a great husband and Father. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Sarah knows that you will always be there for your kids and I believe that is the most comforting thing in the world to her right now.
@@pogfam I agree that's the right decision. Taking Braden to camp will hopefully give him a chance to put the stress of his Mom's illness aside for a brief time. It will be difficult enough for him when he get's back. Keep doing what you think is best for your family.
My dad had been diagnosed with a skin cancer as well as cancer in the lymph nodes a little over a year ago. He also was diagnosed very suddenly with the cancer hitting the spinal and brain fluid. The dr. called it LDM (I forget what that stands for). I've been following you for the past six months because he was so stoic and loving and worried about us that he wouldn't talk too much about the pain. Your channel has kind of served as a guide for me, helped me understand some of the more inner feelings of dealing with cancer and helped me not feel so alone - so thank you for being there for me/other people, even if you don't realize how helpful you are or how many people's lives you touch. I'm so sorry. I lost my dad to metastatic melanoma in 2012. I'm very sorry for your dad, you and your entire family. Melanoma and LMD are horrible. LMD is LeptoMeningeal Disease.... it's when cancer cells are in the brain and spinal fluid and it's very aggressive, even with treatment. It usually happens very suddenly. I know how hard it is and I'm very sorry for you and your dad. I was my dad's caregiver in his final weeks when we did at home hospice. I'm so sorry.

@@MeenaElise thank you, cancer and everything associated with it is just awful. It's incredible how many crazy complications occur and the other things that can happen like the LMD that you've just never heard of. We basically begged the drs to be brutally honest which is another thing I can't stand....the sugar coating. We really wanted to know the truth, no matter how bad, so we'd know what we were dealing with. All I know is that I've truly learned to treasure every moment with loved ones because anything can happen to any of us, at any time. Every moment is a gift. I guess the older we get we realize that more and more. I hope your dad responds well to treatment and you get as much quality time with him as humanly possible! Make a lot more great memories!!

But it also hasn't helped that she's been off any sort of treatment for quite awhile. Remember she had to be off treatment for 30 days per the NIH guidelines and then they couldn't even take her because they weren't sure what was going on in her brain. Plus melanoma does become very aggressive fast, especially with no treatment. It just breaks my heart she's doing so poorly when all she wanted was more time.

There is no logic to life being as cruel as this to such a beautiful family and no matter what please know that we love you and would give the world for this not to be happening to your beautiful family.

May I make a suggestion that, if possible, Sarah record a message to each of the kids. Hi Josh, same thing here, just a few day earlier. We said goodbyes yesterday to my sister. What really helps is to remember that 29 (29 years old she forever will be) is long enough. She was diagnosed at 21 for the first time. And every day ever since was a gift, a big luck. She did SO much between 21 and 29. So grateful.

Many graduates from hospice care but from my experience, hospice makes it comfortable for the patient and comforting for the family. Hospice will regulate medication and care. Medicines will be delivered, equipment delivered, council, and volunteers to clean and massage the patient. These persons are pleased to help.
Praying for grace, mercy, and peace to surround you all. Josh, please know you are a pillar of strength for Sarah. You can't have Sarah's Strength without Josh. I cannot help but think of the families of those who passed in this recent submersible accident. They lost their loved ones instantaneously.
