To clarify. Le fayet is not a ski town! The lift that I am taking at the start is just for access to St Gervais. There is no skiing in Le Fayet (normally!). You very rarely have lying snow at 500m elevation in this part of the Alps! This was truly exceptional, no hype!
Man this rain sucks. I'm in St Gervais for the season. Arrived 28th to snow everywhere at all altitudes, could ski thru the trees at the bottom of Les Houches down to the village. The rain melted everything.
Awesome! Had some fantastic times in St Gervais/Megeve on powder days when, inevitably, Chamonix areas were shut due to avalanche risk, when I did my seasons there (97-98, 98-99, 06-07). I don't think I ever managed to ski back to the St Gervais lift base, though there is/was a piste, always had to take the lift down from Le Bettex. Back of Les Houches and Les Contamines are good too. Thanks for the videos, I'm enjoying watching the start to this season after the snow-no-show last year, looking forward to the end of Jan when I'll be there!
@@Ginjaian 3 seasons and you never took the home run? That's very unlucky! I think every season I have tsnen it at least once, even if there is some waling involved. It is very rarely open outside of February half term, but it us often ski able. It doesn't take much snow depth to be possible as it's all on grass!
I’ve skied at St Gervais for years (also working 2 seasons). It’s bit lower than many other resorts and maybe that’s why it’s ignored by many who travel to the higher resorts hoping for some “snow sure” conditions. But in all the years that I’ve been going there there has only been 1 or 2 seasons that I would have called poor. As you’ll know the Evasion area is big with lots of varied piste skiing for all abilities.

@@vdioivmvxdstni we are back to reality of the 21st century... Christmas was all a dream
@chamonixskibum Yea. Snowing at 900m right now, but it's wet and not accumulating.
@vdioivmvxdstni sleating in le fayet, but it will turn back to rain again unfortunately
totally awesome. You gotta take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime situations, and you did! Great!
Awesome! We were there over new year. This is the snowiest I have ever seen Cham / surrounding areas 🎉
It's certainly the best festive period I have ever had here
WOW go man go... POWDER ❄️👍 Chamonix ⛷️🏂 Happy New Year 🎉
Woohooo! We drive down on the 25th! Thanks for the awesome update!
Looks like it’s stacking up to be a great year for Chamonix.

Loving the 360 camera 👏
Fantastic! I'll be there first week of Feb.
Nice!

@@normanmcclure1007 it's my go to place most of the time on a powder day if the snow line is low enough. Much more interesting than chamonix
Looks awesome! Well done Bro!!
Thank you!
Epic conditions! Enjoy!
Thanks!
Siiiiiiiick!!!
I’ve just booked for Feb…
Same..
Amazing skiing! You seem to have mastered the Insta 360x4 as well as powder skiing! What settings did you use? Did you use Me Mode as well?
@@charleslsegal I wouldn't say that, it's still basically in default factory settings! No I haven't tried me mode yet
like japan !! 🤯🤯 but it's St Gervais
Well there is a little japan sector in St Gervais!
I was going to ask how you skied to the lift. Le Fayet, no longer just a smog filled factory town making control rods for nuclear power plants!

what skis are you on?

Is it this snowy every season ?
never!
I keep seeing you in nutslapper pow throwing tidal waves. You sure you've not become NisekoSkiBum?

What was the total distance of that run? 8kms?!
@@alejandroecheverria4191 I honestly have no idea! But it was certainly looong!
Looks so much fun! Quick estimate via openskimaps comes at around 7kms + , epic run!
