Fun video - I really enjoy Thor he is one of our most played heroes because his weakness feels like a true limitation but yet you have enough tools with card draw and economy to overcome it. When you do overcome in true solo it feels great. In multiplayer for us he lives in aggro unfortunately other minion slayers have really surpassed him. With that said he’s still more fun because we yell have at the all the time - it turns a bad thing (drawing a minion) into a fun thing.
You missed his new SOLO protection deck with come" get me bub". Together with ever vigilant this greatly helps Thor where he would have problems in green otherwise. Healing, card draw, not having to exhaust or block with minions against the villain, threat removal, more readies. And with TBE ever vigilant only costs 1 since it has the aerial trait. If you like Thor, this is worth a try⚡⚡⚡
Thor is a hero who you deckbuild for, so he's more difficult to make work than the average hero. Now with Nightcrawler and Magneto on the horizon we'll have events in 3 different aspects that put minions on the field, which makes Thor really happy.
Controversial commentary on Reddit when I talked about cards like ones that have to find a minion. I don’t feel any guilt about checking (pre determine that I would shuffle no matter what!) to see if there are minions left in the deck. Obviously you can look in the discard pile and it gives you the same information. I think I have seen you check and shuffle a deck or two in your streams before in similar situations.
Thor is my favorite character, not just in Marvel Champions, but in Marvel period. If I have the chance to play as him, I will always take it. I love his pride, his arrogance, his strength, his cunning, I love stories about him both being unfit for the throne and also shouldering its responsibility, I love anything having to do with Asgard. So no matter what, I would have Thor in my rotation. I will admit, he has some pretty glaring weaknesses that are hard to ignore, and I'd be lying if I said they didn't bother me when I played while seeing modern heroes get to do whatever they want. It's a classic problem that Thor was designed very early on because he's so iconic and had to be out of the gates early, but then over the course of five years the devs have learned a lot more about how to design cards, how these heroes work, and how we tend to play, so modern heroes have all this understanding and knowledge behind them while Thor's stuck in the past forever. Any mistake they made with Thor just exists forever now because it's not like they can go back and upgrade his deck, unfortunately. And that shift in ruling about the cost arrow _really_ specifically hurts Thor in a way that feels almost malicious. And it sucks, sometimes it makes playing him feel like an uphill battle. But I will, because everything about him just excites me and makes me happy, and I want him to do well. I'll just have to look up how everyone else plays him, what people are working on with him, and trying out new combinations of Aspects and cards to introduce to his deck to make him play the best that he can, even if Thor's absolute peak is a 7 while most other heroes operate at a 7 baseline and can be pushed to a 9.
I found myself struggling with him with a enemy that kept stunning me. Which is probably why they made Limitless Stamina for this reason. But yeah, overall fun stuff.
Since nightcrawler, I've been having a lot of fun with Thor in aerial protection. Give him a height advantage and take a bunch of taunt hits just for fun. Add in Come Get Me Bub for toughs and card draw, and I spend 80 percent of the game in hero.
I feel like you should have mentioned the additional synergies he gained from the Valkyrie pack. All of the Asgard cards can only be used by Thor and Valkyrie (and rogue). Bifrost in particular creates almost an entire new way to play him (although it is again forcing him into aggression).
Love this series. Just did a red skull expert campaign with Thor protection and Valkyrie aggression it was absolute blast getting 5-6 minions and deleting them each round with Thor and Valk
Thor is always a good time and really want to play him again. Like most of my decks, I played on theme and stuck with Asgard allies and it was good run.
I like Thor as a Character. I have not played him yet. I am wondering since the game keeps evoleing and it will make old heros harder to play. Will they make cards to deal with the new cards sets or would that throw off the system.
If you like Thor so much, why is his video the shortest? I think it is important to highlight that God of Thunder is a HERO resource. Odinson cannot use it.
I just got his pack, but I don't have him on the list to play for a long while. Interested to hear what others have to say is Thor's best aspect. Leadership?
Do you mostly play solo? Probably no then. A lot of multiplayer or you really enjoy Aggression as an aspect (even solo) then yeah, but wait till a sale, if you can.

This. I went to the comment section solely to mention this deck :D

Really enjoy this video series! Only like 50 to go, right?

Avengers : Infinity War is the only argument I need to know I want to play as Thor

Seems I like flawed heroes… Hulk, Thor… I think I haven’t played Valkyrie yet, maybe I’ll like her too
I think he's most fun when you embrace the Aggression aspect as I do every time I play him. 😁
"Expensive, can't really do a lot of things..." Yup, noticed that on my last play with him, lol

Getting more efficient with videos 🤷
@@D20Woodworking efficiency is good!

If you have "come get me Bub" from the Nightcrawler pack and "ever vigilant" from Star-Lord or Angel, then protection becomes are very fun option.
as a player with a little experience and not a lot of cards, should I buy thor?

Thor smash?
