Thank you so much for putting this on RUclips. It’s a good time to be a guitarist, if you have the internet, you know? So lucky to have people like you put these amazing performers on here.
Wow! I never knew Mozart could work so well on the guitar (in the hands of an outstanding performer like Barrueco of course). What a stunning arr. and interpretation. :)
So many piano sonatas by Mozart and so few transcribed for guitar or two guitars. Fortunately the teacher of Su Meng has done his part of the work. What about the other guitarists?
He's the best among his contemporaries. If you don't think so, you need more time. Wait, there is Li Jie. But Li Jie retired from performing years ago after she made a series of instructional videos, at age 14.
Funny that nobody from the guitar community came back to this piece. I would say it is technically spotless but musicwise it simply exposes the guitar player lack with the great composers. Honestly, you cannot expect to develop your skills with Sor and Giuliani and
... be well prepared for Mozart. The only way is to listen to the best players. Have you ever heard Horowitz play an "easy" Mozart Sonata? There is such playfullness freedom in tempo without ever losing it. And in the end a huge smile on his face. That is spirit of Mozart. So maybe it is really too difficult to achieve all this on the guitar.
I'm a guitarist and I just found this. This is one of my absolute favorite mozart sonatas esp. Mvmt 1& 2. It's great hearing this on guitar. I would have thought it impossible, but in response to your claim of no good guitar composers. Have you heard of Barrios? Dionisio Aguado? I like a lot of theirs as much as any composers and much of it is tough to perform. Barrios was an incredible genius for sure.
@@stringchild Barrios is great! But Mozart is 18th century and Barrios 20th century. (Although his style is 19th) Barrueco us a player that is about technical perfection. For me, there are a lot if players that I enjoy more. But everyone can enjoy different things.
Very, very sorry Manuel Barrueco, but Mozart was never a Flamenco player. Unless the extreme virtuosity ... again ... sorry, but this is not ok and I don't like it at all.
There's nothing remotely flamenco about this performance. It's okay to play Mozart without a piano just like it's okay to play Bach without a harpsichord. Relax.
Barrueco is not a flamenco guitarrist nor does he have a remote idea on how to play flamenco. He's a classical guitarist. For flamenco check out Paco de Lucía, Tomatito or Moraito.
This is brilliant. In keeping with Mozart in style and touch.
This guitarrist is one of the few that makes perfect trills

Great playing in keeping with the traditional Mozart Sonata
Incredible. You'd think it was made for classical guitar. Wow.
Es el guitarrista que más me ha impresionado escuchar en vivo. Tocaba con una facilidad asombrosa las obras más complejas.
Extraordinary guitarist

Siamo nella stratosfera.

Ground-breaking.
+Mark Herz what exactly is ground breaking in this performance ?
@@ViolentFury1 Everything
Wondrous ! xxxxxxx
mmmh, there is some parts of the last movement that sounds like two guitars, i hope i'm wrong
The beginning sounds just like the 2nd mvt sonata #20 of Beethoven
Wonderful video my friend
Wow what recording is this one album?
It's from his CD 'Mozart & Sor' (1988, EMI)
Where can i get the music sheet for this?
La parte presto lo toca sólo o con otro guitarrista?
Usted habla en broma, no es asi?
Solo es él
;Bach is father and we are all his children and whoever thinks otherwise is vile ; W.A.MOZZART

@Ken Brown No. 'Retired from PERFORMING'. Li Jie is a professor at the central conservatory of music in Beijing.
His student Meng Su is equally good. She performs and teaches with masterclass.
Alas, the stultifying and toxic tendency to compare guitarists. As if we could do without Velazquez to appreciate Picasso.
Wow your hand stays on the string but where does sound comes out? He is God of guitar He can make sound himself aura.
speed 1.25 and get mozart style
The guitar is such a difficult instrument that it's almost impossible to play this piece in such tempo.
i think it sounds fine at this tempo
Meraviglioso!!!

@@veetguitar Why does it matter to you from which era they come from?? The point was that Barrios is also a genius composer, like Tarrega
