There's a lady in the village where I live who keeps her outside Christmas lights up until Easter; She even has them flashing all night annoying some of the residents.

I’ve just cleaned a hoarder’s house, took three weeks solid and within that time they were wrecking other rooms I’d just done whilst I was doing another, soul destroying!!

As a horse owner it’s important the food is kept clean and dry I agree. Rodents are a HUGE problem if you store it just anywhere outside and most horse bins are not actually rodent proof. I actually have a feed shed with heavy duty feed storage that I store mine in that I’ve spent a long time rodent proofing. Yes, determined rodents can eat through those standard bins. So completely disagree with this woman and I wouldn’t say it’s a health risk it’s just horse feed.
She takes her baubles down up to 10 times over the Xmas period, bleaches them and puts them back! Wow. Just wow!
Is she able to spend ANY time with her kids?? I feel so sad for her and her family

She’s a nut! Why does she even bother to put it up on the 1st of dec, she might as well put it up the arvo before then take it down Boxing Day morning.
Exactly that's just crazy and pointless , and bleaching the baubles and re bleaching then again is ridiculous and it would damage the decorations.

I dont enjoy the cleaners competing with eachother to be the cleanest. Like ... its a weird - "my ocd is worse than yours" kind of moment.
It's so they pick up new tips for even more OCD in their lives😉. Their therapists love this segment.
I do wonder how the OCD cleaners are dealing with this pandemic, must be quite stressful for them
I think Dusty has done a great job keeping his house clean and I agree that the Horse feed can be kept clean and dry in the kitchen. Its tidy and out the way and people keep dog and cat food in the kitchen, so in my opinion its the same as that.
Hoarders rarely change; They try but many of them feel the need to start the hoarding process again.
I do believe some hoarders have a genuine problem but plenty are just blooming lazy..
I would help someone the once but I definitely wouldn't do it all again if they won't help themselves.. it's so easy to put things away put its easier to just drop crap where they are sitting then except ppl to feel sorry for them
OMG he loves and cares about his horses if their food are nicely packed away under the bench does it even matter? I don't see the difference between horse food being there or cat food 🤦🏻♀️🤣
I have OCD although I'm not as obsessive with cleaning as some people (a lot of my compulsions are very different to what you expect) but I do freak out about animal dirts (and I have pets) but I don't get the issue with food at all. Horse feed is going to be natural and contain the same healthy foods we as humans are recommended. It's not like he's keeping the manure in the house. I don't get her problem.

The ocd's homes may be extremely clean but they have a lot of visual clutter with all their colorful decorations, orange walls, etc. It would look less stressful with more neutrals imo
Yeah I have seen that too... Many of the occ have an ugly taste in decoration, in my opinion.
I'm surprised by how many people on this show have rooms decorated with one very bright accent colour.

I've always wanted to know. There was one I really wanted to know about.
There's no way I ever get to steam and bleach my Christmas ornaments. They're all vintage, 60-70 y.o. , hand painted. I inherited them from my grandparents and I've really fond memories of my childhood Christmas preparations. As for throwing away season cards, I think you'll never keep memories, you'll never get to read a loving note from a dear friend that passed away for example 😕

Yeah I don’t know what the problem with keeping the horse feed in the kitchen. It’s food. As long as it’s stored well and not attracting mice what’s the problem.
I agree. There's nothing wrong. It's like keeping cat food and dog food in the kitchen so why that woman is being so fussy, I can't understand.

I move my tree ornaments around every day, and they're usually perfect on the day the tree comes down. Ornament placement disorder.

Who puts their Christmas tree up & takes it down ON the day the Christmas tree has been up for the last 25 days?? Says she hates the tree being up though will have the tree up for 24 days prior then on the 25th day, in which the tree is all about, she takes it down!?? It makes no sense, I cant even process her logic 😂😂 its Unbelievably selfish of her, worrying more about her OCD over how others feel about having the tree up for christmas, I'd be so upset with her, she is one of the most selfish people I have ever seen....& iv worked in alot of places where it's been customer based....SHE is the most selfish!! 🙄 I feel bad for her kids/family.
Nice to revisit people and see how they have done, the OCD cleaners and the clients needing help.
The OCD people use sooooo many chemicals, yet they worry about their kids and a bit of dirt!! The one who takes away the tree on Xmas day is heading to giving her kids crap Xmas memories!

As for taking the tree down on Christmas day, why bother putting one up at all? That's just selfish, in respect of her children, ending any sense of the magic of Christmas.
Mark is so picky about his curtain rings! BUT have you ever noticed the huge crack & broken plaster, right behind the right side curtains?!?! That would drive me insane!

And some of them recognise that , especially after they've cleaned. I think all of the cleaners have OCD and need to be diagnosed and treated. It must be awful to live with both for the sufferer and their family.

Sorry I used to to take the tree down on boxing day to get ready for a big new year party. Let face it boxing day was a right downer when I was a kid. The only day that mattered to me was Christmas eve. There was no day like it.

38:45 WOW this lady is MEAN! There is absolutely nothing wrong with keeping pet food in the kitchen!! She is a real B who thinks she's better than everyone else smh. She has to realize that she has a sickness and that not everyone keeps their floor clean enough to eat off. Her whole segment made me ill. Screaming at him and throwing a fit!
I thought I was mad how I do my Xmas tree. I start my husband helping me once the tree is up we go round the tree with the lights, then the Tinsel goes on every 2 sets of branches down. The ornaments go on 2 branches apart & colour coding them in order & not 2 cluttered with so much stuff on the tree. It takes me & hubby about 1-2 hours 2 do the tree. He knows my OCD is bad & he loves Xmas so that’s why he excepts it he’s starting 2 get a bit of OCD him self lol

Great video. Interesting to see how people are now following their time on the show. Disappointing to see some people resorting back to their old ways in spite of the hard work that was undertaken to restore people's homes to a degree of order and good hygiene. You can make excuses but when you've lived in chaos and a mess it should make you more proactive when aiming to keep your home in a tidy state. Tired of excuses with having had a difficult year. Not every day of the year would have been difficult. Speaks volumes: laziness. It's reminiscent to that a smoker - if you don't really want to quit smoking then you'll never give-up.
Some of them are in denial that there's a problem. The old stresses come back, so the soothing behaviour comes back. Without ongoing therapy, like any addiction, the whole thing can become overwhelming again. I wish the OCD sufferers were followed up as well to see if they're receiving help, but most of them just seem to think their behaviour is how everyone should be. I feel sad for their families.

I couldn't cope in the house with the tree being pulled down at 2pm on Christmas day that's crazy to me 😱. Although I'm a crazy Christmas lady who goes big at Christmas with 12 Christmas trees in my home plus loads of other Christmas decor and I'm definitely not a minimalist but my home is very clean and tidy but it is also just very festive. I think these trees they put up look very sad and I would hate my tree smelling of bleach yuk🤢. I do feel for them though as it is ocd condition they have. I can be a bit strick about how my trees are dressed they have to be done right and decorations placed nicely so do get that side of things but I don't measure distance between baubles if I did I would never get all my trees decorated lol 😂.

I usually enjoy these episodes, but this one made me kind of irritated. You can see that most of the people who needed help cleaning their houses did their best to keep them clean by sort of normal standards, or at least you can see that they are trying. The OCD people didn't change a bit! Except for Alison...
The other woman and HER tree, HER standard, SHE feels happy, and she has two children who she still once a week bath is chemicals! And SHE doesn't see the problem! Seriously irritated!

@@samanthaabreu782 That is true, and very selfless of them. But I just wish that the change is visible on both sides. Most of the hoarders accept that they have a problem, but most of OCDs don't. Nobody is truly happy here, neither hoarders nor OCD people.
@@katarinas3361 Maybe because being clean is seen as a quality, so people think that cleaning all day long is not a problem, it's harder to accept.
OCD is an incredibly difficult condition to manage or treat, the hoarders on this show are mostly non-clinical I.e it isn't as a result of their own OCD, so their progress is commendable but not the same struggle really. I had perinatal OCD and had treatment for a long time, thankfully I'm doing well now but compulsions are so overwhelming

It's not enough to clean a place up if the person whose house it is does not develop a habit to regularly clean it won't help long term. I hear it takes about 21 days to develop a habit, it is not always easy to do. It is not about laziness there can be some issues with trauma that can make developing habits very difficult for some.
Bleaching your baubles? Buying a new artificial tree every year? That’s extreme. And throwing your Christmas cards away? She’ll be lucky if she gets any in future. And why does Mark put his lights on the tree after the baubles? They should always go on first.
I don’t understand why these hoarders can’t put their excess in storage rather than allowing their homes to become overwhelmed.
That is Christmas time? They are wearing T-shirts and it looks like summer outside! Are they in Australia?
