I completely agree. It’s great to see a creator successfully using the French pack on a European “grid,” especially when so many others doubted it could work.
A few suggestions for the old town: 1. this is one of the most populated parts of the city, it's a prime location for the tram. (I know you said you don't want it but I think this is the best option you have, put it on the pedestrian streets) 2. The Caribbean (where the series is set) is known for its colorful paint on his houses, I don't see a reason why it will be a boring white in place of rainbow of colors (with the aid of the recolor mod) 3.Why not build a marina on the coast? 4. Build a star fort behind the cathedral, in infrastructurist New Haven county he uses alleys and decals to built a star fort. maybe do the same? 5. For such a prominent part of the city I wouldn't be surprised if the parliament (or whatever other large government building that governs the country/territory/whatever of Sunny Isle) will be found inside the old town. 6. Maybe pick a saint to name the church, bonus points if you name the whole old town/city/country after him. (which is quite common across the Caribbean, see: San Juan, Saint Lucia, Santo Domingo, Saint John, etc.) Great video as always, keep up the good work my man
Bingo! I spend a day in Montmartre earlier this year and fell in love with the neighbourhood, especially the terraced/stair streets and winding roads. Mont Saint-Michel is marvel too, gives me Hogwarts vibes
This was an amazing build man. Loved every second of it :) mm trams down on the edge would be cool, but not taking it up the hill. I feel that’s typical in old towns, that you can take a tram or bus close to it then have to walk.
I had a look today and I think trams are the way to go but it will be a tight fit! If only we had those vintage style San Francisco/Lison style trams to scale the hill - that would be gorgeous!!
Every single time I watch one of your videos I am both amazed at how well it comes together, and at how much I learn about detailing in C:S2. Easily one of the best channels making videos of this game!
What a stunning area. if I had to pick a place to live in the city, I would want to live here! I hope the area will receive a shoreside tram and a bus route spiralling up the hill.
Tram is the way to go. The elevation looks too rough for an underground metro and also I'm not sure the practicality of an underground metro next to the ocean. Otherwise a simple bus network alternatively. Looks absolutely great though man. The stairs are absolutely awesome. You really ought to try the custom road builder mod for this. Making narrower roads and such is a game changer especially for a build like this.
Bro, your builds are absolutely amazing. It's a shame you don't have more views. I hope you will continue to develop and publish videos, because you build amazing. :) (sry for my weak english)
This look absolutely too good! I love the city you've made, and it really really looks good. And if the name "mont clémentine" caame by itself, I would reccomend you to name it "île de la cité", litterally island of the city/fortress
I have a list of names for places, Clementine is on it, and looking into the history of the word, it is has French origins so it became the name! I originally was going to call the whole series "Île du Soleil" but I struggled to say it with my mumbling British accent - love the suggestion!
Probably not that realistic, but I would've loved to see a small train station serving this area.I can imagine tourists really making use of this as they would drop into the city at the main station, and then just hop on a local train that drops them right in the old town. Great build by the way!
First off all. F***ing Amazing what you build there. Its just stunning to watch. I think CS2 hits complete differently with these new Region Packs. IMO CS2 got ten times better.
i was waiting for japan and china pack to start a new save but your hilly build idea hyped me up to give a shot for french and german pack. im not that excited for eu packs because im living in those buildings and dont wanna see more lol. i mean those are beautiful buildings ofc but i just want to build different regions. but i realy like watching your videos and now i wanna build an eu city while waiting. thanks to you 😅
I really suspect the population decrease is homeless leaving the city. Patch 7 fixed a bug where once cims became homeless they would never find new housing or leave the city.
At the start of the video, you made me laugh by adjusting taxes lower for the highly educated (rich?) folk. Are you running as a Conservative mayor? LOL. All the best from a Hully Scully. :)
How about running the tram along the waterfront as an old rail line that used to serve 'oldtown'? Sick build, your work on hills is crazy good!
I fell in love with the sunny isle atmosphere
The narrow street, the cathedral and the french asset make the city magical and unique. I'm amazed. Great job!
This turned out really nicely. Possibly the best build with the French pack I've seen yet. I like how you managed the grade changes.
Thanks, Poplar! I wouldn't look too close, those back garden get a little wavey - but overall, pretty pleased with the result!
@SunnyScunny most of this game is "don't look too close" 😅
I completely agree. It’s great to see a creator successfully using the French pack on a European “grid,” especially when so many others doubted it could work.
that is the most beautiful build I have ever seen. As an european, I find it really realistic as well !
This old town is really beautiful! I could live here forever!

Sadly the French assets don’t work with recolor yet
Regarding 2. Adding murals manually to the flat sides of buildings is also a great way to get more colours
Gotta work some trams into the peninsular for sure, thanks!
What a beauty man.. wow.
Love what you did! It’s very unique but interestingly reminds me of the Mont Saint-Michel mixed with Saint-Malo, Biarritz and Montmartre.

@@SunnyScunnymm that would be awesome! Let’s hope it will come from the modded community one day :))

What a fantastic build! Got vibes from a few cities around the world but there's a huge tinge of the Sacre Coeur about it for me. C'est magnifique!
We’ll have to revisit the area once funicular lifts are a part of the game, save you from walking the steps 🚡
Subscribed! I LOVE how you created old town with these assets. I hope you will do more like this!

What a beautiful build. I can surely understand why you are proud. Congrats 🙂
Absolutely stunning episode.
Love it! Elevation is not easy and you dealt with it like a boss.
congrats men!, beautiful cities 2
this looks fantastic, just love it!
This is most beautiful build I have seen! Wow
Such an underrated CS RUclipsr
Great build! It's so beautiful 😍 but I felt like it would be nice to have a aisle seating or a cafe with Alfresco's facing the the bay..
Wow, incredible!
What a build, man. Those stairs looks niiiiiiice🎉
absolutely gorgeous work as always
YES NEW SUNNY
Thats beautiful.
What a unique and amazing build 👏
Super cool build but to me the Notre Dame doesnt quite fit the scale. Much love, always makes me glad to see youve uploaded!
Beautiful build!
This is so so so so so so so so cool

Amazing!

I love this idea! I was torn between rail and tram, I think with the tram being close by, it will be the best solution for now
I absolutely love how you used the area. It’s absolutely fantastic. I am curious, how did you build the planters and the ground for the square?
Most beautiful city in city skylines 2
Honestly I thought the back of the buildings looked really cozy and cute
First off all. F***ing Amazing what you build there. Its just stunning to watch. I think CS2 hits complete differently with these new Region Packs. IMO CS2 got ten times better.
so good
Stunning build!! Would love to see a custom pedestrian-tram road along the waterfront.
This looks a lot like Constanta Romania!
hello! can you please tell me why I don't have a "Landmarks" tab in the game? The cathedral should be located in this tab...
Some landmarks came with the pre-order bonus
i was waiting for japan and china pack to start a new save but your hilly build idea hyped me up to give a shot for french and german pack. im not that excited for eu packs because im living in those buildings and dont wanna see more lol. i mean those are beautiful buildings ofc but i just want to build different regions. but i realy like watching your videos and now i wanna build an eu city while waiting. thanks to you 😅
Japan pack looks good from what I’ve seen!
Adding the public transport in there would be better.👍
Plopped buildings level up too
Yes! It's much more dynamic than I originally thought, great mod
Hey love your channel and your middlesfjord save game on steam, shame my cities skylines has stopped working 😢
I'm sorry to hear that! I've just updated the save game on PDX Mods. Hopefully, you'll be able to check it out once you've fixed your problem!
What map are you using and this area is giving me san Francisco vibes for soem reason and i love that
Thanks! Samui Island, more info in the video description

What is the name of the mod for having transparent grid cells?
Zone Color Changer, set your own colour and opacity mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/81568/Windows
its such a shame that these french and german buildings are so bright in comparison to the vanilla ones.
The education based tax needs to be replaced with zone based tax it just dont make any sense
At the start of the video, you made me laugh by adjusting taxes lower for the highly educated (rich?) folk. Are you running as a Conservative mayor? LOL. All the best from a Hully Scully. :)
Looks great. A bit too white, all the buildings
:o
Please upload this save file to paradox mods!
