This is the kind of videos that I want to see informational. Thank you.
Always wondered what is the name of this plant. It grows in my yard borders. Beautiful flowers, i also have yarrow plants that have a beautiful purplish pink flowers. The smell is pleasantly strong. Ive heard that sassafras works well for mosquitoes. I was in a boggy section of the woods and the mosquitoes were intense. Ground up some leaves and rubbed it on my neck and arms, legs and wow ! No more mosquitoes on me .! Totally works. 👍.
I knew that because of rdr2
Crazy that videogame knowledge is sometimes appliable in real life
Instructions unclear, I now have rashes all over my arms
Yarrow is smaller than nettle
Mine just fell off. Is there a herb I can eat to grow them back?
I have loads of that growing around my house! I'll remember this the next time I go out on a long walk.
That thumbnail made me think he was about to promote another 'plant' 😂
I mean… they don’t like smoke either…
Red dead redemption 2 taught me all I need to know about yarrow
Smoke repels mosquitos, too. It's been a really bad year. I've had to blaze one every time I go outside.
👍😜!
Top idea. Doin now 🤔 no mozzies here yet but best prepared thx
What a shame 😔
😂
Now I can just imagine you taking out a lighter and trying to light a mosquito on fire.
Yarrow is also a good anesthetic for your mouth.
Chew on it's purple-white roots if you don't believe me.
Dog fennel also works the same way! You just gotta be careful that you dont have dogs that'll lick your skin anytime soon after applying, and make sure you yourself aren't allergic. It works fairly well, some mosquitos wont care, but i hate the smell of deet, so a win is a win.
I cannot smell deet!! Isn't that weird?!
@RealBradMiller lucky you lol. I can smell everything a little too well for my own liking 🤢😭
Ah yes, one of the most common herbs on Red Dead Redemption 2 (I never leave the house).
Me: Finds Yarrow, rubs it all over.
Friend: That's poison ivy.
You do what to me?
😂
These nature trick channels really need to clarify their region in the description. I'm just constantly drowned in useless survival tips for very specific places that I'll never be in.
I think yarrow is pretty widespread; at least here in the Midwest I see it all the time
@@austinhageman6148thays not wide spead..... it in the Midwest.
Not me waiting for him to say "and if you eat enough of it, it will induce vomiting"
My great grandma says god gave us all the herbs we ever needed for medicine. What a woman.
Fun fact mosquitos don't find you by scent, they track the trails of carbon dioxide you leave when you breath!
This explains why in all the vast atmosphere bugs always tend to fly up your nose.
Aragorn: Sam do you know Athelas?
Sam: Aye, King’s Foil, it’s a weed!
Just need some broc flower and an empty syringe and you’ve got yourself a stimpak
Explain please
And xander root
@@jameskelly9243 it’s from a computer game called Fallout, you can make a stimpak which is basically injectable medicine which heals wounds in your body from the ingredients the guy said
@jameskelly9243 it is a reference to videogame series
I used it in Survival Training working in AFSOC Hurlburt Field. You can eat it raw for headaches, plug wounds, and they grow fast. I loved it so much that I grow it in my home
Thank you 🎉
"I can show you a cheap and easy to find big repellent..."
Proceeds to walk inside
I have yellow and pink/purple yarrow in my flower bed. Will they work the same way?
Probably
A forager once told me that the antidote for whatever is bugging us bug wise is usually growing nearby, where the bugs are. My favorite is Bee balm I’ve noticed that most mints work.
Well, if you plant a mint, you'll never have to forage for it again. Ever. Even if you're trying to kill it, up it comes somewhere close.
Instructions unclear, picked up a poison plant💀
instructions were pretty clear bud, this is just natural selection
Just like red dead redemption, I’m curious what the range is in the states?
It's here in Montana
Search ' Yarrow range map' in google. Should give you a good idea of where it grows.
If it aids in clotting then this makes perfect sense, if the bugs do bite you they'll take in the plant oils which will counteract their anti coagulant saliva like substance and make it hard for them to drink blood without expending a lot of saliva and losing energy.
Hi sir, kindly type the name of the plant. Thanks 👍🏼
Yarrow
Not to be mistaken with hemlock 😅
@@starlady333 lmao
yarrow
"achillea millefolium "
Nice
this is such a surprise to me! I love yarrow I think it’s beautiful (I have it in my garden) I never knew it could be used like this!
As a huge mosquito magnet who's somewhat allergic to mosquitos, I suck at identifying plants. 💀
Yarrow is one of my favorite herbs to use in witchcraft just cause of how useful it is! I like the call it the clear quartz of herbs :)
this is great! i get horrible reactions to mosquito bites and end up looking for plantain to help the itching go away and it works so well and is even easy to find in the city. i’ll keep an eye out for this to prevent the bites!
Jojo characters when a villain does something evil
Bro probably just saved millions of lives
I see this stuff all the time in my area, but I never knew it was this beneficial
Thanks for going strong with the educational and funny content!
I also want to say that the white stuff on the bark on popler trees can help aswell for stopping mosquitos!
As a warrior cats fan... IT WORKS IN REAL LIFE?!?!
Fun Fact: Mosquitos detect you by the Carbon Dioxide around you, so if you don’t want mosquitos, stop breathing 😊
I'm in California, we use sage. Works surprisingly well
make sure not to get it confused with queen anne’s lace, which looks similar! yarrow has those leaves, and the flowers are larger. hope this helps!
This man is a real youtuber ❤
Never thought my childhood warrior cats phase would translate to real life
I remember yarrow was the first plant my mom taught us identify, and told us to pack the leaves on any scrapes or cuts.
Actually, salmon berry leaves was the first. Great natural toilet paper. :P
In Serbia we call it "ZOVA". My grandmother and mother use to make organic juice from it. The best home juice ever!
Where does this plant grow??
And thank you for sharing all your wonderful videos! 😊
You can also make it into tea witch is really good if you have a cold or the flu
Looks like someone played red dead redemption 2
in my area beautyberry plants grow naturally, and their leaves work as a great bug repellant aswell
Instructions unclear, i now have poison ivy
Poison ivy looks completely different, you’d have to be severely visually impaired to mistake it for yarrow. There is a small chance of mixing it up with poison hemlock or hogweed, but they both have a very different smell, they smell weirdly musty, while yarrow smells like a mint/sage combo with a medicinal undertone
the most useful tip i ever heard
Bro took Warrior Cats to a whole nother level
