As of March 25th 2024, all Orion VII OGs under the MTA have officially been retired as 3762 was the last ever Orion VII OG HEV to ever run and made its last trips on the Q37 & Q60. 3708 and 3751 retired the day before on March 24th. Now that all the Orion VII OGs are now retired, you’ll no longer see them operate in the streets of New York City which is pretty crazy to think about since this bus was a literal icon to NYC. This also makes me very emotional since I’ve grew up around these buses since they were around mostly throughout my childhood. I’ve rode the OGs out of depots such as Baisley Park, JFK/Far Rockaway, Queens Village and even LaGuardia Depot! I’m surprised that the OGs did in fact make it to 2024 as a lot of us thought that they would’ve been retired sometime during the year of 2023.
Farewell to the Orion VII OG HEVs 🕊️🫡
