Well young man Mr LL Cool j I bet you one day in Hollywood you was making a movie and you asked me what was my story I was the lady who told you I was going to make you a sweet potato pie I meant that from the bottom of my heart but my story was I had a brother he ran with barefoot monkey man so many of them it was thousands of them they were crips my brother my brother was Anthony Griffin put on the streets with big bunchy when you asked me what my story was I wanted to tell you my story but I went home to get the picture of my brother because some young men that came to my house and they tried to get me to do an interview with him but I wanted just to show you my picture and just tell you my story at the time when I saw you I never thought I would ever see somebody like you you know I'm a little kitty short lady and you were so tall and you were nice enough to acknowledge me so I want to just to tell you something young man during the time that my brother and all the kids got started it was after the 6 years after the 60 was one of the biggest riots here in South Central my mother brought us here from a place called herlon California when we first came here to Los Angeles we stayed honest three cards 68th Street we move that night on that street the next morning the riots broke out across Los Angeles I mean Los Angeles is burning up throughout the whole riot my mom got up and went to work every day she was a nurse she worked at a convalescent home taking care of elderly people and it was hard because my mom had five kids young man she was a black woman with five kids my mom would tell us to stay at home but we would follow her to make sure she got at least halfway to work and then we will turn around and go home we love our mama the first time I ever saw my mother cry is when my brother was in the pain and they called my mother so she can identify my brother's body I never ever seen my mother cry before I never thought I would ever be in the world without my brother young men taking each other's lives and I'm telling you together we stand divided we are falling and it's sad to see because I used to work for La unified School district and I enjoyed working around these different men living on different sides of LA and they were nice young men but I don't understand why they don't get along I no longer too many blacks in our neighborhoods the black to taking each other out and I'm telling y'all together we stand we are falling we got to stop taking each other out please mothers are not supposed to bury their kids we are supposed to bury our parents you asked me what my story was that was my story and I want to thank you for taking that picture with me that day God bless you young man I know barefoot pookie is no longer here with us but there's so many others that do my brother what's a big giant and I miss my brother so much I am now 68 years old remember if anybody hear what I'm saying together we stand divided we are falling a teacher over at Fremont high taught me that and he wasn't even a black man he was a Spanish man but he was a damn good teacher😊🕯️👀🌈🧑🏿🦳🙏🏿🫶🏿✌🏿
