"Nostalgia Critic’s, The Wall."
- proclaimed everybody.
I don't even consider that a legitimate album. It's the last dying breath of a controversial RUclips personality trying desperately to stay relevant.
Haha, bingo.
So obviously gonna be number 1
You were proven correct. Everything about that piece of shit was awful. Crash (and many other reviews of this terrible album) was cathartic. I literally stood up and clapped when Crash revealed Nostalgia Critic’s The Wall as #1 worst.
@@alexhollon7526 what happened with amo? I mean is not really great but is not Attilla/Emmure/King 810/Doug Walker tier of bad
That rant about Doug Walker... I think that hits on the real reason why I lapsed on the NC after all these years. People love to complain about how he goes after plotholes in the stuff he reviews, but I've always felt that was never the problem. The real problem was that Doug came to believe his own hype. He believed that he was the best in the business, that his opinion mattered more than anyone else's, including his audience's opinion. He grew to believe he was better than us. It's the same problem CinemaSins has too: they're so hate-fuckingly arrogant that it makes it impossible to enjoy their work anymore (and I was never all that down on CinemaSins in the first place).
They really are just Pitchfork Media in a smaller package.
At least he's better than MauLer. Say what you will about NC or Cinema Sins, at least they were entertaining at one point, and at least they don't send their legion of sycophants - I'm sorry, fans - to harass anyone who disagrees with them.
You mean he became like a REAL critic? Yeah, big shocker.
F**k the Nostalgia Critic.
@@elebrony well put
doug has been going downhill since demo reel failed and he was forced to bring nc back. people were leaving way before change the channel happened. but the wall was the final nail in the coffin as no one cares about dug now.
Now I fully understand why you had to kill The Rock Critic. It sounds too eerily similar to a Critic that no one wants to associate with anymore. Thus, you had to kill the last remaining reminder of that critic and become reborn and forge a new identity; one...that you can fully call your own:
*Crash Thompson* 👏
Who is the critic that no one wants to associate with anymore? I am out of the loop :p
@@jackk9366 Are you that dumb, lazy and ignorant?

It really is a shame that Rob Scallon was involved with Nostalgia Critic’s atrocity.
Eh i'm not too bothered by it.
It's honestly more of a shame that Corey Taylor (and his son) was involved, considering he himself released the best album this year (in my opinion) with Slipknot.
TheDuffyLONER64 I like Slipknot and Corey and all, but I’m just a casual fan (I don’t mean to put them down or anything, I’ve just spent more time watching Rob than I have listening to Corey). Rob, on the other hand, is someone I really look up to. I *love* his content. He’s an amazing musician and seems like a super nice dude. He’s *so* passionate about music, and he (usually) uses his talents in all the right ways. But the fact that he contributed to this hurts me…I understand people make mistakes, but it just 😩 I really hate it for him. I’m sorry if this came out weird lol
@@DuffyLONER64 I don't know what's more embarrassing: Corey Taylor appearing in that video, or him showing up on a Falling In Reverse song.
@@FabulousKilljoy My exact feelings, but flipped. I listened to some of Rob's stuff and I think it's really cool, but I'm not a huge fan or anything. Corey however is someone I really look up to and admire, and it is a massive shame that he contributed to that awful review and album, however minor his contribution actually was. At least he totally made up for it in my mind by releasing the best Slipknot album (Yes, I said it. Don't @ me) in their entire discography this year.
When someone pisses off an English major:
Poor Corey Taylor for being associated with NC's The Wall. At least he still has a career after it
Slipknot sucks. The sooner people realize that, the better.
We Are Not Your Kind proves that he has dignity. I have a feeling it's going to be on the best list. It's that damn good.
Jason Thayer Nah
At least Hydrograd from 2017 & WANYK did good.
@@jasonthayer1309 We Are Not Your Kind would beg to differ.
Scott Stapp? More like Scott STAHP
Fabulous Killjoy Stevie T?😂
JJ O'Connell I don’t remember him ever making that joke, but I watch him haha
Fabulous Killjoy It was in the top ten most hated bands when he was talking about Creed
JJ O'Connell Oh that one was the first of his videos I ever watched. I haven’t seen it in a while…I probably should 😂 That was a great video
Fabulous Killjoy Yeah. The man’s hysterical
I’m really pissed that Rob Scallon was on NC’sTW. Rob is really good, and even he knows how shit this is. He’s never mentioned it on his channel.
I admit, even though I'd say he did a poor job here too, it's also a matter of look at what the guy had to work with. It's just... A tragic record all the way down.
Crash Thompson Any chance of a First of October review, on the topic of Scallon?
@@CrashThompson I, to the fullest extent, appreciate your extreme hatred of NC's the Wall. What you said in this video, I could not have said it better myself.
Doug Walker needs to either confess or go away.
@@jasonthayer1309 Agreed.
Rivers is a walking meme. More Hu-meme than Hu-man.
Bravo, dude. That was good! (Claps)
This was the best roast of Doug Walker I’ve heard so far. It’s what he deserves. Also, shame on Corey Taylor for contributing on that audio bile of a record.
His son is a fan of the NC and wanted to be on a video and Corey was nice enough to make it happen. At least Corey will still have a career after it unlike Doug
Judas Priestess can’t believe that happened
Corey can do whatever he wants, I don't think he deserves to be shamed at all.
I think some CTC members deserve to be roasted too, Allison especially, like goddamn what the hell happened to her? I used to like her, but now she's built a wall and alienated many of her own fans in the process.
@@Zombieberry27 Doug still very much has a career, can't say i'm optimistic about some CTC members still having one though, as it seems like a lot of them like to just randomly bitch about Doug out of nowhere to try and get more views(not saying they don't have legit complaints, just saying it gets tiresome to hear them talk all the time about that and seemingly nothing else).
@@jackstone7378 if someone you thought of as a friend and colleague fucked you over, you'd bitch about it, too. How can you say the dont deserve a career for being rightfully upset someone they trusted screwed them over?
That speech at the end was simply beautiful, Shakespearian even. And as a fellow jaded Nostalgia Critic fan, it was extremely cathartic to hear.
No it was not.just say the album is bad.all that doug walker crap was not necessarily.internet drama is nothing. This is just bullshit ,move on with your lives.
Welcome to the entertainment industry ,no one is always a nice guy.was this album is about Doug's ego .sure but let him do it and be made fun of and move on.
My lord some of you guys are worse then matt jarbo
@@kasrasadrehashemi174 I don't care for internet drama myself, but here's one case where I'll at least defend the idea of Crash's speech.
Doug Walker WAS the internet at one point. People wanted to be like him...JOIN him. He was the yardstick to be measured by, and at one point, That Guy With the Glasses was the site to go to for everything. He had memes, movies, the lot. People, well within reason, idolized him or wanted to learn from what worked for him. He built an empire.
Now? He's a broken up entity that let his weak moments get the better of him and, in the process, he let down a lot of people, both outside of TGWTG and inside of it. He got gigantic off of one single idea, ran with that idea up the hill and made a name for himself, got an inflated ego off of it, and now, to a good few people, that one idea is essentially all he had. All the drama like the Spoony incident, Mike Michaud, Pop Quiz Hotshot's failure, and Change the Channel has crushed him and his brand over the years and this is the result.
Walker isn't just "a man who recorded a bad album". The Wall wasn't just a Playing with Fire or a Having Fun with Elvis on Stage or a Hulk Rules. It was a sign of how far one of the most successful and beloved figures of the internet fell. He seriously needed a wake up call, and if he doesn't listen, his needs to be an example of what happens when internet fame fuels an ego beyond reason because his isn't the only one that went nuts and cost him...not even in his own genre. His was just the loudest "POP!". But his hurt in particular because unlike Kevin Federline, or Suicide Silence, or (going off music) Antonio Brown, Walker was one of us.
I say all of this as someone who was never the biggest fan of his.
@@kasrasadrehashemi174 First of all, did you fail english class? Look up how to write properly, it's not that hard. Second, a big chuck of the 'album' is Doug complaining that people called him out on his bullshit, so of course Crash had to talk about it when reviewing it. Third, Doug isn't just "not a nice guy", he mistreated people working with him, forced them to do scenes they weren't comfortable doing, and covered up the crimes of a sex offender instead of firing him. If we don't call people out for behavior like that, how do you expect things to change?
The guy from Attila may be a sad old man.
But do you know who else is a sad old man?
Doug Walker.
Crash looking like he's trying hard not to sing: "Nobody likes you, everyone left you, they're all out without you having fun" while criticizing Doug Walker.
He should’ve!!!!
Aw man he should have done that
Which song was that? Just curious?

That speech about Doug was simply glorious and, honestly, highly necessary. Like you, I am incredibly thankful for never having associated with him and that it was the right decision to stop watching him years ago.

"Skillet's music is so watered down, Jesus could turn it into wine" might be the most savage thing i've heard...
Even as a huge skillet fan, I chuckled at that line. I definitely think he was way too harsh on this album; Save Me, Victorious, Reach, and Back to Life were all solid tracks, further more I have to mention that Skillet are one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Though I still agree with Crash that Skillet's best albums are behind them, Victorious is still a solid release (7/10 imo), probably my 4th favorite from them so far.
I think that Zabuza and Haku would probably listen to Skillet's music
Crash instantly became The Judge in The Trial
My favorite song from that album.
I think you just inadvertently called Crash a giant asshole.
The evidence before the court is incontrovertible
There's no need for the jury to retire
In all my years of judging
I have never heard before
Of someone so deserving the full penalty of law
The way you made them suffer;
Your exquisite wife and mother
Fills me with the urge to defecate
(GO ON JUDGE, SHIT ON HIM!)
Since, my friend, you have revealed your deepest fear
I sentence you to be exposed before your peers!
TEAR DOWN THE WALL!
Yeah Crash Shit On Him!
Crash, the last ten minutes of this video are the greatest review of an album I've ever seen

I was NOT expecting NC’s The Wall, probably because I didn’t see it as a rock album
I already saw it coming. Anthony Fantano (theneedledrop) already put it on his worst of the year list for his 2019 list. And a few other RUclipsrs put it on their lists as well.
Nostalgia Critic really is a real life version of his show Demo Reels.
In that nobody wants to watch it?
That's why NC did that "review" of The Wall. With his website's collapse, he's built a wall around himself to isolate himself now that he realizes everyone has completely turned on him.
Not everyone, some CTC members still follow him on Facebook.
Even my friend who's an attila fan couldn't defend villain. Now when you have a 15 year old kid who wants to listen too your music that thinks you stink, that's just sad
I like Attila and I don't mind bands like Emmure or King 810, granted I know not to take them seriously.
I'm a fan of Attila but I didn't like Villain at all. I feel like Attila just can't evolve as a band.
You know, another band who seem to have become a victim of the Imagine Dragon: Highly Suspect, a band whose first two albums were intense, biting, and hard-as-heck rock. And then this past year, MCID came out, and they became more of an electro-pop type act where the lead guy tries rapping on several tracks? There are a few solid songs on there, namely Canals and Upperdrugs, but it's nothing like the Highly Suspect I first got into.
I'm going to assume that Puddle of Mudd and AJR are gonna top the list.
Can you see the future?
You weren't wrong
Nostalgia Critic too?
@Mr.Vertigo The Artist It was probably going to be mentioned at some point. I mean, if Luke wasn't gonna bring it up on his list, I'm sure Crash was gonna talk about it at some point, but I had no idea that it would be number 1 on the list.
Rio Kamichika honestly I Very expected it to be #1 and if it wasn’t allowed on the list then definitely on hm
NC's The Wall, both the album and the review itself, were a long time coming. They both stand as the apotheosis Doug's own hubris as it currently stands. The way he talks about The Wall is infuriating, not just that he obviously doesn't get it, but he thinks it's so beneath him that he doesn't have to get it. I don't even like The Wall in the first place, but I at least feel like I understand it. Doug calls The Wall pretentious and up it's own ass, and yet he's the one went out of his way to make an entire album and musical review criticizing it, and terribly at that. And that's not to mention his reviews for Moulin Rouge, Les Miserables, his reenacted reviews, and the entirety of To Boldly Flee. Then there's the Change The Channel controversy, in which Doug was rightfully called out for all of the shitty things he did to his former employees, and yet he has the audacity to make an entire forty minute video lashing out against all of the criticism and bile he justifiably received. Doug needs to get a fucking reality check and learn that he is not above scrutiny, especially when he has negatively affected so many people.
Now I understand why you gave up the Rock Critic. I thought the name had a lot of value, but in context it makes a lot of sense that it doesn't.
Your best videos as the critic were the ones that took the formulas in a positive direction (top 10 BEST nu metal bands, giving Into the Unknown and One Hot Minute fair hearings). "How to get into" is a format that more critics should do - at the end of the day it's about helping people find something special for themselves. Even your takedowns of bad songs and albums were very far from intellectually lazy and dismissive.
Gratitude and compassion are the way forward and you embody that while still being an effective and useful critic. And you keep on growing instead of doubling down on mistakes. We all want to build the wall sometimes - good on you for building something better instead.
Rock isn't dead, but it's less popular - it may be going the way of jazz and its best days are ahead of it (stole that from another video - David Bennett Piano is a good channel if you haven't seen it). If that's the way it goes, you have the right mix of appreciation and understanding to shepherd people into finding truly great experiences through rock music.
Thank you for everything you do.
AJR is rock music for people who have never listened to rock music
And who don't know how experimentation works. Also, they must clearly not listen to lyrics cos wtf their lyrics are beyond cringe
I don’t understand how people think they’re even close to rock
More like the predecessor to the showtune-only radio featured in Demolition Man.
AJR is music for people who have never listened to music
Elvis Isn't Dead I can confirm. When I was twelve-which was before I got into music-I *loved* Imagine Dragons, the Score, and AJR. I thought I was such an intellectual.
As an A Day To Remember fan, I’m honestly scared that they’re gonna make the list next year
😕
@Fabulous Killjoy Yeah I understand why you’re scared as well, not just because this is ADTR’s first record on a major label but because their new sound reminds me way too much of a somewhat “heavy” version of All Time Low, especially with those upbeat sing along choruses that don’t fit their style at all
@@ronstoppable5659 absolutely... while I never was that big into them I can always go back to at least a few songs from each of their albums and really enjoy them but what I've heard from the next one just does not sound good. And looking at what happened to ATL for example after signing to Fueled by Ramen makes me really skeptical about that release.
Yea the new singles aren't very impressive. I loved Bad Vibrations so it's super disappointing
Ngl, I'd also be concerned if a band I really liked was collaborating with Marshmello.
Not gonna lie, when it came to #1 and you decided to go out of character for that bit I had a strong feeling it was gonna be Nostalgia Critic’s The Wall.
Hell, I myself finally decided to leave NC for good in 2019.
I already jumped ship on the Nostalgia Critic when Channel Awesome imploded.
I’m sensing Papa Roach’s, “Who Do You Trust”, will be a contender for this list.
Strangely enough Within Temptation's Resist album got a better review.
Confirmed, at #7
You know what I find funny about Papa Roach's album? Not even two months later, Mark Morton (Lamb of God's guitarist) released an album with a song featuring Jacoby Shaddix that is LOADS better than the Papa Roach album.
As a former fan of Doug Walker and Channel Awesome, your monologue I think hits the nail on the head. Walker wasn't even trying in the video, his performance and critique were almost vehemently bad with the exception of taking pot-shots at the people who felt betrayed or outraged by the things detailed in the Change the Channel doc. I think part of him recognizes that he's become a puppet held up by his brother and Mike Michaud, the CEO of CA, but he literally can't do anything and probably wouldn't if he could because - like you said - everyone outside of his in-group who criticizes him is an enemy. He wanted to make sketch comedy but has resigned to playing this character who I think he hates and I think that's very sad. But after all he did to the people who worked with him and trusted him, he deserves it.
I wasn't surprised that Papa Roach got swallowed by the Imagine Dragon, because all they've really been is a band that chases trends.
Doug's wall album was so bad it made a guy change his name
Wow 😯 that speech at the end.... truly left me speechless, it’s scary what fame and the internet can do to somebody....
As a middle finger to Doug Walker, someone should do a rock opera themed around the former TGWTG/Channel Awesome members rebelling against the Nostalgia Critic, or something like that.
Naveek Darkroom that could actually work if done properly in terms of not taking itself seriously
@@jakearmstrong6993 Though I was thinking it would work better if it was more like 2112 than The Wall.
@Naveek Darkroom Either one works. We’d treat the source material (the original rock operas) better than Doug ever did.
I was playing Jerk off by Tool and that works
ᵗʰᵉNight★Star three people besides the most accused isn’t “all of them”, although if you can back up why the rest of them (not including Linkara) are scummy as well, I’d love to hear it, as I genuinely don’t know. I’d like to hear specifically about Todd, since he’s the only one I still watch.
That speech had as much drive, pathos, and soul behind it as Charlie Chaplin's speech at the end of Great Dictator. That was amazing and so very cathartic.
Doug Walker pissing away almost ten years of good will in a short amount of time is astounding. I would say it will go in the internet history books, but no one wants to give him that much credit or even remember him.
People: Charlie Chaplin gave the greatest speech of all time

Nice pfp. VDGG rocks
If you're referring to 'The Dictator,' you're not wrong. But Howard's rant from 'Network' isn't too far behind.
Crwsh, you are way more humble than Doug could ever be. You don't have half his ego.
Crash is my hero when it comes to internet music critics.
The things you said about Doug's wall that he's been building, I agree. I've been there, and I destroyed that wall before it got to high. He needs to try to make amends for his actions.
Honestly if Weezer wanted to keep fans on their side for the Black Album they should’ve just released High as a Kite as the lead single. It’s the best and least objectionable single of them all.
Oh woah that Weezer dig... that cut deep Crash that cut deep
Cowardice wasn’t the right words for them. This was how Weezer wanted their record to be like. I feel they are at a point where they can now release whatever they like to do and not feel bad about it. The Teal album was just an extra album for fun, so i se no reason to be upset.
There's even evidence of his friends abandoning him. One of James Rolfe's associates said that he was reportedly cutting ties with Doug Walker. Now, this may be fake, but if James, Mike, or Kyle ever confirms it, would we be so surprised? No. Because at least when James Rolfe screwed up, he admitted to it, and when presented with something controversial, he doesn't ever take the low road, he just says that everyone has said everything about stuff like Ghostbusters, the Irate Gamer, and many other things he's involved with, and asks why he needs to say anything about it. Doug Walker doesn't admit that he screwed up, respond nicely to the controversy surrounding himself, and, most of all, he's unprofessional, to the point that it's inevitable that Channel Awesome is gonna die off, and get bought out by another company, possibly Cinemassacre or some other internet company, and they will hopefully restrain the Walkers a little bit, take the Nostalgia Critic IP from Mike Michaud, and even fire Michaud for the crimes he has committed. A downside is by then Mike Mattai and James Rolfe would be put in charge. Not saying they're bad, but they'd have a big mess to deal with if they buy CA, they would have to prove to RUclips that they're nothing like them, and make a public apology for those negatively affected by the old company, like, getting dehydrated while filming, turning a previously respected guy (Justin Carmichael) into a sexual predator, allowing people like the two evil Mikes, Michaud and Ellis, while letting go Bhargav who was at least trying to be professional, and, hating on crowdfunding while doing the exact same thing they're doing, very poorly mind you. And, how will they attract new people to join the MCN after souring relations with the older ones? These are questions I have to ask because, if none of this happens, then, Channel Awesome will be forgotten about completely and the Walker Bros. will never be taken seriously again.
Whoa. Covered a lot ground there.

Pretty sure Hollywood Vampires is entirely for my mother.
Wait...Buckcherry released an album in 2019? Damn, shows how much I care about them.
It's like how I felt about Puddle of Mudd. I forgot they even made a new album.
I think it says a whole lot that NC's The Wall video has some 50k less views than Fantano's video about how bad it is. And it's deserved too.
In Doug’s case, he lived long enough to become the villain.
Anybody else with me that Doug Walker is like the worst traits of Adam Levine and Chris Fronzak mixed together? For reasoning, he's like Adam because he let his ego and fame overtake him, and he's like Fronz because he's unreceptive towards criticism and every single negative thing that's ever been said about him.
Holy shit. You completely tore apart Doug Walker. I don't think I've ever heard you be that angry before.
Good. That "album" deserved everything you said and more. It's one thing to make a bad album. It's an entirely other thing to take a great album and make it vile.
That ending was POWERFUL
Crash Thompson, listened to and watched an awful "album" and review so we didn't have to.
See what I did there?
I loled. 🤣
You know you’re in serious trouble when your record gets a “0” from Crash.
32:00 for the part you're coming back to rewatch.
You know anyone who has ever been in Doug Walker's frame of mind probably felt vexed.
Rivers Cuomo wanted to make a dark album following his own vision, but fails at it?
Rivers Cuomo is me?
Also, the cover of Who Do You Trust is gorgeous. I want to swim in that sea so badly~
Ngl that Weezer statement was a bit harsh but reasonable, although I'm excited for Van Weezer based on the one pretty good single
I tried to listen to Dougs album out of sheer curiosity. About 10 minutes in I thought to myself, wtf am I doing? Then turned it off and forgot about it.
I been giving channel awesome a chance even after the controversy just so I could be reminded of the disneycembers and the commercial episodes, even if some of the more recent videos weren't the best, I still stuck with him. After I saw the wall "review" however I basically said FUCK IT. that was the final straw. Even though I dont think the wall has many flaws, I would've like to seen him give a different viewpoint of the album/movie, but it rarely even tried to do so and just came off more as complaining. I'll give Scallon that he is a good musician, but there's little he can do when he basically given around 26 songs that already exist and have to make sure they don't get copyright claimed for it. And Corey taylor... well at least we have WANYK from him.
You deserve an award for that trashing of NC's disgrace of an "album".
And as for NC himself, after that album, he just needs to fade away and classify himself as OBSOLETE!
probably one of the few times in ANY of the reviews of Doug Walker's shitty Wall cover that people mentioned how the "Run Like Hell/Waiting for the Worms" bit is just him bitching about Change the Channel
Man, is it just me, or does anyone else find it really hard to go back and enjoy NC episodes after these past couple years? Even ones I used to like. I try to separate the art from the artist when I can, but NC's videos and personality just feel so annoying to me now.
I found my self doing a slow clap by the end of this video over that review of the #1. Like...Holy crap, Crash! That was inspirational.
I love the tearing down of Doug's horrid atrocity that was his parody of The Wall. Thank you, Crash. That was cathartic.
25:32 “I want a Percocet! *pout*” best description of Cokie the Clown
This is the single best take down of Doug

Puddle of Mudd, AJR, Weezer, and Papa Roach are likely going to be on here.
Beaglegirl19 He didn’t seem to hate Weezer. I did though-_-
@@JrJrJrJrphD I feel like the Black Album was so disappointing. I wouldn't be surprised if it's at least a dis-honorable mention.
Honestly the teal album was more enjoyable than the black album
I remember the days when i loved every single album from Switchfoot. Now, we're lucky if we get a single song like "Take My Fire" on each album, with most of the album leaving me thoroughly unimpressed. I'm disappointed to know we may never get another NWTBH, LTB, Beautiful Letdown, NIS, Gravity, Hurricane, or Verses again.
WOW!....I can't believe I've only JUST come across your tearing apart of Doug's hateful abomination! I've recently been going through a phase of revisiting all of the hilarious reaction videos to his perversion of The Wall, and it suddenly ocurred to me....I wonder why I haven't seen Crash's response to it! I looked up Fantano's worst of 2019 first (knowing it would be there without a doubt), then your own worst list appeared and I had to see what you had to say, and you know something.....holy crap, a tear was nearly brought to my eye by how clear you made it! Doug's been building his own wall this whole time!
At first, I figured he hated The Wall so much because he maybe once had a girlfriend who loved it (and dumped him), or some other personal situation where someone was giving Pink Floyd more attention than they were giving him. That sort of thing, to me, seemed to be at the heart of it. Something deeply painful. Especially his bitter, fucked up take on Goodbye Blue Sky. Military brat, was he? That seems to speak to a lot. Maybe Daddy told him at a tender age to Quit Whining! - there are bigger problems in the world than YOURS!...This may be a stretch, but why otherwise put such an extreme, unreasonable thrashing on a song that anyone can see (if you watch the video), with no prior knowledge of what the song or the album are about, is about the horrors of war. Oscar bait? I mean, that came out of left field. What, is he pissed off that an Oscar is something he'll never get, himself?
This venom all just smacks of something closer to home - JUST as you said. Well done, man. I wish someone would clip this part out of your video and dedicate it as its own reaction video. It deserves the attention, and I think most would agree with your take on the way Doug's been digging his own grave.
NC’s cover of the wall is just another reason why TGWTG shouldve been shut the fuck down after the Change the Channel scandal

@Алексей Al The Nothing was awesome, what’s it doing on here?
@@ronstoppable5659 Simple, I didn't liked it. Isn't it obvious reason why albums appears on worst of the year lists?
Алексей Al I’d argue that a few of these albums (Korn, 311, TEB) aren’t that bad, but you nailed most of it
@@JrJrJrJrphD I like Third Eye Blind, didn't liked new album though. Like, what the fuck were they thinking when they made 2X Tigers? It's the worst autotune trap rap song I heard all year (and I heard a lot of trap)
Алексей Al Yeah that’s true. Wasn’t a very good album, but it wouldn’t make my worst

Doug Walker: (chuckes) “I’m in danger!”
if you scramble up the letters in imagine dragons you get....
...migraine gonads
fits them perfectly
Hey RUclips, this is how you recommend shit, subscribed after one vid, didn't even know half these albums (Thankfully) and had good stoned laugh. Subscribed and also thank you for ripping Doug a new ass again, it seriously only gets better the more people roast him on considering he still hasn't spoke on it.
Where did you see about remo drive’s process for NED being a nightmare? I’m just curious to see or read that interview to know more about the process
I still come back just to hear that rant about Walker. Glorious.
Anyone else totally not realize Crash is 34 until this video? 😂
In an ideal world, Weezer would be having a razor fight in a pit with the Dave Matthews Band to determine the most boring fucking band on the planet.
Out of all the videos and retrospectives that have come out on Doug Walker in recent times, I have you say. Your speech on him was hands down the best. Doug 's creative down spiral these past few years has been one of the most stunning cautionary tales of the decade about fame and ego and that is saying a lot. While I do believe he startled off a good and humble guy who just wanted to have fun riffing on movies, over the years he really has brought into his own hype and vision to the point where it has become unhealthy and self-destructive.
So many people have suffered as a result of his choices, but the one person he is hurting the most is himself. He has to live with every terrible thing he's done or is complicate with for the rest of his life. He has to live knowing that he cannot do anything else with his online platform except Nostalgic Critic which has shown no sign of evolution since 2013. He has to keep going on pretending that none of this is happening and enjoy his tiny corner of the internet, oblivious of the damage he's left in his path.
And how is he going to do that, by building a wall so tall and thick that even Roger Waters would be impressed. Maybe one day he will wake up and realize all the harm's he caused, but I'll doubt it. But if it does happen, well I hope he'll be ready for the biggest reckoning of his life.
Lemme guess...
Number one is Ned Chricton's The Line, isn't it?
EDIT: Called It! Complete with an epic speech and decision to retire the "Rock Critic" branding because Doug is such a maniac!
Damn dude... I think you're right about how The Wall relates to Doug Walker... did he manage to make The Wall more beautiful by becoming an example of it?
What are the songs being played live during the Papa Roach and Skillet bits? :)
Cokie the Clown is a great album; raw, tragic, gut wrenching and painfully honest. I don't think it's meant to be funny at all. Mike's cleaning out his closet and being more real than most will ever dare to be. It's definitely not an easy listen but it's one of my favourite of the year so I had to defend it.
There’s a festival later this month with Angels & Airwaves that I want to go, but AJR is headlining. Should I take the plunge?
depends on the cost tbh
Olivia it’s free
Fataday Korngor Who says no to a free concert? You can always leave when AJR is getting ready to go on.
If they're headlining, that gives you a bigger window to book it out of there.
That ending was... um... wow. I can't think of anything to say about it. I think you put into the best words why I stopped watching the "old guard" of youtube. They just became old people, hating to hate, wondering why the world turned without them. I feel the same thing happened to AVGN, though those guys had nowhere near the infamous fall of Doug Walker. Good on you, Crash. Good on you for running in the opposite direction.
Hands down, one of the biggest disappointments of the year was Highly Suspect's new album MCID, I know based off the title, this was a dedication to their fans, but this was just a giant sellout with vacant electronic elements and guest rapping and it tanked in the process so they don't even have that. What makes it even worse was that The Boy Who Died Wolf was one of my favorite albums of 2016, I just listened to it again last night and it's just as good as I remember it, and MCID doesn't have a drop of the quality TBWDW had. Oooofff, just, just ooofff
Themes for worst albums each year:
2014: Sociopathic idiot albums
2017: What are you doing to your sound?!(And Imagine Dragons becoming a genre)
2018: Albums that stood out for all the wrong reasons, and even the best of bands phoning it in.
2019: Who are these albums for?
Elevators, Food & Fun By ElevatorGuy15 I kinda wonder what the themes for 2013, 2015, and 2016 should be.
@@kylehegedus5498 2013 was apparently the theme of "you can do better" albums. As for 2015 & 2016, idk
Elevators, Food & Fun By ElevatorGuy15 Oh yeah, I remember that.
2015 had Mumford & Sons, the Pope, 5FDP, All That Remains and Danzig, and before talking about the last one Crash made a speech about squandering potential. So I guess that's the main theme. It doesn't even have to fit all of them, since in 2014 only Attila, Emmure and King 810 fit the "sociopathic idiot" theme. FF5 were just lame christian geeks, Pink Floyd were boring and dull and that one Nickelback album's main distinguishing factor was the autotune.
In 2016, I guess the main theme could be something like "it COULD have worked, but...". That Megadeth and RHCP albums certainly fit, Asking Alexandria had a new vocalist that worked better than the previous, the Led Zeppelin covers are all covers of amazing classics, Drowning Pool are described as a band with potential from the Sinner days, and From Ashes To New could have had a bit of value even for the sake of humor. Even La Petite Mort by King 810 was shown how it could have worked, or at least improved, via the Cane Hill comparison.
Lady R Of Rage I still hate RHCP’s The Getaway. It’s trash. I do hear John is coming back though.
Is the Nostalgia Critic going to build his wall on the US-Mexican border?
Holy fuck, Okilly Dokilly has to be one most painfully gimmicky bands ever. That first album just sucked every single drop of life from me, and that second album wasn't much better.
Does anyone know what somber piano music that plays during Crash's rant about Nostalgia Critic?
Fun fact. It's a piano version of Lexicon Devil I played myself
@@CrashThompson What a note to end a worst of the year list on.
I didn’t listen to Nostalgia Critic’s The Wall because I only consume the old NC videos and don’t want that record to ruin it for me, but oh sweet Lord almighty, I didn’t know it was THAT. I thought that album was just Doug saying The Wall was dumb (which was weird because I thought in his Hercules Disneycember he said he at least admired the art style), I didn’t know it was his middle finger to the audience and an angry response to the scandal his production company got into. I remember when he reviewed The Cell, and said the film felt like it was just a pulpit for the director to get up in a zany costume and say “ask me what it means! I’m complex! I’m tortured !” It seems like now with Doug trying to outdo himself every time with more effects and skits, he now has his head stuck straight up is butt, basically becoming the pretentious attention seeking cretin he spoke out against. I still watch his sibling rivalries and appearances with the Cinema Snob, because he seems like a nice guy when not doing NC, but this whole Wall thing is just embarrassing. The NC changed RUclips and internet reviews forever, but now, I think it’s time to call it quits.
PS. The Wall is also my favorite album of all time so that’s another reason to not listen to it for me.
It really must be a slow year for bad albums when Okilly Dokilly makes the same list as Doug Walker. I've never listened to a full OKDK album beyond a couple songs, since they're a one-trick pony joke band with no lyrical variation than straight-up quoting Ned Flanders, but to share a space with something as mean spirited and hateful as Doug says a lot about how good this year was for music!
Have you heard of Raised by Owls? They are a grindcore band with songs based around British humour. Quite recommend them.
It’s that time of year yess! Let’s flush this shit down the drain.
2020 will be worse
Alli kittycats What makes you say that?
Because I've lost hope in popular music
Alli kittycats Hopefully MCR will kick actual rock back (not the lifeless pop that passes for rock and alternative nowadays) into the mainstream if they release good music next year…who knows? We had nu and alternative metal trending a few times throughout the year (TOOL, KoRn, Slipknot, FFDP), so that’s cool. I also really like Billie Eilish and twenty øne piløts, who are *huge* right now. But I think the future of rock in the mainstream for the next decade is kind of up to My Chem at this point. I hope they deliver. (Thanks for the sub, btw!)
@@Dumb_Killjoy We are here to know what was the best and the worst of the year not what is more or less popular. The line that differences those things blur so often is hard to know if that is a good or a bad thing but usually popular means mediocre at best.
