Well done. Couldn't make a better video myself. To the point, explaining why and how things work in regards to combat. Will you do a battle buddy video? I always found it hard to teach people this, how to be effective battle buddies and synergize together. I know it's more than just shooting in the same direction.
(medic in the video) The funny thing is Cyrious and I are not a usual pair. The best thing you can do is be consistent with your pairing. That way you will learn how each other move instinctively. Callouts are the main thing to learn besides movement. FIreteam chat is your best friend. The heavy sets the pace/calls for moves and the medic watches the flanks/makes reactive calls. TBH firing in the same direction isn't all that important. It's more about covering each other's backs/reloads than anything.
Ah, for them it is just time in game. Players need to learn how planetside works as a solo player before they try to do a heavy-medic pair. There are so many quirks to movement, and awareness for PS2 is so different from everything else that it often puts people into sensory overload. Adding the extra thought process of heavy-medic is to much IMHO. From the medic perspective just have them be a combat medic that rezzes. Cyrious's combat medic guide will be a good resource for them until they can learn to think where the enemy will go next and how to counter that. Then move onto heavy-medic stuff. Otherwise it will just be frustrating for both of you.
@@ivanmalik8096 That's the best part about training new players. Watching them advance with their teammates. Thing is, an experienced player knows how to rely on his battle buddy. A complete stranger for example, you've never played with before. You two click, and bam! You both wipe a squad by yourselves. Having this mentality and behavioural "battle instinct" is what we need to teach. Yeah, I know it comes with experience with time. However, giving tips on visualizing what your partner sees though he/she is looking the other way is a great hint at developing this synergy. Putting yourself into your partner's boots. Understanding how long a reload takes, how many rounds they fired and anticipating if they need to reload. If they have to charge or heal up, you know to cover the corner and step back with them. Little hints and tips. Cyrious can use the term "Battle Instinct". -xKarion :)
i used an ASP point for Heavy Weapons secondary, it allows me to use the Thumper or the MCG in pistol slot. My favorite one is MCG primary/Thumper secondary with the EMP ammo equipped, that ammo isnt as powerful as a full EMP grenade but it will clear out mines and damages both shield and health
I usually run with the Betelgeuse or the Maw for main gun and I mix between the Hades and Nemesis launchers, I very much like the Nanomesh Specialist and Mobility Mesh implants, I might have to try your loadout eventually but I dont often find myself in those kind of fights you showed *cries in console low pop* Anyway great video as always.
My goodness started this game and saw a bunch of "black holes" in the sky and got killed every 3 seconds. I used to be so hopeless. After watching Cyrious's videos, I got so much better. I'm at br 11 right now and I can kill br 100 without too much of a problem. Thank you Cyrious for all the help! EDIT: BTW would you recommend T9 Carv over the nsx naginata?
The Naginata is really stable, I still prefer the CARV though. They are both good weapons though, so don't feel like you are handicapping yourself with one.
Hey Cyrious, long time conning this video was. Glad to see your still making great content and awesome to see you improve over the years. Also lots of fun running with you in Merc, I was OrangeVoid and I always am glad when I see you online. I did a review of your video just pointing out what i thought was good or bad and giving my opinions. it'll be on my channel if ur interested, i know some people would like a review or like a VOD review of their gameplay. I wish i had someone review some of my gameplay but i don't really have any good current gameplay as i don't save any stuff lately. but there u go, LMK what u think if u watch it. thanks ahead of time.
had to blur out my dumb shirt. x3x my apoligiez, the black screen was there for 20 or so seconds at the beginning. end of the video the text "black" was a typo of "blank" my placeholder text fill, sorry about that.
Anyone half-decent can clutch massive killstreak in minimal amount of time as any class. Find a three way biolab, sneak your way to the line of the other two factions with an infil SMG or suppressed CQC bolter, and you’ll be 30 kills ahead of the second guy on the leaderboard before you know it. Or of course, the good old Vanquisher/Lacerta/SABR rooftop medic farm with ammo belt. But I can’t recall the amount of time I cleared the MAXes at the doorway with medic C4 and there’s only 3 half-hp enemies in the room, and my 4 perfectly kitted-out heavies just pussed out when there are 10 seconds left on point to save the base, thus leaving me to rush in head first with a mid-range AR (which often ended badly). The problem is nowhere near mere personal skill. Many HA tends to forget that if other people of other classes have to do their job for them, their so-called “skills” are worthless. Also, I love this video for the fact that it brings out the really tasty but criminally underused ultra high capacity, fast reload and rad hipfire LMGs. EM1/Bull/Polaris are mad fun when the torrent of clueless dudes start flooding in the doorway you’re holding, and they are essentially NS-15M in CQC if you AD spam and have trigger discipline with the hipfiring.
Okay but, let's just say I've been the pointman on a LOT of breaches as LA. I actually think that's one of the things LA is undervalued for. LA's can break stalemates and breach rooms when enemy maxes are making progress impossible (using ambushers, concs, and c4). It's one of my favorite things. :D
I just noticed that in most of this type of film, there is virtually no visible recoil to the automatic weapons. The shooter is rock steady, which makes endless headshots a reality. Try as I might, my guns still pull up and to the side and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do more than I am doing.
I feel like they're the noob class. I only spawn as one when I want to be lazy and just stomp on people without really trying much. I usually feel guilty for doing it lol
Thank you Commander been waiting for this. I am a newbie dying a lot I mean a lot. This can help me I think so. U know it's hard to find those squads with that lineup. But got play
Absolutely no disrespect to cyrious, but I see that opening clip and I have to marvel at the sheer stupidity of his opponents next to the players I have to contend with. He should have been noticed and engaged 20 rounds in to that burst spree.
Thank you for finally making the guide!!!! Very informative as usual keep up the awesome guides!!!! It seems i have been spending certs on the wrong overshield type lol =)
Before watching this, I didn't fully realize the potential of the heavy. This video, combined with your shooting tips video, has made me way better. Thank you!
Honor Guard if it makes you feel better, I used regen and fortify for the longest time, and I just learned how to actually activate fortify a week ago 😭😭
I think a medkit trumps aux shield any day since you can zigzag and use it. Regen might be useful if there are no medics around and you want to run C4 but the downtime is pretty high on it. Safe fall I feel is more useful for a light assault since you aren't going to be jumping off roofs and stuff, and if you need to u can always overshield. Then again if these are the only implants you have then there is no harm in equipping them. Just consider that imho there are far more useful implants.
I used to run regen when I didn't have assimilate and survivalist yet. It's fine but I wouldn't run it with adrenaline shield since to get the most use out of it you have to do the exact opposite of what is optimal for the adrenaline shield. If your health gets chunked, you have to find a hidey hole and wait for it to kick in and slowly get your health back up. You're going to have way less down time using the "meta" loadout.
I normally run regen and ammo print with most of my loadouts. While that loadout needs a lot of downtime to be worth it, I love the way, this enables me to be flexible and self sufficent on the battlefield. Perfect for sunderrer hunting, Tank flanking and ghost caps
This is not how I play heavy. I live in an area that has poor internet. Playing like this just- doesn't work from here, as I'm usually dead before I can get 2 shots off. So when I play with the heavy, I mostly use rocket launchers and hope for a 1:1 K/D ratio.
If fortify wasn't so trash to use, that plus bionic and resist shield with aux should and asc would give HA the highest effective health and highest headshot ttk in the game, behind the max of course. Something like 1,685 Hp with headshot resistance (normal reachable max hp is around 1,500). It's a dumb defense build, but fortify blows since you have to hold E over a capture point for more than five sec. Try it if you've got implants maxed out and got nothing better to do, it's mildly effective.
Hi Cyrious, really great guide for newbies like me. What do you think of the Assimilate + Athlete combo? I see it a lot on forums. Is it on par with Assimilate + Survivalist?
I am solo/ duo player .... I started as infiltrator and my friend is full time medic.... So it didnt work well.. I have full infiltrator and because my fried I did combat medic... Now I have enought currency to start next class.... My question is - Heavy Assault or Engineer ??? What would you guys choose ?
I love/hate Heavy Assault... I love the shenanigains I've done with it....Leeroy Jenkins-ing up to a max and shotgunning their crotch...or jumping over the NC Max to Striker them in the butt...because I forgot to switch out to the Decimator....again. I hate it when I just turn it on and stupify. Standing in a corner, wm+1ing harder than a newbie Pyro in TF2...and drooling down my chin because I forgot how to swallow--which is why if I ever go VS, I will never get the Lasher v: ...then I realize I've been a Mana-Turret main all year..granted my highest killstreak with that was 24--the irony is I was the only turret and in the middle of the room...but elevated..in other words, my head wasn't where it should be for a basic mana turret..heads are all along the same vertical line, regardless of range, on a flat field, and that is where people are going to aim for...in other words--like what you said at the end--positioning was the winner.
Since launch, I dislike Heavy Assaults. It often seems to me like Ez mode compared to most other ways of playing and the toolkit is just silly. Other classes are really damn nuanced, while heavy assaults are (yes, obviously on purpose) fairly crude and just have very direct tools to deal with fucking anything. My Main Class CQC Infil does not allow me to deal effectively with tons of stuff, and in any engagement my room for error is already small; Heavy Assaults come along and simply take away any room for mistakes, by simple class design. Later I Jump into my kitted out tank - whoops, there's a group of 4 Heavy Assaults in the field hunting Tanks. Fuck that then; lets pull a Max and help the infan.... oh.... right. Sorry, but if you rack up stats like in your challenge with a heavy - its quite a bit less impressive. Also: I am aware that heavies also require skill, and I am aware that Cy could do this challenge with other classes as well, but it would be a bit more difficult.
Yes but infiltrator has acess to sniper rifles and can cloak. In my opinion heavy assault is perfect as it is. It is the backbone of your infantry push. Of course it has the best 1v1 capabilities but that doesn't make heavy op. Heavy is the most straight forward class yes and thats why he is and should be best at that. But on the other side, thats why heavy feels generic. He just lacks support tools.
Whats your sensitivity at? I turned mine up in game but I found in some 1v1 situations I lost control trying to aim at people when they drastically move around. Or especially when me and an enemy run past eachother and not even realize it until last minute and I accidentally do a 360 turn lol. I ramped up my sensitivity because the default seemed alittle too slow.
Anchor seems pretty steady, so you are right laser is probably better. I main TR and everything has to much horizontal recoil, so the grips are good. Anchor feels pretty straight up and down so laser is probably better. No I run attachments on pistols, not super high priority on my unlock list though.
@@CMDRCyrious ah that makes sense. I main NC so I don't have to deal with horizontal recoil in too many guns. It would make sense to automatically default to that if I did.
@@CMDRCyrious Unless they changed the recoil pattern of anchor, it is a very straight line, but to the right(? or the left, the opposite of NS weapons). So no need for horizontal reductionm as long as you know the pattern. Triple dink to the head with that gun is super easy when used to it.
@@The-om4so The Orion is like the go-to anyone can use this gun the moment they pick it up and start shooting. The Gauss Saw has some serious kick that takes some getting used to, but once it's mastered, it becomes an absolute killing machine that never stops. It's like a fully automatic scout rifle that has less recoil and far more ammo. It only takes 3 headshots to kill most targets so even the low fire-rate is manageable in close quarters situations. You don't have to worry about the long reload time because by the time you need to reload, all targets will be dead. I think my personal record is 12 people with a single box magazine. It's one of the few non sniper/marksman weapons that I will not hesitate to take potshots at targets further than 100m, because it will actually shock you how often it will return an easy kill. I would rather use the Gauss Saw than a scout rifle for medium/long range.
You have to unlock them. It's 750 Certs for a "Deluxe Implant Pack" and that is how you unlock them. You can also get some from directives and winning alerts.

@@Onus6688 Vanu obelisk heavy is funny to wreck snipers with tbh. entering into the sniper war as someone whose main reaction to getting winged is not to duck and cloak is somehow more than 90% of snipers can deal with, and they'll stand still in shock long enough for you to triple- or quadruple-tap them down, as they mash their cloak button.
Thanks for your work Commander. I've forgotten how much fun and excitement I can have playing a game. That's what a lot of people that dont realize about this game. Its that every game has its highs and lows but THIS game (if you go into it without an ego, and just give it a solid chance) has the highest highs of any game i've played.

Well done. Couldn't make a better video myself. To the point, explaining why and how things work in regards to combat.
Will you do a battle buddy video?
I always found it hard to teach people this, how to be effective battle buddies and synergize together. I know it's more than just shooting in the same direction.
Will try to get to that
(medic in the video) The funny thing is Cyrious and I are not a usual pair.
@@ivanmalik8096 teaching it to other players who are used to playing call of duty or counter strike for years is the hard part.
First from renzor and now from cyrious?? I'm pumped for the upcoming videos about aiming, movement and things of that sort!
I do need to mess around with those implants in my loadouts a bit.
@@CMDRCyrious I hardly notice the movement penalty from the overshield with Mobility Mesh on, it's great.
Ok ty. Tried out naginata and I love it.
Damn cyrious you've given me the most DUN, DUN DUN DUN DUN out of any other video. I love it so much please never stop.
I just noticed that in most of this type of film, there is virtually no visible recoil to the automatic weapons. The shooter is rock steady, which makes endless headshots a reality. Try as I might, my guns still pull up and to the side and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do more than I am doing.
This video def. made me wanna return to the game :)
I feel like they're the noob class. I only spawn as one when I want to be lazy and just stomp on people without really trying much. I usually feel guilty for doing it lol
Clarity but that's the point of the class to stomp on any other class in the game even maxes if you catch them off guard
That’s the point ya... everyone had a role and a heavy is to do exactly what their name says.. have a heavy impact on the battlefield haha.
Thank you Commander been waiting for this. I am a newbie dying a lot I mean a lot. This can help me I think so. U know it's hard to find those squads with that lineup. But got play

Do you have any guide about the differences between knives? I can't find much info about them. Thanks for the video.

How did you did this white highlight for players?
That is an implant.
I like being a heavy and a medic ever since I swapped to a Tr main
Yes! The legends were true! I thought this day would never come!!
Haha finally! :)
Is this reaal liiiiife?
awesome, man!! thanks!
Absolutely no disrespect to cyrious, but I see that opening clip and I have to marvel at the sheer stupidity of his opponents next to the players I have to contend with. He should have been noticed and engaged 20 rounds in to that burst spree.
I thought i will no longer be alive the day u will release this vid lmao
What is that weapon with the round scope that you are using? The one with the red accents, the one that you're using at 10:28
Thank you for finally making the guide!!!! Very informative as usual keep up the awesome guides!!!! It seems i have been spending certs on the wrong overshield type lol =)
Before watching this, I didn't fully realize the potential of the heavy. This video, combined with your shooting tips video, has made me way better. Thank you!
Is it bad that I do regen, safefall, aux shield just So I have better long term sustained?
Honor Guard if it makes you feel better, I used regen and fortify for the longest time, and I just learned how to actually activate fortify a week ago 😭😭
Issue with regen is, you need alot of downtime for it to be even worthwhile.
Perfect for sunderrer hunting,
Tank flanking and ghost caps
Hey Commander Cyrious, what do you think/ what is your opinion on the NC max (like performance and how it compares to the other factions max unit.
I think the recent nerf hit it very hard, but the insta gib of the old shotguns was no fun either. Not sure what the fix is.
It's beautiful man
This is not how I play heavy.
Hey man. Survivalist was nerfed since making this video. Assimilate & Athlete is now the META load out that I use as well.
@@CMDRCyrious Awesome. Thanks!
Nice video dude!! How can I disable the firing light effect. I can't see anything when firing
What Cyrious doesn't tell you is that you will need like 200k certs to get all the rank 5 implants.
Implants grind is outrageous for sure.
0:00 - 0:19 HOW THE FLYING FUCK ARE YOU NOT A STEAMING CORPSE YET HOLY SHIT
Punishing reload? Butcher? Bro, check the reload times, unless they have changed, its always been the same reload as standing Carv.
The god himself is back. Thank you Commander!
FINALLLLLYYYYYY!!!
Fucking Cyrious, a year later. LITRALLY.
I've been trying to catch you boys *ALL DAY*.
My god, it's full of stars..
Good job, Patty! Show ' em how it's done.

Holy shit it finally happened!!
Standing in a corner, wm+1ing harder than a newbie Pyro in TF2...and drooling down my chin because I forgot how to swallow--which is why if I ever go VS, I will never get the Lasher v:
...then I realize I've been a Mana-Turret main all year..granted my highest killstreak with that was 24--the irony is I was the only turret and in the middle of the room...but elevated..in other words, my head wasn't where it should be for a basic mana turret..heads are all along the same vertical line, regardless of range, on a flat field, and that is where people are going to aim for...in other words--like what you said at the end--positioning was the winner.
Letus the Dragon mmmpppphhhhhmmmm(that Heavy assault is a spy!)
Thank you
Solid video dude. I prefer the suppressor on the lmg tho.
I wish console gameplay could be like pc,having squads to rely on,to speak with, unlike ps4 where people are dead quiet.
What implant were you using at the beginning of the video? With that night vision?
Whats your sensitivity at? I turned mine up in game but I found in some 1v1 situations I lost control trying to aim at people when they drastically move around. Or especially when me and an enemy run past eachother and not even realize it until last minute and I accidentally do a 360 turn lol. I ramped up my sensitivity because the default seemed alittle too slow.
I run .09 on most sliders.
I play on ps4 and I’m loving these guides,
Easiest class to learn , thats why i only use ha to clean the sky, then swap to my light assault to farm people.
Why the grip instead of the laser on the anchor? And do you really run sidearms without any attachments?
WOOT!
Posting and pinning this one on my Discord 👍
7:55 when you say take your gear off do you mean like cosmetic stuff?
So what's the changes to this setup since Nanoweave has very limited use now?
Heavy Assualt aka Clean Up Crew
In my opinion the Guass Saw is the best weapon in the game.
Orion*
Cyrious makes it look so easy, where as I run into people with god teir aimbot levels of headshot damage even though they are running past me...
Do you automatically get those implants or do you have to unlock them? If it's the latter, how do you unlock them?
You have to unlock them. It's 750 Certs for a "Deluxe Implant Pack" and that is how you unlock them. You can also get some from directives and winning alerts.
my rule is , if you ain't getting shot a lot you're playing the class wrong
Holy crap, it finally happened.......... o ya by the way, heavy assault guide when?
