Wow! You got to see roots within a week? It must be the amazing amount of light they get from your set up. I have great success rooting Hoyas, but they take a lot, lot longer when they depend on sunlight from a window.
With the black pot inside the white one, do you fill white pot to bottom of black pot, and not let water reach into the leca? So the only source of water are the 2-3 ropes reaching up into black pot with leca? How long should the rope be? Can I use a shoe lace string?
