I loved the "walk a couple of blocks; get into a cab; get out of the cab; walk a couple of blocks; get into another cab; get out of that cab; walk a couple of blocks" part
I understand, but eh this isn’t that funny or entertaining to (maybe just) me. Maybe ratings weren’t high enough? I just can’t balance the narrative with the drunk part, it gives me a headache. But I can very well see this having passionate fans.
@@bephrem Eh, ya its probably just you. More then likely its less based on rating (because history is a niche topic anyway be it with celebrities or not) and more just CC just wanted more money they they knew they could get with a different show. Im willing to bet even if this show pulled over 2 million views and ep (which just based on youtube alone isn't too improbable of an estimate) it STILL would have been "unsatisfactory". I hope RUclipsrs pick up on this concept of Drunk history re-tellings because its actually pretty brilliant!
As a mental health professional, there’s no way in hell I’d go undercover in psych hospital, especially back in the day. I don’t trust the system enough to believe they’d ever let me back out. Edit: Not saying all mental health facilities are bad. The majority of them help people. That being said, we still have a long way to go and need wayyy more funding for mental health.
once read about how foolish pretending and claiming insanity to avoid prison. I think one dude is still in the facility like 20 or 40 years to this day to avoid 10 prison years. can't get out
I actually found that it was harder to be put on a ward, and to stay there, because there were far too few beds and way too many people who needed one. So even if releasing someone might not have been the safest or best option, it was weighed against someone else's needs. Basically, the squeaky wheel got the grease, so even if you needed the care, it didn't matter if someone else was deemed to need more help than you or be 'worse off' than you. Of course, this was not a long-term facility, just a short-term ward where the stay was supposed to be between one and three months. It wasn't uncommon to see people rotated out after less than a week, even if they still needed that acute care.
It touched my heart that he was so moved by the first narrator’s story. I love to see that from informative pieces like this, even though they’re also comedic. It’s a shame they got canceled, because it’s so important to keep history alive so we don’t have to keep repeating it.
dude comedy central dropped a fucking ton of good shit, it wasnt just dave and drunk history, theyve been fucking themselves over since the beginning of this pc culture.
Sweet to see Fred Willard as Deep Throat. RIP dear Fred. I love that he gets major. Brain glitch who plays Nellie? Brain lapse. A great actress. Not sure what I meant about major. Drunk and learning.
And so CC decided to cancel it. As many others have said, I have learned more history via this channel than from all the honors, AP, graduate level blah blah classes I ever attended. It's Sesame Street for grownups & I am so MAD at CC!
There are still many who are. I would blame the problems we have more on the companies who run the media and news stations than the actual reporters. I think the public is partly to blame too. On one hand, people need to take responsibility and do their own research on important topics instead of just repeating propaganda because it backs up their own beliefs. On the other hand, people also have got to stop creating echo chambers for themselves and claiming legitimate news is fake just because it doesn’t support their position on issues. It seems like many people would rather hear what they want than hear the truth and that is going to be one of the US’s biggest downfalls in my opinion.
Pamela Mays I saw a behind the scenes thing where they said EVERYONE who’s done the show has puked at some point during filming. In fact, they keep a doc and paramedics on hand at all tapings and have had to retape several episodes bc the narrators were so inebriated they couldn’t finish lol. I think the vid is on RUclips as something like “what you didn’t know about drunk history” or something along those lines.
Their earlier skits, back when they were on Funny or Die, had few storytellers vomit on screen. Look up the Drunk History Tesla episode with John C Reilly
"All I know is I'm eating cookies and none of our are. Do you want some cookies?" "No, we like watching you." 🤣🤣🤣I died Edit: Again at so many other times. This one is So great
You are more correct than you think: that is literally the reason Fox News was created. Richard Nixon's strategist and "Executive Producer for television" was Roger Ailes, who went on to found Fox News, believing that a dedicated pro-GOP propaganda network could've saved Nixon from having to resign.
1:58 Yes. Carl Bernstein's hair did look like that in real life. No one knew who Deep Throat was until a few years ago. Mark Felt confessed on his deathbed that he was Deep Throat. 17:44, 19:11 Report that freak to CPS.

"You dont have the balls to get in a bath tub in a bathing suit with me do you"
About 2 minutes later(irl time not video time) they are in a bath tub
this is the 2nd time ive seen the host in a bathtub with the narrator

I was in a mental institution for like 3 days before.....it was sketch. Could’ve been worse but it def sucked.

Progress is going from a constitutional ban on alcohol to two drunk men talking about a feminist in a tiny tub on tv. They must bring this show back.
My favorite is the story of Harriet Tubman!
I can’t prove it’s causal, but there is a direct correlation between this show being cancelled and the repeal of Roe vs Wade.

Dropping this show is one of the WORST decisions Comedy Central ever made next to losing Dave.
I couldn’t agree more. Has more heart and charm than any show I’ve seen in awhile

It was too informative. The truth is too precious! The powerful would therefore have it shrouded with lies and ignorance
the dude in beginning absolutely blowing chunks on on the wall is incredibly real. the hard swallows beforehand.. we've all been there
