I am busy caring for my very old and frail mother. It can be very stressful and quite exhausting. Having a simple pattern cuts the hassle and lets me enjoy sewing with bright cheerful fabrics. It’s so easy to give up on a hobby when your a carer or when you’re in poor health yourself. Thanks for the inspiration.

My experience with two of your patterns today -- I've made more than I remember of Dash and Broad Strokes. At least 17 quilts for a wedding, new baby, high school graduation, going-away, only one for me and donations. Both patterns accommodate reproduction fabrics, batiks, western, animal, floral, patriotic, and vintage 1950s fabrics. The Dash and Broad Strokes are quick to construct and so I can donate to community non-profits as fund raisers. Thank you for making quilting so gratifying.

I agree on the Favorite Thing quilt. That is a for sure go to. I have done it in so many different Holiday fabrics. I have a 4th of July one, a Bright Citrus Summer Print, a Christmas print, and a gorgeous Kaffe Fasset Fall floral one. I love to take the extra triangles you cut of and make Flying geese out of them and add them to another border to make the quilt just a bit bigger. Love all your projects. I just got the 1 Block quilt book and am busily making quilts for Breast Cancer patients to donate during Cancer awareness month. My mom and I are both survivors and I love to give back to other patients going through Chemotherapy as a way to give them a hug.

That plaid! Looks so good that way. I am one of those that is strips and plaid challenged. I tried my first plaid and it looked terrible. I ended up removing it and buying a solid. After seeing it in this pattern, I may give it another try. The pattern and cutting really matter. Thx Fran and Hannah! 😊

Thank you for picking out the easy patterns. So far, I have made 2 different quilts from two of your books. The first one was Shine...love this pattern. The second one was Nine Plus One...love the big block to show off a beautiful floral pattern (focus), white on white background (fabric 2), and bright pink with white polka dots (fabric 3). Watching this video has inspired me to try Landslide. Really appreciate all the videos.
