Not sure why anyone is surprised about this; it says as much on the website that's it's down for an extended period of time. Fortunately there are plenty of other awesome roller coasters to ride in the meantime. Hopefully TT2 is back in business sooner rather than later.
My buddy drove from Florida to come and didn't check the website because he got an ad on Amazon the day they left so "why would they advertise it if it's closed for an extended period of time?" I thought he knew, but he's not an enthusiast. This isn't as uncommon of a scenario as you would think.
They didn't say they were anything more than a little disappointed. They knew it's been closed and didn't seem surprised by its closure since they already knew in the parking lot.
Dude - never do raptor at opening. The line is always crazy then dies down. We have all season FL now but going for years without, you gotta use some strategy to get the best day at CP without FL. Crowds go front to back and some will rush back to SV and Maverick. We would always do Valravn, MF, Rougarou, then go over to magnum and Gemini then back and do the front last. Saves so much time. Here’s the secret to magnum - first off, try row 3. You will want to have some room and not be stapled. The bars have spread out latches so just make sure it doesn’t clamp down on you. The more room the better. Hold it up through the ride and you’ll mostly stay off of it and just be caught by your seatbelt. Plus you’ll fly up a good bit. Magnum is one that has to be ridden a certain way and somewhat defensively but knowing how to ride it makes it a top 3/4 in the park for me
Definitely worth the trip, a world class park. I highly recommend going when children are in school and not during holidays or weekends. You will wait 20 or less mins in line as opposed to 2 or 3 hours during peak season or weekends. You can ride every ride in the park multiple times in one day.
That sucks that you came all the way from southern California to a closed Top Thrill 2. I would've loved to have gotten your review of it since I trust your opinion on coasters more than any other enthusiast. I went to Cedar Point for the first time a week ago in 2023. According to Queue Times, which has always been very accurate for me, the park was supposed to be quiet--but it certainly wasn't. At opening, Steel Vengeance was a 45 minute wait and Maverick was a 90 minute wait. I ended up getting a Fast Lane ASAP so that I could spend the day riding coasters as opposed to waiting in long lines. Even so, with a Fast Lane, Steel Vengeance was a 20 to 30 minute wait each time I rode it, which I do consider to be a long wait for a Fast Lane. I only got 3 rides on Steel Vengeance throughout my 11 hours there. Luckily, I got many rides on my favorite coaster in the park - Maverick. I fucking love that coaster, and do think it does outdo Steel Vengeance. Don't get me wrong, I loved Steel Vengeance, and it is an excellent coaster, but there is also something lacking in it for me. For one thing, I do think the second half is too repetitive. I'll take Iron Gwazi and ArieForce One over it any day. Maverick sits at my #3 favorite coaster -- surpassing ArieForce One, which used to be my #3. I agree with you about Rougarou. I really enjoyed it, and I do believe it's underrated as well. I like it more than Dominator, which I like a lot. I think Rougarou has a better layout and more bite to it than Dominator. Gemini is a really fun coaster. I had a great time on it, and I was quite impressed with it. Valravn is fun. I enjoyed it, but it is my least favorite of the dive coasters that I've ridden. Raptor was really good, but it's at the bottom of my list of the inverts I've ridden. I, too, like Banshee more than Raptor (Banshee is my 2nd favorite invert after Montu and ahead of Afterburn). GateKeeper is badass. I loved it. Unfortunately, that was another coaster that had a long wait even with a Fast Lane, so I didn't invest in getting as many rides on it as I would've liked to. So, I agree with your friend who disliked Magnum. I really dislike that coaster as well. It was one of the most underwhelming roller coaster rides of my life. I honestly found it to be boring, uncomfortable, and I got none of the airtime that some people rave about. It was a one and done for me. No lie -- I like Gemini much better than Magnum. By the way, that bird that you saw on the brake-run of Maverick, I saw one of those birds for the first time two weeks ago while taking a student on a nature hike on the campus of the school where I work. I had never seen one of them before, and I was impressed with how beautiful it was. After that, I started seeing them regularly on our nature walks. A coworker looked up the type of bird for me, and it's a red-winged blackbird.. Sorry, don't know why there are some random lines through some of my writing???
The park was slammed that day! I was there the same day (saw you were there on IG) I've never seen Steel Vengeance's line move so quick. Ops was killing it. So weird they denied your row request, cuz I asked for the back and they said ok. After years of riding Magnum, I've learned how to ride it so it's not too uncomfortable. Everything was running so fast that day!
😂 Thatmade me laugh. I used to LOVE these kind of rides, with Big Bad Wolf being my favorite. The ones that still survive are rough as hell, but sorta cheesy fun. These guys seem really whiney in this vid.
Bro I went on the 18th and I was so mad too. I had bought a Top Thrill 2 shirt online when it opened thinking I would ride it but now I have a shirt of a lawn ornament.
We were there 6/3-6/5. My 5-year-old son dragged me onto Magnum a dozen times, Millie 8 and Gemini at least 6 times. We were on Iron Dragon the same time as you, I saw our red wagon out front in the video.
At times, my eyes ache from rolling back into my head when I read negative comments from ‘enthusiast snobs’ ragging on Millie. Hey enthusiast snobs: you do not get ‘enthusiast-points’ nor is your status elevated in the community for ragging on Millie.
It's ok, Marc. I live in Washington State and traveled cross-country to hit up Great Adventure yesterday. Kingda Ka, El Toro, Superman AND Jersey Devil were all closed. I felt so cheated. I would have traded every other coaster JUST to have ridden El Toro :(
Just a tip next time wait to ride raptor, gatekeeper until later in the day. Everyone stops at the front so they get long lines. The hour wait you had would be a walk on had you started in the back of the park.
I too agree that the assigned seating is stupid. I was at cedar point just recently for 2 days and rode steel vengeance 3 times and row requests were very inconsistent. The first time they allowed me to go in the back, the second time the guy in the station wasn’t willing to give us the front row but we begged him and he gave in. The third time the operator didn’t even care about allowing us to be in the front and she forced us to be in the middle and was quite mean about it. On the other rides such as maverick, gatekeeper, millennium and raptor they were chill with letting us be in the front row. I hope cedar point does something with that as I’ve never been denied a row request before and that honestly angered me and took away from the experience. My main park which is kings island almost always grants row requests and they are very nice about it as well and are willing to give us the front row unlike cedar point.
Sorry that you and your party did not get the opportunity to experience TT2. Would enjoy a follow-up visit video when you do decide to return and ride it! Highly recommend taking advantage of the all day dining plan. It’s a great deal especially if you’re visiting all day.
You can get permission from the park, or do what I did and get video sunglasses. If his channel gets big enough they'll come after him. There was a guy a few years ago who's channel got shut down and his last video was him at Kings Island being greeted by security saying he couldn't come in and they knew all about what he was doing.
@@tractorgt You can get permission under special circumstances, like having the actually safe equipment to do so like Coaster Force. This guy doesn't, and lies about it in the comments. I ask every channel that films on rides the same question: How did you get permission when everyone else doesn't? They never answer because they don't have permission. I know the likelihood of a chest mounted Go Pro flying off is low, but ANY item taken on a coaster could fly off and either hit someone below or on the ride. Channels like this and East Coasters constantly break the rules to film on rides, and it would be pretty funny if someone forwarded said videos to the parks they have visited. I get it, you like coasters and are trying to make content, but to break safety rules to do so pisses me off.
This park is still very high on my priority list, it’s the rite of passage lol Such a bummer that TT2 was closed, but still looks like everyone still had a fun visit. I empathize with Zamperla since they probably have had a lot of pressure to fix the trains and wheels to get it back open. And well they definitely are in Intamin’s shadow and you guys are right, they should not have not abandoned them as far as the engineering. Intamin has experience creating dozens of pretty much perfect roller coasters and after my experience on Pantheon, definitely a fan of the lap bar and definitely understand that you experience the forces more powerfully and don’t even get me started on the zero g stall🤩 But hopefully Zamperla can fix it for guests to enjoy.
Maybe I'm alone on this... but Millennium Force is STILL my Favorite traditional Roller coaster in the world. * Top Dragster 2 I haven't rode yet, so that may change my mind?? Great video as usual... Cheers 👍👍
Thinking Banshee is better than Raptor is crazyyyyy… Kidding everyone has their own favorite but the Banshee has such a bad rattle it’s pretty unenjoyable despite its positives
i went to cedar point around mid july 2024 (not exactly sure when) and tt2 was still closed. i wasn’t too mad since i was planning on riding it because that’s way too much for me, but i’m sure it was disappointing to many people. i’m not sure if it’s running now but if it’s not i hope they can get it back up and running soon.
Great video. miss Cedar Point. it's been about 12 years since I've been there. Last time i was there, was the last season of Disaster Transport. So i've never been on Steel Vengeance, Gatekeeper, Valravn and it was Mantis last time i was there. I was there opening year for Millennium Force and then again the opening year for Top Thrill Dragster (i lived in Pittsburgh at the time). It was about 2-3 weeks after it Top Thrill Dragster and they were having issues with it. We waited ALL day as we could see them testing it. They finally opened it up around 7pm that day (which was amazing to me as I thought they would just call it a day, but they worked to get it open for a few hours) and we got 2 rides on it. Anyway, bringing back memories, need to get back there....once TT2 opens back up!
I love watching your content and this was an amazing video! I just want to add your bad experience with that worker at steel I’m sorry that happened. But in the past when I worked there we weren’t allowed to overfill queues shoots and if they were longer than what we are allowed to put we can’t fill them anymore. This mostly has to be done for breakdowns for more room and fire exit situations.
I love the video. That house you did the outro in front of is the Helen Keller House. There's a button you push to hear her story. Gatekeeper is my favorite 5-7 p.m. pick me up. I love the breeze and the lake wind after walking around all day, it wakes you up and cools you off at the same time. TT2 - I agree with you 100% on Zamperla vs Intamin. Seeing TT2 not open makes me want to walk by that tall structure and just "Hawk Tuah" on the new Zamperla failure, just spit on that thing. Wild Mouse is so cute though - nothing wrong with Top Thrill Mew. I love Raptor - B&M's version of Velocicoaster (well, not really V-C, but they were both creatures in Jurrasic Park) Cedar Downs is my fave dark ride - Millenium Horse. Magnum XL is torture for me, but it's got the coolest-looking train/station combo as far as aesthetics. Stevie/Millie/ and Mav are all bae - yes, Imma coaster hussy. Great work!
Interesting how you always seem to have POVs where other vloggers say they aren't allowed. You just straight up take the go pro on without anyone noticing?
That sucks that they’re not accommodating to row requests. A lot of people travel from far away and spend a lot of money to come here, so it’s not too much to ask that we at least get to sit where we want to.
The key to Magnum is to leave the restraint a bit loose and then push up against it with one arm while you ride so that it doesn't come down on you. Also, the back is better than the front. Row 3 is cool, but the back is the wave with Magnum
i’m actually suprised you were accepting your row requests on steel vengeance. i rode about 20 times in 3 days and was denied the back every single time. had to luck it and get one time. but in maverick i was able to get the back every time.
In defence of Raptor: There's a thing I call B&M-itis, which especially affects larger looping designs from B&M. B&M-itis is when the coaster starts off really impressive, frontloads a lot of breathtaking elements, and then sort of peeters out at the end. It's funny you should mention Alpengeist, as Alpengeist is one of the biggest offenders. So are Rougarou and Gatekeeper at Cedar Point, as well as things like Great Bear, Flying Dinosaur, Pyrenees, take your pick. Raptor is notable for averting this, with that intense helix at the end. This is why I think Raptor holds up very well among large looping B&M coasters, inverted or otherwise.
I think Valravn is underrated. It’s smooth, has a short, but decent layout and is just so much fun. Sure, I definitely prefer Yukon Striker to Valravn, but you can’t deny the fun that you get on this ride.
😂😂 Just got back from Cedar Point. (Aug '24). Its still closed.Thats what they get for hiring cheap, instead of going back to the original. -shrugs - And honestly who cares? There are SOOO many fantastic coasters and flat rides there. Got a night ride on Millie this past visit. Was brilliant. Glad you guys had fun anyways. 🎢
I really get tired of enthusiasts need to denigrate Steel Vengance because it’s the most popular pick for “best coaster in the world”, just comes off as arrogant, like there’s a sentiment that people want to find things wrong with it just because most people think it’s the best in the world.
good job with the povs man. going to cedar point wed, thurs, friday first time ever with my brothers n dad gonna be so lit also my home park is ca wonderland whats ur opinion on it?
@@DSoto-nf8je 😂😂 hey now that I just took a closer look at you guys, yeah now I see why we don't agree we have nothing in common😂 you kids like yall’s and I'll like mine
My spouse and I really like Rougarou too, and I saw a theory online. The person said that it seems like taller people (but like under 6'3) have less headbanging, and tend to prefer the ride more. We're both 5'10, so is our friend that we've gone with, and never get any head banging. So maybe there's some truth to that.
Thank you for watching! 🎢

Anyway, bringing back memories, need to get back there....once TT2 opens back up!
Thanks for watching! I hope you get back to the park soon 🤞🏻
I love Raptor - B&M's version of Velocicoaster (well, not really V-C, but they were both creatures in Jurrasic Park)
Cedar Downs is my fave dark ride - Millenium Horse.
Magnum XL is torture for me, but it's got the coolest-looking train/station combo as far as aesthetics.
Stevie/Millie/ and Mav are all bae - yes, Imma coaster hussy.
Great work!
Going July 31!!
Just went yesterday! Absolutely STUNNING!! Disappointed that TT2 wasn't open, but it is what it is 🤷
🧐 but when was it announced to have reopened from the initial shut down? I hadn’t noticed that it reopened
Top thrill 2 probably won’t open for a while
Yea the row request thing is stupid. I'd walk off the beast at ki if they didn't let me in row 18 every time.
Coaster dash at my home park!
Wait does s&s have the suspended swinging coaster?
Interesting how you always seem to have POVs where other vloggers say they aren't allowed. You just straight up take the go pro on without anyone noticing?
That sucks that they’re not accommodating to row requests. A lot of people travel from far away and spend a lot of money to come here, so it’s not too much to ask that we at least get to sit where we want to.
The key to Magnum is to leave the restraint a bit loose and then push up against it with one arm while you ride so that it doesn't come down on you. Also, the back is better than the front. Row 3 is cool, but the back is the wave with Magnum
I think the girls need to lower their expectations and they would have a great time.
I love your videos! (Made me in love with roller coasters)
i’m actually suprised you were accepting your row requests on steel vengeance. i rode about 20 times in 3 days and was denied the back every single time. had to luck it and get one time. but in maverick i was able to get the back every time.
Valrayvn is a monster coaster too
You never want to hit up Raptor first thing after park opening unless you beat everyone to it.
why is that?
@@Noodlesnake22 Very long lines early in the day.
Yeah Iron Dragon could leave and nobody would miss it.
What camera do you use?
This is why I think Raptor holds up very well among large looping B&M coasters, inverted or otherwise.
how was you able to get a camera on the rides when cameras are prohibited
raptor is waaayy better than forceless talon
Raptor is a back seat ride and you never ever ride it first, it always has a huge wait until 2PM then has 0 wait the rest of the day.
I was at cedar point yesterday and they were testing it
It's been closed for weeks. a split second of research would've told you that.
i live like 20 mins from cp and its always a great time
Look at how small power tower looks compared to top thrill 2
Also because it is
How do you get the opportunity to film onride at most of the parks you go to? I'm interested in filming on ride at some point too.
I haven't been to CP since 2009. I Need to get back!
How are you able to do a pov at cedar fair parks
camera glasses
@@samu-chan No he films with what looks to be a wrist mounted go-Pro, which is against park rules.
@@ryanmcferron5739 that’s why I suggested a safer alternative 🤓☝️
I really connected with those terrified riders on valravn. Griffon was the 2nd coaster I ever rode and I was making noises like that
Thank you again for another amazing video!! We loved everything about your video and learned so much!! Our first trip is coming so fast!! 😊
you gotta live under a rock to not know TT2 was closed lmao
Love the vids bro ❤
You got there extra early? I already see a bunch of cars in the parking lot. Not a good sign.
Went yesterday and man was it fun... no maverick cuz the line was to long but rode everything else
Did you have a fast pass for this trip?
I really get tired of enthusiasts need to denigrate Steel Vengance because it’s the most popular pick for “best coaster in the world”, just comes off as arrogant, like there’s a sentiment that people want to find things wrong with it just because most people think it’s the best in the world.
I couldn’t agree more! It’s absolutely phenomenal 👍🏻
good job with the povs man. going to cedar point wed, thurs, friday first time ever with my brothers n dad gonna be so lit also my home park is ca wonderland whats ur opinion on it?
Absolutely no longer pushes the boundaries. All depends on we’re your coming from, extremely easy to get to w/out a car. Enjoyed video
It was great meeting you after the millie ride !
Those Zamp trains can’t handle the speed 😂
Magnums airtime is incredible in the back, it’s such a great ride
Can't believe top thrill 2 really exist it's so massive cedar point did the magic again people 😮😮😮😅😮
Thanks for the footage top thrill 2 is unbelievably massive not surprised it broke down its to big
One of my favorite rides at that park is Magnum XL 200. It’s such a fun ride filled with tons of ejector airtime.
Are you on crack? Magnum is beyond rough
My daughter rode the other one the day it opened so many times that she kind of didn't have to stand in line anymore.
She's a nut!
Just left left Cedar Point 2 months ago💪🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏿
Doesn’t ride in the magic seat and complains about the airtime on magnum
@@deadlylightningspirit4295 Trust me, I have many times 🤣
Steel force better than Magnum??? The blasphemy…. That hurt my soul 😢
When I wrote it I had a headache but that's because it was at night time
Blue streak is just like the racer only without the racing part in my opinion.
Stopped the video when I kept hearing underwhelmed. Yeah ok I’m out
Maybe we should just lie and give dishonest thoughts for clout and views 🤣
@@CoasterDash yeah or be over negative for clout same thing
Good one less crybaby that cant handle the truth lmao
@@DSoto-nf8je 😂😂 hey now that I just took a closer look at you guys, yeah now I see why we don't agree we have nothing in common😂 you kids like yall’s and I'll like mine
@@DSoto-nf8je thick spidey 😂😂 hahaha
I went ☝🏽 there in ✌🏽 weeks ago and it's closed til next year 🤦🏽♂️
My spouse and I really like Rougarou too, and I saw a theory online. The person said that it seems like taller people (but like under 6'3) have less headbanging, and tend to prefer the ride more. We're both 5'10, so is our friend that we've gone with, and never get any head banging. So maybe there's some truth to that.
I get nothing but a slight rattle on Rougarou
We live only an hour away from cedar point been a favorite of ours for a while
