Thanks a million for the useful and helpful video tutorial! I recently picked up an '01 X5 E53 3.0 with a little more than 100K on the odometer. I recently purchased the CCV kit and attempted to replace it without taking the intake manifold out because I thought that there would be a need for the coolant to be drained and I didn't want to do that. What ended up happening was that I broke the infamous bent plastic hose in half while trying to jimmy it to fit in the valve with the very little to no room I had. I have to wait for another hose to be delivered and I will remove the intake this time. This will be extra helpful because I also have a '01 530i which will need this replaced as well. Cheers.

Hi, My bmw E83 crankcase vent valve went bad with pressure in engine & blow out my valve cover gasket. Do you think it could have damage any other seals?
That's why he said start with the pcv. Cheaper in parts. But very true I didn't think of that. I have those codes so will start with the pcv first but thanks for mentioning the DISA valves lol. 01 bmw x5 manual at 236k Barley started to have these problems + more all at once
