Awesome list. Thanks Noah.
1) "A million miles in a 1000 years" by Donald Miller
2) "Maverick" by Ricardo Semmler
3) "The Power of Full Engagement" by Tony Schwartz and Jim Loehr
4) "The Surrender Experiment" by Michael A Singer
5) "Million Dollar Consulting" by Alan Weiss
6) "The Score Will Take Care of Itself" by Bill Walsh
7) "The Paradox of Choic - Why Less is More" by Barry Schwartz
Thank you Noah. Awesome insights! Thanks for sharing.
P.S. I really enjoyed "The Power of Story" also written by Jim Loehr.
All the best.
"If you want an interesting life, just be around interesting people" - Looks very simple, but it's life changing
The Book of Joy.
How to Have a Good Day.
Barking Up the Wrong Tree.
Delivering Happiness.
A Guide to the Good Life.
5 of my favorites with themes in stoicism, finding content, how to define success, etc.
Never understood people who don't see the point in reading. Don't they realise some of the most successful people have been able to synthesise sometimes an entire life's work of lessons, strategies, and tools in two or three hundred pages? And isn't that worth spending an afternoon of your life to learn what it took others sometimes decades to learn?
Yes.
Agreed!
But today the market is full of bullshit books so people have a hard time finding the good ones from the bad ones
@@anzalkhan4869 v good point man and I fully agree. Even the NYT bestseller list is completely fabricated by marketing, schmoozing, and campaigns aimed at getting people to buy awful books. When it comes down to it I feel you just have to take book recommendations from people you actually respect
@@SamMartinPeakPerformance yeah like the classic ones like Meditations and Letters from a stoic, then taking recommendations from really smart people like Naval Ravikant and Warren Buffet
The War of Art by Steven Pressfield probably was the biggest life changing book for me, business wise.
That’s a great book for sure!
I just wanted to recommend that…
It is a magnificent book!
i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow lost the password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
I often hear when someone complaints that they have no time to read books. What? People overwatch TV for 5-6 hours a day. Stop wasting your time with TV - start reading books, especially before sleeping. I did it!
We actually don't own a TV! With sport + cooking + laptop learning it's fine. Saying that a TV is pretty good for hosting friends so we might compromise by buying a projector.
Yes!
The other day I asked you on Twitter to recommend a book about making better decisions and you recommended "Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less." Man, that book changed my life. Thank you. I also read MAVERICK, thanks for those two recommendations. I'll make sure to read all the books that you recommend.
Thanks for this video. Now I got new books to add to my collection.
I was just looking for a video on what books to read, thanks.
Great poster in the Backround. Il Pirata, Italian Legend
Thank you again Noah for all the great free content!
Zero to one by Peter Thiel and Waking up by Sam Harris, both were life-changing for me
"Bonds that make us free" by Terry Warner. I've also listened to 1000+ books. This one is a top 3 for me.
Wow! Kudos on sharing different books other than the same ones everyone talks about. Some books I never heard of before. Will surely check them out. Thanks,
The best youtuber I've seen yet
Have not heard any of these books- will be buying them!
Your 168 by Harry Kraemer was the last book that opened my eyes. Dale Carnegie’s classics (my dad was a DC instructor)- but especially “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living”. Fiction John Steinbeck’s “East of Eden” really helped me get through a breakup. I loved this video... Zuck cracked me up.
I read Million Dollar Consulting after you had Alan Weiss on the podcast. It's an awesome book, extremely practical. Now you've got me wanting to read A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. Might have to look for it at Half Priced Books. Great list!
Thanks again Noah! Singer's other book "The Untethered Soul" is great too.
Thanks Jennae.
Thanks for posting these insights! I love adding new books to my collection.
I read two awesome books this year: The Courage to Be Disliked and Never Eat Alone. 10 out of 10 recommendations for anyone interested 👌🏾
Thank you for sharing!
@@OnePercentBetter My pleasure. Loved the animations too!
Million Dollar Weekend - A great book for everyone that want to start a business
Nice one Noah, love the poster of Il Pirata! I actually read the Power of Full Engagement and The Ultimate Sales Machine following your recommendations some time ago - both brilliant reads.
One thing I have learned through reading, is that whilst I have this itch that freedom from obligations and stresses is what I should strive for, it turns out it's actually these that give me fulfilment and a community to be part of, both of which turn out to be pretty important to me. The Ying and the Yang of life...
Anyway, if you're ever in Oxford UK and feel like a bike ride let me know. Keep smashing it, been following your content from years and it's helped me be succeed in many ways.
Thank you Noah. I just ordered every one of the books you suggested. Two books by the same author which changed my life and kicked me out of the rut I had been in: "The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime!" by MJ DeMarco and "UNSCRIPTED: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Entrepreneurship" also by MJ DeMarco.
Great video and suggestions. There are some new ones here I need to add to my reading list. "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" seems like a really interesting one.
For me the most impactful ones probably were:
*Total Recall (Arnold Schwarzenegger Biography)* - He came from the small town in Austria and impacted the whole. Some of the biggest lessons from him:
1) Use money to protect your vision. Arnold had a clear goal where he wanted to end up with his career and he didn't want to put himself in the position where he has to take acting roles he doesn't like. So he always made sure that he is working hard on the small side jobs/ventures which gave him a bit of financial freedom and leverage with the negotiations and decisions.
2) Don't overcomplicate. One of the big challenges in life is trying to figure everything out before you make your next move. Arnold deliberately tried to not overcomplicate when starting a new venture because he didn't want to be demotivated by all the challenges. he preferred to figure it out along the way.
3) Learn to market, sell and make deals. Arnold wasn't just a very talented a naturally gifted guy, he was also a great marketer and salesman. He understood that no matter what he does he needs to sell it well and make great deals. As bodybuilder he sold himself with personality and confidence, as a real estate investor he showed he can make profitable deals, as an actor he understood the importance of marketing, promotion and general pre-premiere buildup and he even managed to sell himself as a great potential for a governor.
*Ego is the Enemy (Ryan Holiday)* - I am young and still haven't reached success that would test me but this book showed me great examples how ego can sometimes pull you in the wrong direction. Confidence is important as well as saying yes to opportunities but sometimes to get the great things done the optimal position for you to be is to be a sixth man I guess.
*Science of Leonardo (Fritjof Capra)* - Great biography of Leonardo Da Vinci which mainly taught me that being curious and casting a wide net when it comes to learning can be a huge competitive advantage. Leonardo is mostly known as an artist and engineer but a lot of people might not know that he was also a great botanist, geologist, he studied anatomy etc. Even though this is a wide range of disciplines he found different ways to combine this knowledge and reach breakthroughs.
*Losing my Virginity (Richard Branson)* - Another great Biography. Richard is dyslexic and this was a great challenge for him as a student. But even though he couldn't be a great student he became a great entrepreneur. From running a student magazine, record label through running airlines, spaceflight companies he showed that you can do it all. Aside from his business successes he is also a great adventurer as well as humanitarian. I think that even if you don't like him he is a great inspiration and an example what can happen if you trow yourself at life instead of threading through it slowly and carefully.
A million miles in a thousand years is one of my all time favorite books.
Great suggestions, and nice video!
I also recommend reading “How to win Friends and influence People” it’s very good!
Thanks Noah, this was great. You've asked for recommendations, so here are my favorits: Mastery by George Leonard - reading it for fifth time now, it's extremely well written book. Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott - on how to write well and live a great life, tons of useful insights on writing. On the more popular side, I really enjoyed Sapiens, but I guess you don't need an explanation for this one :). Hope this helps someone to decide what to read next, after your awesome list :)
0:39 Animated Noah 😆
I want some more animated Noah!!!
I love how all of these books are books I have never heard of (beside the Bill Walsh book)!
Since you mentioned The Surrender Experiment by Michael Singer - I would recommend The Untethered Soul by Singer - really good.
The Surrender Experiment was life-changing for me too! His talks that are being shared for free from the Temple of the Universe website have also been incredible for me right now as well!
One of my favorite books is Never Split The Difference
Hi Noah, love your content. More power to you.
Please make a video on growing network for business.
I can recommend: "The Billion Dollar Secret: 20 Principles of Billionaire Wealth and Success" By Rafael Badziag.
Noah...is this one of those shared office space buildings? I think that whole idea is great. Who ever came up with that concept a big thumbs up to them
thats a smart collab
The emyth, never split the difference, the code of the extraordinary mind
I love how Donald Miller's book is the first on the list as I'm a huge fan of Story Brand and Business Made Simple. But the book on this list I'm going to read first is Million Dollar Consulting. I'm a fan of Jordan Peterson who said in an interview that, "If you can write well and you can speak well, your deadly." The book I'm reading right now with the most impact is The Millionaire Fast Lane by MJ Demarco. I don't usually care for the clickbaity word "millionaire" on books or blog posts or RUclips titles but I'm getting a huge amount of useful content about how to let go of the idea of starting a business from your passion and just go out into the world and solve a problem and scale it. (And your RUclips channel is nailing it! Thanks!)
Hi Noah thanks for awesome video and appsumo ... I have a question, do you read these books or listen to them and how do you choose which books to read / list to and based on what?
Thanks!!
love the Mr. Clean look for Noah
A book that is currently helping me is “The Practice of Management” by Peter Drucker it’s so good to organize my life.
getting to say yes, never split the difference, the top 5 regrets of the dying (I read this 3x or more a year)
The book that had the biggest impact on me is No More Mr. Nice Guy by Dr. Robert Glover
I second that.
Loved that book. I strongly recommend listening to the audio book.
Great book, taught me to never stop striving to be better, there should be no destination...
Cool!
"If you are reading the same books as everyone else, you have no chance of winning!" -This is so true! How do you find these books no one else is reading? How do you determine it's worth picking up and reading?
8:20 Reading the books that most people have _not_ heard of is how you're going to get an advantage. If you're reading the same books that everyone else has heard of, you have no chance of winning. Well said!
The secrets of the millionaire mind impacted my life the most!
@noah Kagan Noah I have a question regarding book reading: Should someone reading many books of different topics (like you who read 1000+ books) or focus on fewer but reading multiple times? I have read around 100+ and I can say that I can't remember the main points of most of them.
Thanks for the video. Do you have any resources that you can recommend for improving communication?
gary halbert letters. check out neville medhora.
Books always our best friends :)
The book that impacted me the most is Building a Storybrand! (Donald Miller is so great right?)
Anyway, I think it would be cool too if you also release a video of your top favorite books for 2020 - the crazy year! 😁📚
That book is on my short list. I have all the books and ratings on goodreads.com if you look me up :)

Fantastic read
Definitely Company of One & Built to sell.
Hey Noah - how did you read a 1000 books while juggling fitness, gf and running your business? I feel like a lot of us fall into the trap of not being able to read as many books as we want
Every year I re-read "Let's Get Real or Let's Not Play" by Mahan Khalsa. (in my opinion the greatest sales booke ver wrtiiten) And the Four Hour Work Week was a game changer for me; really got me thinking differently and focused on productivity
A book that really has had a big impact on me is The Rational Male by Rollo Tomasse
Watching your videos for a while now. Wanted to thank you for your effort. I'd like to have a zoom call with you. No agenda, no goal, just random interaction between random people sharing random thoughts. Would be happy to hear from you :) stay healthy
Thanks for NOT creating another list of the same books as everyone else. I read 1-2 books a week and I love that I haven't read any of these. One book you may be interested in is Slipstream Time Hacking by Benjamin P. Hardy. The book explains how to live thousands of years worth of life in a single life-time. Most people think of time as distance. It's not. You can create more time. Hint: "The faster you move, the slower time passes, the longer you live."
Hola Noah:)
Love the video, Im starting a new Startup Agency to Help Tech Entrepreneurs, and you sold me on the book of Million Dollar Consulting. Would you be open to creating a video reviewing the book and the top 3 most important chapters from your perspective?
