I absolutely adore Nomos and have the club sport. The only places I could really see it improved would be in power reserve and antimagnetic properties.
I love everything about this watch. I must be an old fart because I wouldn't market it as a "dive" watch without a timing bezel, no matter how water resistant it is. But I guess, "to dive watch specs" might be too complicated for the public. Whatever. Love that dial.
As a long time diver, it takes a lot of imagination and the stretching of that imagination beyond all limits to refer to this a dive watch! It has none of the attributes except for water resistance. As some field watches are beginning to appear with this type of wr, I think it's probably better to call it a field watch, but then it's only a field watch if it has lume on the hands as it needs it when you're out camping in the wilds at night. You don't mention if it's lumed or not, or maybe I missed it. If not, that's a final nail in the coffin of any suggestion of it being a dive watch. Having said that, it's a real beauty. I would label it as a very good looking dress watch to bring to a house party, and if you get tipsy and accidentally fall into the swimming pool, the watch will be fine .😉
@@MPD90 They may sell it as a dive watch but it is in no way shape or form a dive watch. I wholeheartedly agree with Brian M. It is better suited as a field watch. However, not one I would wear in the field. It is beautiful though.
@@MPD90 Let someone die on a dive because they ran out of air, while wearing this watch. NOMOS gets sued, because they advertise it as a dive watch, but it doesn't even have a rotating bezel, let alone a one-directional rotating bezel. Calling this a dive watch is borderline negligent, and Jenni should know better.
I stopped diving in 2015 after 46 years. At the end my last dive computer could tell me how much air I had left, my depth and dive profile, what my no stop time was and if I was ascending too fast. It also had a fairly accurate compass built in. All this for, if memory serves me correctly, about £350. Why would you wear a watch like the Nomos instead?
I discovered this watch this year from you and it's been both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I instantly fell in love with the 740 design specifically! And a curse because I instantly discovered that it is impossible to find on the market in 2024! Thank you 😍😭
I own the club 39 neomatik and absolutely love it. The california dial and the playfulness of it always make me choose it over my other pieces in the collection.
I own the Siren White edition of this Nomos. It is my daily watch and I love it! Great to see you doing this review. The watch watch is kinda under the radar but clearly deserves to be in the spotlights.
Totally agree jenni . I think Nomos are such an important company in the watch industry with their very defined design and excellent craftsmanship . I own the Tangente ahoi 40 mm and it’s a such a well crafted piece but I find it hard to love . The fact that it’s all dial and the way the lugs jut out makes it look huge and quite cumbersome on the wrist . The lugs are part of of the DNA but feel they could perhaps look at curving them a little , feel this would project a more refined look .
Great quick review! I love the Nomos club datum in the 38.5 mm size with the hand wind movement and display back. Such a clean purist design that will never go out of style.
I finally received this watch last month after your video gave me Nomos brain worms when I was first starting out trying to find a "fancy" watch that I liked. I'm lucky I gave in and decided to order it when I did because they took it out of the catalog a couple months after I placed the order to make room for the new Club Sport line. It's so good! I haven't been able to take it off basically since I got it. Thank you for making this very nice review of it!
My Orion 35 should be here soon and I must say I cannot wait! Customer service, the quality of the watches and their value for money are fantastic. Excellent brand :)
I recently catched a Nomos Ahoi Neomatik, in its limited Bucherer blue colour on the Nomos website shop and am over the moon with it :-). The dial is not as dark as the usual Nomos blue, and most important (to my eyes, everyone his/her own tastes here), has silver hands and greyish numbers, that I find much more accorded to the case and colour scheme, in comparison to the guilt the blue Nomos one has. This is the first quite pricey watch I buy, and I went for Nomos because of their amazing inhouse calibre 3001 and their achievement with their Swing System. I found it important to support that level of innovation and craft. As you said, unpretending dive watch, but capable nevertheless, and a refreshing twist on Bauhaus too :-). I concour with you about the Nylon Nomos strap, which is beautifully made I think. All the best Jenni, keep up and running, you are great at this :-)
First Time I have to strongly disagree with you. I’m a professional explorer, and I can tell you this watch is everything but a dive watch. It’s a dressy watch with 200m of WR that’s it. First of all the most obvious feature missing here the bezel. But even more important : the fully polish case. This must be a real nightmare taking this watch outside, especially under direct sunlight. If you go even only swimming with that watch you’ll be blind at the first glance. Keep up the good work anyway, amazing content every time.

@@Sandouras I know what a proper dive watch is like the millions of people that ever read the definition, I just don't get what a "professionnal explorer" is and why they always need to show off when nobody asks
I’ve become a recent fan of Nomos. Bought a Club Onyx. I first thought that the sports bracelet was going to be weird but I love it. Great option for those that don’t like fabric straps. Really high quality and well engineered bracelet. And I even love the pronounced lug look on the wrist lol.
Another refreshing video by Jenni Elle. The Nomos Club Neomatik, regardless of it's 200 WR, is without doubt more of a dress watch than a dive watch; no rotating timing bezel, a fully polished case, a fabric strap. On every other front however it is tastefully well designed, but as you said, lacks a proper power reserve movement. Two things could have been mentioned, lume & approx. list price.
Wow! What a beautiful watch! I purchased this watch right after watching this video. It reminds me of a Gulf Porsche in which I adore so much. This is my first expensive timepiece that I am excited to wear and to begin my collection with. Thanks!

It's nice to see you review a good quality German watch which is in reach for us regular folks who can't fork out for Rolexes, thanks Jenni! Nomos are great. More of these types of reviews please!
The dial is beautiful in its simplicity which harkens back to the pocket watches of a bygone era with a distinctive modern take. Calling it a dive watch with a railroad dial is so uncivilized, but refreshing as it strikes up the conversation which all great watches do.
I can agree with you that the most important thing when looking at a diver nowadays isn't the depth of its water resistance however I can't consider any watch a "diver" without it having a uni-directional rotating bezel.
Dive watches today are a plus. No worries about getting exposed to water at indicated depth. You're never going to get there. Divers Pro/sport today use dive computers. You'll see dive watches on snorkelers. This watch is the exact example of what we should be seeing in sport recreation watches. I love my divers and wouldn't give them up. When I snorkel I have one watch for doing it. The only way it's ever going to 660ft. Is the guys who just wacked me on the boat didn't take the watch before they tossed me overboard. Beautiful watch. Thank you Jenni.
It looks fabulous apart from those lugs which I hadn't noticed until you pointed them out, then could'nt take my eyes off. One of the very few watches which would be spoiled by a date window.
I love it! Thanks for the great review. I agree with you about the long lugs on the case - it would be nice to see shorter lugs on the more compact/ladies' styles.
Love this video. Jenni, you are a naturally good communicator with a lovely manner. Rather than mainly covering watches like Rolex, AP, VC etc, can you do more videos covering some other brands eg. A very good looking watch. With the WR, great as an all rounder I think. One that is good for the beach, pool or lake, casual, going out, even a bit more dressed up. I would still be cautious of taking such an expensive watch into the water though! Wouldn't want it to get scratched up. I'm sure you can take it on a dive (using a dive computer), but probably not really a dive watch. Excellent review as always Jenni. Thank you for the Nomos diver review. Recently vacationed in Alaska and took one, yes, only one watch, my Vaer D5 Atlantic because it is tough, a diver, and frankly, if something happened to it, it's replaceable. I'm now going to check into the Nomos diver. Be well and looking forward to more of your videos.
A great review Jenni. I have a non diver Ludwig 36 with the same Neomatic DUW3001 movement, the Club is certainly one that I would consider as my next Nomos as its water resistance is something I would not need to worry about. I have to agree that the Nomos lugs certainly reach out.
That's a really nice watch -0 thanks for introducing it. The only negative for me is those even numbered numerals. I don't know why, but for me 3-9-12 would work where 2-4-8-10-12 doesn't.
Could someone please explain why she keeps calling it a dive watch. A dive watch has to be able to track the time you are under the water. It's a high quality, simple and clean, slightly sporty dress watch that's water resistant to 200m.
Sure - look at all the comments. Calling this a Diver gives so much more attention. She would have never achieved this by pointing out the 200m water resistance as a cool feature
Super Uhrenvorstellung! Nachdem sie nun die perfekte Uhr für meine Frau wäre und scheinbar discontinued ist, weißt Du, ob wir nur falsch suchen oder es eine schöne, ähnliche Alternative gäbe? Viele Grüße!
Dear Jennie, can you do a review on Botta-Design watches? Specially Botta Calvius black edition. It would be great hearing your thoughts on the brand and its design. Thank you so much.
I do not like the classic diver esthetic myself, so went for a Mühle Glashütte Panova Grün as my "do anything including jumping in the water" watch. Replaced the horrid fabric Nato strap with a Milanese mesh and have been very pleased with it.
Thanks Jenni for another great review. Overall I like the watch even if I do not consider it a diver watch because of the open back case and the absence of the numbered bezel. Th only thinks I don’t like are the minute and hour hands which do not fit at all the design and the color of the dial.
Vielen danke Jenni, will show this one to my missus - a candy pink rolex is sadly unobtanium outside of 3x pricing in the grey. That said, I am hoping I can convince her on a GO seaQ.
Lovely! This is the watch that came in second in my own diver/everyday 'contest'. I think it'd look best if I lived by the sea - I still might buy one if I retire there...
I’m not much into bauhaus design, but cool watch. My gut reaction is that I don’t think it should be called a ‘dive watch’ without a timing bezel, but then there are Panerais…
@@triniboy05 I know about Panerai history, so my statement goes further. I dive, never seen any diver wearing a Panerai in five continents. Lots of Citizen, Seiko, even Rolex or Omega. But the thing is that Panerai, until the 70s, was a watch company only for the Italian Naval force, and they were mainly made by Rolex! Only in the 90s they used the brand with commercial purposes, and for the upgrade market. They are decorative items, luxury items, nice and all that dandy, but not reallly contemporary dive watches. Not many into that category. Cheers and enjoy (watches and life).
Jenni....Love your Videos! I appreciate that you give attention to more affordable timepieces in addition to the Rolex's and AP's, etc.! One Thing.... Could you ask for the "Thumbs Up" Just a bit earlier before you finish? It will give a bit more time to "Like", before the video ends. (Fire TV users will know what I mean) Thanks for what you do!
Nomos have been clever in marketing this as a 'Dive Watch' because the controversy such a depiction causes, is a _lot_ of free publicity doesn't hurt that it's gorgeous, either

Like the look of Nomos, but this is not a "dive" watch, just a nice watch with decent water resistance...
as a member of the ibwc, agree with the lugs. with that said i have the nomos neomatik siren white, and i still very much enjoy it :)
I have the tangente ahoi and it would look so much better on wrist with more refined lugs ..
Excellent every day watch, is there an original metal bracelet for it?
😂😂😂 technically a dive watch. This statement will make a lot of people freak out. 👍
I hear you jenni...this watch makes good sense...did I miss the lume?.
I have seen variation on the numeral colour for this watch (740) from light blue to a darker blue. Is this common?
YAYYY JENNI UPLOADED
Vielen danke Jenni, will show this one to my missus - a candy pink rolex is sadly unobtanium outside of 3x pricing in the grey. That said, I am hoping I can convince her on a GO seaQ.
I can't find this model on the nomos website or shopping apps. What is the exact reference?
A stunning Nomos, love it!
What a woman. Where's my Jenni Elle? I actually like the watch. Very bright and clean.
🤨
Are Panerai really dive watches or fashion dive watches?
@@turvyjj9232 one of the original dive watches.
@@triniboy05 Not nowadays.
@@turvyjj9232 what makes you say that? Just curious, for discussion purposes.
My "swimming watch" = Tissot PRC200 Chronograph #💚
Hi Jenni, could you do a video about piñatex straps? Thanks a lot!
I had a Club 701 but got rid of it because the lugs looked too long. I wish Nomos made more watches with the proportions of the Minimatik.
Jenni would you consider doing a Christopher Ward review? New C63 in particular? ))
In a field almost exclusively male you bring a fresh voice and perspective to tho world of watches.
3/4 plate only found on watches from Glasshutte? Also known as the English bridge or English plate. Does Roger W Smith know? Do Garrick know?
Jenni....Love your Videos! I appreciate that you give attention to more affordable timepieces in addition to the Rolex's and AP's, etc.! One Thing.... Could you ask for the "Thumbs Up" Just a bit earlier before you finish? It will give a bit more time to "Like", before the video ends. (Fire TV users will know what I mean) Thanks for what you do!
I love Jenni Elle
❤️
Looks fun, but I couldn't it displacing any of my existing dive watches.
Great post. Spot on.
Sorry if I missed it….but does this have a screw down crown? Or just a push/pull?
it's a push/pull
I have real affection for Nomos. My Orion is the less expensive watch in my collection but one of my favourites.
Hey Jenny , what's your background ? How come you do reviews on watches ???
Nomos have been clever in marketing this as a 'Dive Watch' because the controversy such a depiction causes, is a _lot_ of free publicity
doesn't hurt that it's gorgeous, either
