Living with Post Polio Syndrome, Shirley Glance OAM

In this video, Shirley Glance OAM shares her experiences of being a polio survivor and what it takes to be an inclusive community or service for people ageing with post polio syndrome.
The video is one of three produced for a 2022 workshop on Ageing with Post Polio Syndrome. The workshop was held at the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) Conference in Adelaide. It was led by Post Polio Victoria, in partnership with Celebrate Ageing.

Terrible how you were treated by the medical, they didn't know better and this hurt many. I have mild pps and my covid vaccines worsened my muscle weakness. I live in British Columbia Canada where there is no help for us PPSrs. Our medical has almost zero knowledge of PPS - what they do know is all wrong and about working to strengthen those muscles!
