Hi, I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Polio survivor. I'm currently 57, but have experienced new issues for the past 10 years. Loved this video. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to let me know.

Nebraska Polio Survivors Association members watched this video during the Feb. 5th meeting. Attendees were encouraged to know someone so young is curious enough to research post-polio and interview survivors. It’s a hopeful sign.

My family was really hit hard with polio my sister who was 13 years older than me contracted polio and then I came down with it she was in a Iron lung for 3 months she was paralyzed from the neck down I recovered. But now I am suffering from post polio syndrome I was okay during my childhood but now I am having quit a lot of problems back, legs I had a hard time finding a Dr you try talking to them and they look at me like I am Crazy. I finally found a Dr that listen to me he is listening to me. What I would like to know is physical therapy good for polio patients are there certain exercises we should do. It is nice to hear people talking about it. Thank you

Im from Cleveland ohio im 35 years old and have post polio, I guess I got it when i was younger in Puerto Rico. I was a normal kid doing normal things growing up, when i was about 13 started falling noticed weaknesses as I got older my right leg seems smaller shorter then the other leg. They diagnosed me At 28 years old after years going to specialist and doctors. Doctors know so little about post polio been through a lot and only one older Doctor was able to diagnosed me because there is still polio in his country.

Why not video polio survivors and their stories? I was a patient at Warm Springs from the 50's/60's. Pretty soon we will all be gone.
