Thanks for the video! I'm just starting to get more "serious" about Funko collecting now, and am paying more attention to stickers than I had been in the past. This was a great little primer. Question: I recently got Iron Spider 107. I notice that it was originally a Walgreens exclusive, but mine (and many others on eBay, etc.) has no sticker at all. Would that just be attributed to this figure getting a wider release in other stores?
I don’t judge sticker collectors at all, but I do worry about people getting taken advantage of. Also, I feel like Funko could really step up their game by improving sticker designs, or maybe even creating tamper evident stickers!
@@aaravpuri119When trying to remove their sticker it automatically tears itself apart, while leaving residue behind. Also each sticker has a serial number that can be traced on their site, making it impossible to sticker swap and scam people.
Hello i just bought my first vinyl pop her name is Charlotte and she is a glow-in-the-dark and my sticker has special edition is that good just subscribed to your channel just liked your page on fb as I'm new to collecting them
I don't really care about the retailer stickers, except it tells me where to find a pop and that I appreciate. I also love the extra identifiers such as glow in the dark and flocked. Sometimes it's not noticable just glancing at the box.
I like all the different stickers but unfortunately here in Italy there aren't so many, most of the pops comes with the SE sticker and not with the original one, you can find some official stickers but most of the time only at Conventions. It's sad
I’ll always aim for the cheaper one sticker wise because I just don’t care that a sticker makes it more valuable. It gets annoying tho when the funko app will only have a specific value set for its sticker (stain on the app is 175, that’s the con price, shared ranges from like 65-90 but the app will only let u display the con price if you add to collection) it’s a visibility and clarity thing for me I like to really know what my stuff is worth and I don’t care owning the cheaper sticker but I feel like I get my hopes up payin shared price and seeing con value on the app
Back when I first started collecting Funko Pops! in 2012 I use to really care about the stickers. I would have my connection over seas pick me up Funko Pops! From stores we don’t have in the UK. Then I want to say 2018 I just stopped caring, I came to the realisation that I was up paying for a sticker and that I’m collecting Funko Pop’s! not Funko stickers. Too many people become slaves to the stickers on Funko Pops!
The only thing I care about with the stickers is, I think the over seas sticker looks bad because it’s on every single exclusive pop even if they are from different retailers that’s what bothers me
Heres my thing. So the Box, UPC, and design (pose) of a Pop that has the official convention exclusive sticker and the shared convention exclusive sticker have no difference whatsoever with one another. They share the same Box, UPC, and design (pose). The only thing that is different is the design of the sticker, right?
I like the stickers it gives the the pop some flare and gives it exclusivity. Edit: I have the original Asuna #81 I bought her from Hot Topic back in 2016 but I did a sticker swap and put on a replica red HT pre-release sticker on her it looks so much better 😅😅 I'm never selling her so who cares right?
Hello Skittle Rampage, in my country (Portugal) there only exists Special Edition stickers in stores so i dont really care about it. Some colectors do care and buy pops overseas for stupid amounts of money just because of one little sticker... One thing to mention is that the pop no mather the sticker will always be the same (not talking about the chases tho). Some stickers are pretty and all of that and give exclusivity but if you think of that do you really like the pop or the sticker it comes with? Be smart if you like the figure choose the cheapest one you will probably display it out of box. This is only my opinion and i respect those who buy the pop for its sticker so please respect me aswell.
For the most part, I don't care about the stickers. However, though I primarily collect for the art of it, the characters, and nostalgia, etc, I also see it as an investment, so I want the worth in my collection for when I inevitably sell it, or parts of it. In that sense, it bugs me when one sticker is worth significantly more than another when it's the EXACT SAME POP. I feel like it should go back to the way things used to be, to some extent, where certain pops were ONLY accessible at cons, which made them rare. To put out all theses exact same pops with different stickers to say you were there or not seems pointless. If there should be a special reason for attending the events and cons, you should be rewarded with access to special pops that are only available there. That's what makes them rare, interesting, and worth hunting. For example, I have Anti-Venom (the newer one) that just happens to not have the Boxlunch sticker. Because of that, it's worth like half the price as the other...but it's the EXACT SAME figure, just missing the sticker. That seems dumb to me. That's my feeling. In the end, it is what it is.
Yeah I'm just a pop collector not a sticker collector I have no problem with shared stickers or Commons without stickers. Now I don't get me wrong if I managed to get an exclusive or a sticker or something I'll definitely take it lol. But I'm not going to go out of my way and spend a huge amount of money for a sticker no. But I do understand the nature of collecting so I don't judge at all.
Im so glad i could get enmu at retail 14.99 smyths toys a uk retailer has tons for retail im glad i can get con stuff for cheap prices but yur fact i either have to get replacement stickers or pay a little extra another plus is that i can get gamestop excludives galatic exclusives and boxlunch exclusives all in the same store
Love the video! I'm the same, like the value of my collection from what I paid for and the worth of now/could be. I sometimes like certain stickers because of the hunt and wanting that version, giving me a feeling of the rarity of what I have. Also sometimes I only buy certain things I like with sticker or not, as long as I think it looks good.
Now I gotta add my two cents haha. I personally don’t care, I do understand why people care about the stickers tho. I’m more interested in the pop itself then the sticker mainly because I’m just collecting for me. Plus with the exclusive stickers, for me personally,I don’t think its worth it especially because if your buying it second hand your gonna be paying exclusive sticker prices so at the point can you really sell it for a profit? I mean it’s possible however i think it’s more beneficial to purchase pops with exclusive stickers when they first drop, especially if you gonna sell them, if that makes sense. Happy funko hunting 😊
I think the same can almost be said about 1st edition and unlimited edition trading cards, there’s thousands of dollars worth of value in difference but no one really complains about that. I think that it’s cool that there’s a difference in value cause of stickers and the people who complain about it? I mean they make the cheaper version without the sticker/shared sticker to appeal to you so why can’t we just all get along? Lol
Great video, for me I think it's cool for a collection to have a variety of stickers. One of the stickers I'm most excited to see is my NFT Bob Ross grail.
The rise of fake stickers is what turned me off of really caring about stickers. I'm more interested in having the pop in my collection, than I am paying extra $$$ just for a sticker.
It really depends on the person, if you dont mind paying extra $100 for a sticker thats fine its their money anyway. The problem is when you want to sell the pop its harder to sell at a higher price for the sticker. Thats what I see in some of the resellers in my area.
All my convention stickers are con sticker none are shared. It holds their value better than the shared and easier to sell if money is needed for an emergency
I do like the stickers but I'm not fussy about them. If I get my hands on an official sticker, great, if it's shared or a special edition sticker I don't care as long as I got the figure. Im also an in box collector, I just like displaying a huge wall of figures and the box adds a nice display aspect and keeps everything nice and level.
I like the stickers but at same time if a pop doesn't have it it's not a huge deal. I got the Sailor moon glitter pop for close to half of because was missing sticker and slight window damage but don't plan on reselling it.
Very true, I prefer some stickers over others just so I can have some diversity and add more value to that specific pop, also do you know when ECCC Funko reveals will start?
I don't understand the sticker hype at all, I understand the convention values though, those trips can be very expensive. But I personally prefer no stickers on the few characters I collect and I plan to never sell any Funko I buy anyway, so stickers are in the way for me personally.
Same it’s the same exact pop I pay for the character / rare/ common not the stickers but everyone is different but it just makes sense to pay for the pop then to pay even more for the same pop with a different sticker but iknow “exclusivity” means a lot to people in the collection and I respect that imo it’s not worth it to me
I personally like some retailer stickers because some of them go really well with the box art/colors itself (minus the new gamestop sticker, SE sticker and walmart sticker in most cases). Plus, I do go one mini pop hunts time to time and it reminds me when I find that pop out in the wild. The only issue I see with collecting for stickers is people who don’t collect pops for anything but to flip. I have the con and shared stickers for each of the pops I love so I can keep the con ones in box and display the shared out of box. They also look cool since funko does different colors every year for each con. I do have a couple of SE pops whenever I cant wait for the US release but I always end up giving those to a faniky member or friend once I get the retail version or display them somehwere oob. I think that will change with the new SE sticker though because I love the way it looks especially on the new chalice Thor pop. I also like the new sure thing toys sticker as well. Hopefully more retailers can reach that benchmark and land their own exclusives
It depends on the pop for me. Someone like Deku, whom I collect religiously, I don't care for the stickers at ALL, I don't wanna pay x2 price for the same model of a character I collect a lot But for something with only 1 copy like Masked Ichigo, Plastic Man, etc. The stickers give it exclusivity
I do swap my SDCC shared to fake stickers just cause I absolutely hate the shared SDCC sticker, the nycc sticker shared is so clean and attractive looking but the SDCC I’ll swap em I don’t give a shit the pops not going anywhere
I think however you choose to collect is up to you and there shouldn't be any hate, it's all about having fun. I just see a lot of negativity towards Funko with fake stickers which I don't think is helpful or productive.
I do like some stickers, but overall it’s not something I really fret over. Like if it’s something super special, like a limited piece count or it has some sort of special meaning to me, sure…but it’s not the most important thing for me as a collector.
I want that Asuna box lunch and that shared kaguya, don’t really care for stickers much but been trying to get the sticker version if there is one I want over the regular version of not I’ll grab the regular if I want it and don’t want to pay for sticker one eventually I’ll have all the ones I want
It depends on the sticker for me because if it’s Glow and the SE sticker takes too much space and the original sticker it’s all info in one sticker I prefer the original sticker Example for that is the box lunch exclusive weakened all might or the water dragon Glow Tanjiro Kamado
I don't know why people get upset with people who collect Funko Pops in their own ways basically I could careless about how people collect Funko pops I collect Funko pops by the characters just like on the 7th of this Month I went to my local GAMESTOP and Bought a schoolhouse Rock Bill Funko Pop and when I got home I Discovered it was a CHASE limited Edition Funko Pop
in my opinion its just a cool factor but if I really want a pop and i cant find the official sticker for a decent price you better believe im buying that se sticker for a fraction of the price.
Personally for me I do like how the in box pops look with their original exclusive stickers versus the special edition one. For me I do have some special edition pops in box but I have ordered replacement stickers for their designated exclusive sticker but I placed it on the protector instead of the box so if any case if I have to sell that pop it doesn’t look as if I’m trying to sticker swap for a higher price (although not many people tend to buy with the SE sticker but I wanna be honest with my pop 😂) plus the SE pops in my collection were from small mom & pop shops in my area I love to support so to know I get to help out a small pop business while getting the pop I want I see as a win-win
Many ppl fights for the stickers,i see in a page i am following on Facebook ppl wanting the original Official ones like for instance one of the well known hot topic! For me if the figure is the same and doesn't has any particular features doesn't count that much since i-we buying the figure! Not the sticker people because of it is to care more for the sticker rather the actual product then lets collect stickers and an album to put them inside! The only thing i can see as useful in the sticker section is to know for instance,if they are gonna release specific ones overseas, for knowing if it is glow,it it is flocked, sented etc! I have allot with a sticker and ok they give a more lets say oficial look to the art toy,and it is a good way to also know if you are buying an original one! Although the unique code showing this below their boxes mostly! Also when funko has a pop in limited quantity like 1000 or 2000 they should have put in each pop box an insert with a background, and behind this the actual certificate and the actual number we hold to our hands! Like they do with the statue busts and some other more unique collectibles!
I honestly don't care about the stickers but I do have some of them and thank you for making this video it really helped me because iam sill new to collecting funko pop 😅 also I once bought a funko pop for like 5 dollars or less then when I scanned it the really price was around 900😳 i was really shocked 😲 😅
I collect the funkos I love if is shared or official but I will say if I find a good deal for a official sticker I will get it lol 😆 or get both just to have both
I have a love, hate feelings with stickers. I go for the store sticks if I can but don't care about share vs con. I don't like specials edition until the new sticker came out and now don't care that much but will try for the original sticker if I can still get them easily.
@@voydkid That fine but gamestop are not everywhere and that why they do have gamestop pop with the SE stickers. SE stickers are put on pop to replace the original exclusive sticker in places outside of the US that don't have those companies stores in that county.
Hopefully this gives a better understanding of Funko Pop Stickers!
Make sure to leave a like!

Hi im new to funko pop collecting and im wondering what does “SE” means on the right hand corner of the box instead of having the number to it?
I think the same can almost be said about 1st edition and unlimited edition trading cards, there’s thousands of dollars worth of value in difference but no one really complains about that. I hear what you said about the special edition stickers. But those and box lunch for some reason makes me feel like I got a really authentic pop. 😂

I have only one pop with a sticker, a shared sticker from 2019 convention shared with books a million on Dave from 2001: a space odyssey
Only time i get the special edition sticker if i cant get the the exclusive one
I understand the sticker thing as I am a Funko collector myself but in the end, I don’t like how it ultimately affected the Funko pop culture.
I didn’t know that the stickers had a purpose until now.
So glad they're finally changing the SE sticker. The old one was so bad...
Whats better or worth more, exclusive or special edition?

U could probably tell it's been replaced cuz of serial numbers and whatever
I’m a stickered collector so it does matter
I never understood the pre-release sticker that would seem very easy to fake with a good sticker
It's not, they have to have certain barcodes and the stickers have different print/edges.
What if my sticker is upside down....worth more?
Sold my kurama glow just to get one piece collection and it worked out perfect
Nice Pickups 👌
This video helped me a bunch thanks!
They should add a metallic sticker to the Amazon exclusive Optimus Prime
They should! I saw that one the other day.
Some stickers are ok but honestly it can be annoying when it starts getting to excessive. It's not a priority for me
I don't care about stickers anymore. I want the pop not the sticker! So the old Special Edition sticker doesn't bother me. I want the freaking Pop!
I collect the funkos I love if is shared or official but I will say if I find a good deal for a official sticker I will get it lol 😆 or get both just to have both
I have a love, hate feelings with stickers. I go for the store sticks if I can but don't care about share vs con. I don't like specials edition until the new sticker came out and now don't care that much but will try for the original sticker if I can still get them easily.
you don't consider SE as original stickers?
@@voydkid No as they are the international version. The original would be like hot topic, AAA anime, or gamestop as I live in the US.
@@xeno1365 we have gamestop in europe
@@voydkid That fine but gamestop are not everywhere and that why they do have gamestop pop with the SE stickers. SE stickers are put on pop to replace the original exclusive sticker in places outside of the US that don't have those companies stores in that county.
@@xeno1365 When a pop first releases at popcultcha Australia, doesn't it make PC the original Sticker? :D
