I am a certified step instructor - since the inception of Step through Reebox University by Gin Miller who is the creator of Step, and was training and taught never to run or jump down off the top of the bench. I would modify those jumps to save knee and hip joints from the impact.
This new era of “Step”, is reductive compared to what you learned and taught. I used to take step class from a renowned step instructor and aerobics champion and although these Les Mills classes are decent cardio, the precision, coordination, and flow of an original step class is GONE.
