I loved Carry On. One thing that stands out is the sound. It sounds excellent with surround sound and a good subwoofer. The scene in which the item is scanned in the machine had such a tremendous impact because of the bass in that scene. Awesome sound!
I only know Jason Bateman. And only in comedy. Do not know Taron at all. Yet when I watched this, Taron was very relatable. He is a very effective actor. He started out being unsure, then even as the danger increased and was finally identified, Taron became braver and knew what to do and followed through on his instincts. For most of us, when the going gets tough, we do not know what to do. I see him as a hero, he will do what he can to save not only his beloved but a bunch of innocent people. As for Jason’s character, he deserved all and possibly even more than what he got at the end.
I loved this movie. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the movie, and I think Taron's character made some very smart decisions. I can't understand how some people don't like it.
It was a very good Netflix movie. I felt it was a mix of Die Hard 2 with a few other movies. Jason Bateman always plays a good bad guy for some reason. I also like that they setup a bit of story plot instead of just jumping into the main action from the get go. Taron was great and Sofia did pretty well as more than just eye candy for the screen. This movie was better than many movies that were in the theaters this year, so definitely check it out if you haven't already.
Carry-on is faaaaaaar from being an amazing film. Having said that, it's one of those movies that you can watch again and again and again and still have fun, that's where it's magic is ✨
The acting was better than the script. While not a bad movie, it has every cliche all movies of this sub-genre have. The title makes me think of the British series of films!
Carry-On was a genuinely good movie. Preposterous? Sure. But it was pretty well acted and well paced. This was just a good movie, not even just a good Netflix movie.
I watched it tonight after one of my friends who never watches movies called it “the best movie of the year”. It’s actually quite good. Very suspenseful.
Wanted to watch it but was the wife's turn to pick on Netflix. Since it was Christmas she chose the Wham-Last Christmas documentary which sees them revisit the location where the music video was shot in Switzerland after 40 years. Was pretty good and nostalgic. Plan on watching Carry-on this weekend.
We enjoyed it. I'm a fan of Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton. For us it was a good pizza and wings type movie. Yes it was predictable and stuff, but good for a Netflix movie.
So did I, which what put me off it at first because I love those old carry on movies. But it ended up being a cross between Die hard 2 mixed with phone booth 😂
While this was a paint-by-numbers thriller with everything overtly predictable from the moment at the beginning you find out he “failed out of the police academy”. They did wrap up the cliches a little better; I.e.- “do this or we kill your girlfriend”. Bateman’s character did say, “do it or we’ll kill her, and we’ll still get that carry on on the plane anyway.” So, wasn’t just that usual cliche that’s annoying; at least said, “don’t make us kill her for no reason other than your ego”
I enjoyed this movie for the most part. Justin Bateman is always pleasant on screen. There's nothing wrong with being mildly entertained by a movie. They're not all meant to blow our minds and win awards. I had nothing else to do and nothing else that I was dying to see at the moment... the movie served its purpose.
This is why NETFLIX keeps making original films because eventually they’ll hit one out of the park! The musician PRINCE drop an album or two every year. Not all of his Albums were Homeruns but he has over a dozen homeruns in ALBUMS!
The movie was alright. Good enough for a dead brain family popcorn flick. My wife mentioned the lead characters had way too much makeup on they looked fake. But overall it served its purpose for a Netflix movie.
Carry On wasn't without redeeming qualities, but I found it formulaic and predictable. Between the numerous plot holes and the absurd, unrealistic reactions of the characters to various information or scenarios it completely pulled me out of the movie. 3/10
every once in a while they put out a fun movie that is good enough to go completely viral and known by everyone. literally the first netflix movie i watched since red notice
There was one very glaring thing at the very end that I think should have been completely obvious on the watch back during editing. I won’t say what that is, but it makes me wonder if they ran out of time or money to catch the mistake. But other than that, I enjoyed Jason Bateman as the villain.
I liked it but Netflix has had so many better acton films this year. 60 Minutes from Germany, City Hunter from Japan, Officer Black Belt from South Korea, and The Shadow Strays from Indonesia. All some of the very best action films of 2024 and deserve far more recognition.
Saw the film and didn’t like it to many plot holes and poor decisions. Also running around LAX parking pit on the 24th and it’s empty…. Laughable it just kept pushing my suspension of disbelief until it broke.
I get that. It takes a little bit before Jason Batemans character does anything other than talk in the guys ears. I thought the first half was a slow burn but then revs up in the second half.
Right from the beginning it was unbelievable, ain’t nobody wearing a used earbud that you don’t know where it’s been. TSA agents won’t touch your bags without wearing gloves but I’m supposed to believe he used a random earbud?
That’s all media nowadays. Look at Deadpool and Wolverine or Spider-Man No Way Home, both movies were hyped up to the point where people were calling them the greatest movies ever but after the hype died people don’t even think about them and they have zero rewatchability.

I think it gave a real Speed/Die Hard feeling so it was sorta a good mid 2000’s movie but in 2024.
I only know Jason Bateman. And only in comedy. Do not know Taron at all.

@polyglot12 def agree I did like taron egerton chops he did well and action was didn’t look too bad either
This was TSA’s ‘TOP GUN’
*Die Hard

A 'Carry On film' has completely different conotations in the UK for a certain demographic.
It wasn’t bad. Nice little chill at home with some popcorn movie.
I watched it because Jason Bateman as a bad guy intrigued me, this movie was good. Jason and Taron were both great in it
I watched it tonight after one of my friends who never watches movies called it “the best movie of the year”. It’s actually quite good. Very suspenseful.
The plot reminded of Red Eye
Was kind of pushed into seeing this, and was pleasantly surprised. Very die hardish.

I really feel like he would be a good Wolverine
I watched this movie on Monday its was just alright imo its not to brag about
Film has a slow start but gets better and better as it progresses.
Good for him.
I really like Taron Egerton and he should won Oscar for Rocketman.
I like him too. He’s got a good chance of being the next Tom Cruise.

Thought it was the old British comedies in the title... but then thought carry on my wayward son...😂

Very Die Hard. Great movie to just escape to and eat crappy food to
Right
I love Carry on so much that I ordered a bluray copy of it. I can't wait to get it
The best die hard like movie I’ve seen in years
Are people really watching it though? or is it background noise or like most movies that you watch at home, everyone is distracted
The movie was alright. Good enough for a dead brain family popcorn flick. My wife mentioned the lead characters had way too much makeup on they looked fake. But overall it served its purpose for a Netflix movie.

I enjoyed Carry-On but I thought it was amusing that a top FBI operative had to use Wikipedia to find out what ‘Novichok’ is.
There was one very glaring thing at the very end that I think should have been completely obvious on the watch back during editing. I won’t say what that is, but it makes me wonder if they ran out of time or money to catch the mistake.

This was really good
Movie was great
The girlfriend ending up in exact spot where bad guy can kill her every time was kinda ridiculous. Still enjoyed it though.
I risked getting spoiled, even just a little, before diving into the comment section.😔😑
And now early 2025 we have back in action Cameron Diaz’s comeback film

One common fact between "Carry-On" and "The Terminal" is that DreamWorks is actually involved in both.
It was like phonebooth
It's Netflix's biggest until Wallace and Gromit comes out. That movie was incredible. I need your review Campea.
Loved the movie ,a little. Too long tho

Theo Rossi

@@Blah707 Dean Norris is the Breaking Bad actor in Carry-On.
@@jaybling6687 ahhhh thanks for clarification
Considering most of the stuff Netflix puts out is terrible this wasn’t that bad.
Nothing about sequel yet. Maybe
But the last 4-5 years was terrible on Netflix so No 1 doesn't tell me to much.
It was good. Would’ve been a hit in the 90s.
It was fun for what it was. Nothing spectacular but entertaining and fun enough
It’s spectacular
@@TheGalacticProphet-lf8bn The ending is ridiculous and unrealistic.

@charlesharry7901 you must be very young.
I feel like there was a lot of loop holes in that movie
The terminal is a better movie John !,the terminal is great❤
Have you seen that the real steel Disney series has found it’s writers?
The movie was three out of five. Easy watching for a Sunday while you scrolling on your phone.
Good movie. But complete rip off of Phone Booth and Eagle Eye
I wonder why the audience score on RT is so low
hate watching
Dream Works! Dream Works magic formula!!!
2 carry 2 on 😂😂😂
Didn’t like it, too much like Die Hard 2 and 3 mixed together with a little bit of Speed
Yeah, surprisingly good considering it’s from Netflix…
John, you will probably get everyone killed 😂😂😂😂😂
2 Carry 2 On hahah that was funny
Man, I am shocked critics are loving this movie so much. I only lasted about 15 minutes before I checked out which is very rare for me.
You missed an awesome movie. Pot helps.
I get that. It takes a little bit before Jason Batemans character does anything other than talk in the guys ears. I thought the first half was a slow burn but then revs up in the second half.
I agree with you. It was so unbelievable I struggled with it. An MCU superhero movie is more believable than the stuff that happened in this movie.
Seems like you have no patience and expect action right off the bat. You missed out.
@ it had nothing to do with patience. Every detail of the first 15 minutes were so ridiculous and improbable, I could not even suspend my disbelief.
Nice try diddy
Terrible film, utter sludge.
I felt like the ending was rushed. But overall it was an easy watch.
I did not like "Carry-on." I found it disappointing and really dumb. I'm surprised it got a lot of praise. The movie isn't for me.
I guess i am the only person who was screaming at the TV because of how stupid the main character was? It was torture watching this...
