You don't need to hear God's voice (if he/it exists). A sign would be just as useful. If you heard a voice, you would have to know that the voice came from God. Even signs deliver a message, just not in complete sentences. Dreams and visions do not count. Your own thoughts do not count. I'm looking for evidence based reality when I look at whether a specific agent (e.g. God) has given me a message or sign.
The Lord speaks to me by putting a phrase into my head…like you said I’ve learned to not ignore it, but grab a pen and paper and let the words flow….and they flow from one sentence to the next, very fluidly onto the paper. I am always very surprised at the turn of the narrative that appears through my hand. It is always very Christ centered. I am amazed at this gift of The Holy Spirit!

He speaks to me through dreams, extremely perfect timing of events or texts/etc, and other people. He did wake me up about 2 weeks ago after I had been praying all week for assurance (I'm a new Christian and still working on "working out my salvation"). I remember part of this dream. I was face down on my hands and knees in a endless and extremely bright space (hard to describe) and I kept repeating the phrase "Blessed is the Lamb to whom salvation belongs" over and over again. I woke up saying it out loud. That was one of 2 dreams I've had recently.

The feet were VERY bright and I didn't even attempt to lift my head to look at who it was standing there. I remember a mixture of 2 feelings. I don’t believe in coincidences. I’ve just come back from visiting my parents who are very sick in Spain and I live in England. It was a very testing time and there were things said and other stressful times but I prayed but did not keep in the word I was there for one month and the things you said I know are true but sometimes we don’t listen. I go to an art group not to be taught how to draw but using it as relaxation the day after I come back the art Group was on and they give us ideas of things we should draw this time they said we want you to draw an ear now I take that as a sign maybe I’m not listening maybe I need to listen to someone else and as I said this is not a coincidence. They have never asked us to draw any part of our anatomy before. Thank you brother maybe my ears need a good cleaning out by our father to hear what he has to say. Great video bless you

And, that's a valid communication medium. Your own thoughts is not valid. (1) Anything that involves your own thoughts is not from God. Can you prove to others that you got a message or sign(s) from God? (2) If the message or sign is not external, communicate a pattern or correlation or even message, it is not from God. (3) People you have met, or circumstances in your life, good or bad luck. None of these things are from God. (4) If something happens in nature, it is not from God, unless the laws of nature are altered, and there is a message in the phonomenon that you observed. Goin down on ur knees in front of someone out of respect, fear and for worship & prayer, and then sayin yo to him doesn't add up. Would you have talked this way to your teacher, who's made of flesh and blood, even if he's been extremely carin and gentle to you? You might do that to your buddy or family member, but not Someone Who calls Himself the Alpha and Omega, the Lord of hosts Who was, is and is to come. And yes, you're right, it was primarily due to being lukewarm or disobedience. But disobedience can be easily connected with being casual. You see that people were given the death sentence by God because they thought they could be casual with God's Word, just like the prophet who had been deceived by another older prophet. Instead of sticking to God's Word and just goin home without letting himself being distracted, he made a quick stop. Another example is the levite casually touching the ark of covenant while carrying it, even if he had good intentions. Btw, these examples aren't even that casual compared to what some of the believers think these days.
I am not opposed to the things you say, but I just want to say that I am a little put off by your covering your head all the time. Would you have talked this way to your teacher, who's made of flesh and blood, even if he's been extremely carin and gentle to you? You might do that to your buddy or family member, but not Someone Who calls Himself the Alpha and Omega, the Lord of hosts Who was, is and is to come.
And yes, you're right, it was primarily due to being lukewarm or disobedience. But disobedience can be easily connected with being casual. You see that people were given the death sentence by God because they thought they could be casual with God's Word, just like the prophet who had been deceived by another older prophet. Instead of sticking to God's Word and just goin home without letting himself being distracted, he made a quick stop.
Another example is the levite casually touching the ark of covenant while carrying it, even if he had good intentions.
Btw, these examples aren't even that casual compared to what some of the believers think these days.
