A slight oversight from Justin is with the beginning riff, where he hammers the D string on the 14th fret; Tony Iommi hammers the A string on the 14th fret at the end of the riff.
I find a lot of people do not deserve to have a music YT channel when they can't bother to correctly demonstrate how to play an easy song. Tony Iommi has said a few times that a lot of people get it wrong. He said that even he plays it wrong live sometimes from over-exhuberance. Anyway, like you said, the last note of the riff is the 14th fret on the A string, NOT the 14th fret on the D string. It should be: e|-----------------------------|---------------------------| B|-----------------------------|---------------------------| G|-----------------------------|---------------------------| D|-----------------------------|--------12h14-------12------| A|--12h14.----12h14.----12h14.-----|--12h14-------12h14-----14---| E|--12.-------12.-------12.-------|---------------------------| * Version using a fixed width font, which displays correctly when using a font like Courier. e|-----------------------------|---------------------------| B|-----------------------------|---------------------------| G|-----------------------------|---------------------------| D|-----------------------------|--------12h14-------12-----| A|--12h14.----12h14.----12h14.-|--12h14-------12h14----14--| E|--12.-------12.-------12.----|---------------------------|
@@gastondubois896 Whether someone's worthy of having a music-themed educational YT channel or not isn't really up to us, although I agree that if you're going to do demos and tutorials, at least do your due diligence and teach the people correctly. Another thing about the Paranoid beginning riff many channels get wrong is that they manually do the hammer-on / pull-offs, instead of barring the three thickest strings and doing it like Tony does.
Typed "how to play...." this song in RUclips. As it was searching I was desperately hoping you had done a tutorial for this song. I was extremely happy to see that you have. You are the best teacher out there Justin. If you haven't covered it, it's not worth learning 😝
Dear Justin, you’re such a good guitar player so I’m hesitant to write this. But I’m a big Sabbath fan and l have to tell you that the main riff doesn’t sound right. I think it’s the last note before you go back to chugging on the sixth and fifth string you get wrong. All the best though and thanks for doing a Sabbath song!
My God how I jacked this up so bad when I was a lad. I got a few things right, but mostly it was a mess. I am glad you cleared up how to do it right! Easy song to learn, difficult to play correctly (like most of Tony's work)
FWIW, this song sounds great with fuzz, but Iommi wasn’t using fuzz. The sound comes from a combination of a treble booster, with mids and treble turned up and based turned all the way down, and the natural breakup of having his Laney amp cranked.
Too late, too late. 🙂We played that live last Thursday. Slighty differently, I use the open E string to give it more oomph. There is also a brief lick between the E and D during the verse. I think I heard that the first time on the Speak of the Devil Ozzy live record. Brad Gillis might have copied that from Randy Rhoads, I can also hear it on the Tribute album which was recorded earlier but leased later than Speak of the Devil.
wait a minute, you are correct good sir. could it be that Justin messed up the most iconic guitar riff in his lesson? I say he owes us the lesson for the SOLO to make it up to us!!!
Hey Justin, it's not right with the intro. It's not ending 2 times on the D string on the 14th fret. The second ends on the A string on the 14th fret. Please listen to the original song...! But it is a good tutorial as always. Thank you for the good work.
i just bought an electric guitar and it sounds nothing like yours, when i hammer down the tone just dissapears, i want that electric sound that i was expecting when buying the guitar
Great tutorial, your lessons have been helping me a lot recently. Could you do "She don't know me," by Bon Jovi on acoustic? That would be awesome. Thank you!

People who make pedantic comments and point out tiny mistakes are so annoying - why are they watching Justin’s lessons if they know it all so accurately.

First song I ever learned to play on electric . Drove my parents crazy , especially dad , he hated rock and only listened to country .
🤣
It was worth it then.
I started playing guitar later in life. Drive my SON crazy ....LOL.

I think he does on the original but in a demo with Brian May he seems to play it the way Justin does it here
Paranoid, sweet Leaf and War pigs was some of my first songs I played 🤟🏼
You are seriously one of the best instructors online. I'm currently working on your course

You rock Justin. Thanks for all your efforts! 🤘
This song was one of the first I learnt, alongside when i discovered your video 'Under The Bridge' love it man! 😀
You’re the best Justin thanks.
I am going to put this one in the sett list of 2023. Amazing song!
Lovin' the tone! Nice electric 👍
thanks for this. been listening to this song since 1972 now I have a chance to play it in my band!
Nice one!! Even your voice is improving!! Don't be shy, just belt it out with your abs firm.🤘👍
That’s a classic!!! Thank you Justin!
this is the first song i’ve ever learned on a guitar, never touched one before 😎 thank you so much!!!
Justin... you rock!! Thanks for the lesson!

Bro xd
I think Tommy plays it both ways
Thanks! keep on rocking
Justin with a great new lesson!
Good stuff Justin!
Thanks Justin for this classic!

So simple and very powefull
Great playing.
Prefect lesson!
Thank you for this lesson !
One of those songs every beginner should learn
160 bpm… you sure its for beginners?
Fantastic 🤘🏻
Good stuff!
Awesome!
Awesome 😎
Nice tab!
Great song and great tutorial!
bro İ grew up watching you ain't joking. İ learned how to play the guitar from you. Long time didn't see your videos.
i was just yesterday thinking about learning it and this came up hell yea
Jatka rokkaamista,terveiset suomesta!!
Absolutely wicked - takes me back to my youth ❤

well that cleared a few things up🤣😂Thanks heaps
Solo?
Please do a tutorial on Money for nothing by dire straits.
Iommi plays the main riff one note different)
Way cool Justin!🤘
what are the amp settings
Another song for me to not practice enough! 😅
🤘🏼
What year is the sg?
you're playing wrong the main riff. listen closely.
(hint: the last note is 5th string 14th fret)
exactly
wait a minute, you are correct good sir. could it be that Justin messed up the most iconic guitar riff in his lesson? I say he owes us the lesson for the SOLO to make it up to us!!!
came to say it lol. small but significant difference
That's how it is on the original recording but I think in a demo Tommy did with Bryan May he ends on 14 fret D string.
Coool
😍😍😍
Not quite right as Bero1707 says your missing the last not on the 5th String 14th fret, 12-14(5) 12-14(4) 12-14(5) 12(4) 14(5)*
🎸🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘
I've recently been going back and looking at the tab Of songs I used to play and I can't believe that tab book I used got this completely wrong.

Great lesson and I love your SG. I own a 67 ES-345 with the very cool Maestro Tailpiece.
Sir nex song please teach me how to play some day by michael learn to rock.
I would rather use a Treble Booster like the Naga Viper than a Fuzz to get that sound.
So cool !! Do one for Bigger Than Me by Louis Tomlinson next
Impressive . Better just play no talk talk !
I can never have it sound like that at all, and idk what hammering is so idk why everyone say this riff is so easy
Is that liberty cap tattoo?
Hey Justin, it's not right with the intro. It's not ending 2 times on the D string on the 14th fret. The second ends on the A string on the 14th fret. Please listen to the original song...! But it is a good tutorial as always. Thank you for the good work.
If you REALLY REALLY look at it REALLY HARD you realize that its actually pretty easy, just needs practice
TONE?
The excess string coming off the headstock gives me anxiety lol
i just bought an electric guitar and it sounds nothing like yours, when i hammer down the tone just dissapears, i want that electric sound that i was expecting when buying the guitar
What did you get and what amp do you have
Great tutorial, your lessons have been helping me a lot recently. Could you do "She don't know me," by Bon Jovi on acoustic? That would be awesome. Thank you!

The entry melody for Paranoid is not correct. Just listen to the original song and you'll quickly realise it goes a bit different than that.
People who make pedantic comments and point out tiny mistakes are so annoying - why are they watching Justin’s lessons if they know it all so accurately.
It's good to hear you sing. There's a problem. You sing like a guitar teacher. "Paranoid" has to sound like a desperate man seeking a way out.
Thank you! I did it! "Chili Bros" YT channel, 11yo Paranoid guitar cover.
You have the same guitar as marty swartz or is this his guitar 😂😂
It is not Marty's. Bought from Fil SoloDallas Oliveri. Info here: www.justinguitar.com/guitar-lessons/justin-s-guitars-list-and-info-gg-001

Isn’t the intro wrong in this example? Sounds off
Such easy riff and you got it wrong....
listen....black sabbath first.......the rest is all copy and noise.
sure not how too sing it
This video is not a singing lesson nor a vocal cover but a guitar lesson. The vocals-which are not bad- help to see everything in context.
Cmon Justin take quick deep breaths in between singing those phrases get that voice projected work on it . Man work on it
Justin, you do NOT play this song correctly. You err with one incorrect note.
Pura....crem.🤟👅🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽👍😁buena🦻🤘😜
Thank you Justin! Your lessons are so accurate.
